I called Abt when the ice maker I purchased there stopped working.
Abt appointment 1 - technician unable to repair and stated a $800 part is needed.
Abt appointment 2 - technician installed part but Ice maker still not working. The technician said he’d call back in two days to see if the ice maker had started working because sometimes that happens. The technician damaged the cabinet we found out later. He never called back.
Abt appointment 3 - my wife mentioned to technician that the water dispenser in the ice machine was not working. The water inlet was clogged.
The part was never needed, however Abt threatened to turn to collections if I didn’t pay for the part. I’ve spent more than $50k at Abt over the years. I wish I hadn’t.

Our Samsung fridge had quit making ice and one of the solutions was to change the water filter...oops, we hadn't changed the filter in the 5 years we had owned the fridge. I googled where to buy a filter and Amazon was top of the list, then I saw Abt Electronics next. So I compared the two. The price was the same and although, there is a HUGE Amazon warehouse about a mile away, Abt could deliver 2 days earlier, so I gave them a try and everything went perfect! The new filter is installed and the fridge is again making ice. Would purchase from again.

It hurts me to have to give a poor rating. I have been a loyal customer of Abt for 30 years. I had a recent delivery that was awful. The delivery person doing all of the talking was surly. When I asked them to remove the tv from the box I was told “ that costs extra. Here sign this”. The one doing the talking told me there was a charge to remove an item from a box. Furious, I called the store and spoke to a manager who told me there was no charge for removing the tv from the box. Heretofore, Abt walked on water in my estimation., I could have gotten better service at a lesser store. I think they have grown too big and the superb customer service has gone out the window. Also, they need to train the two individuals who made the delivery. They pulled that large truck into my driveway. There was space at the mouth if the driveway without pulling that large truck weighing who knows what into my driveway.

BUYERS BEWARE! I purchased an LG washing machine and dryer from ABT three years ago. The washer leaked through my wall under the floor of my bathroom and caused severe mold damage. I’ve had to pay close to $20,000 to have the bathroom remodeled. The washing machine connector/line was all rusted out. LG claims these lines were not the lines made for the washing machine. ABT claims otherwise. Of course, none of the warranties cover this issue, or any you could possibly have. On top of the extreme damage caused to my house and health, the ABT claims Guy yelled at me over the phone that it was due to my “shitty contractor” who hooked up the washer. Great customer service ABT! Moreover, a monkey could hook up a connector to a sprocket. Why would the connectors rust out within 3 years? Aren’t those made for water? Now it’s on small claims court! Do not shop at this shack!

My tenant in Evanston bought a brand new washer/dryer combo ($2,400ish) in February 2023 from ABT Electronics. Last month (Feb 2025), the dryer stopped running.

The purchase has one-year warranty. Obviously, the warranty expired. So my tenant purchased $209 service package which included unlimited visits to solve the problem. The technician came in twice and was not able to fix the dryer. On his third visit, he proposed changing the following parts: the main board, the motor and the heater Assy. The total estimate is $1,279 - equivalent to, if not more than, buying a new dryer.

Since the estimate was so high, I called the appliance repair company. The technician came in and fixe the problem within 20 minutes - the labor costs $140. No parts need to be changed.

My tenant called the ABT store to request a refund. They declined with the following logic: the $209 fee covers unlimited visits until they figure out the problem. If we didn't go with another company they would have eventually figure out the problem and fixed it.

I laughed when I saw what the tenant messaged me - So the logic is this: They promise they will eventually solve the issue. They came in twice and didn't. So as a last resort, they proposed changing all major parts of the dryer. If the dryer resumes working after replacing all major parts, I need to pay $1,279 for the parts.

I actually trust their third proposal will work because they are essentially replacing a new dryer for me, whereas the technician I found fixed the problem in one visit, 20 minutes, cost me $140.

I really don't know what to say about this company. I would just like to share the experience with all future/potential customers and be cautious with this company.

My wife and I were very pleased with our 11/25/2024 appliance delivery. We bought all four items - stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher - from our salesperson Eric Benjamin. All pieces came in good condition. I was nervous about the installation because our old appliances were 24 years old and thus so were the water valves for the dishwasher and icemaker. The installation went smoothly. My wife and I were both pleased. The ~100 mile roundtrip from our house to ABT Glenview was an investment in time, but it was well worth it. Working with Eric Benjamin and the two delivery/installation workers was a 100% positive experience. Thanks ABT! p.s. The only backordered item was the oven Air Fry Basket (GE JXAFTRAY1VSS). We are hoping that arrives soon.

The Whirlpool WRS325SDZSS side by side refrigerator was installed on Friday, 11.22.2024, by Abt Electronics. The installation service was awesome. Both Brian Oeun and Santino Bianchi are amazing as I have a crawlspace and this is where the existing water line to the existing ice maker is located at. Brian made sure that I was up to date in having the proper components for a successful ice maker installation. Brian and Santino make sure that I understood what was done, and asked repeatedly if I have any questions and went over how to operate the refrigerator from changing temperature, how to care for the cooper water line behind the refrigerator, what product to use to clean the stainless steel doors, how to flush out the water dispenser, in cleaning the condenser coils. They was careful in removing the existing refrigerator and bringing in the new refrigerator thru the multiple door openings. Delivery was on time. My concerns has been noted in the delivery ticket of the refrigerator door seal bulging out and asking for a replacement refrigerator door. Installer Brian Oeun took photos of the problem of the refrigerator door of the seal bulging inside as well as Santino have seen the bulging seal.

The sale person are amazing especially the internet sale. I had questions of replacing my existing Kenmore Elite side by side refrigerator and Michael Lopez was amazing to corresponding back and forth via e-mail with specs, model number of refrigerator that is similar to Kenmore Elite. Michael have referred me to an in house sale person when I visit Abt but the sale person was not available at 9:00a.m and start at 10:00a.m. so I was referred to Doris Bogdanescu. Doris was awesome in showing the different models that fit my criteria and of the existing Kenmore Elite refrigerator.

I have heard fabulous things of Abt and it was highly recommended to go to Abt Electronics from several of my coworkers. My boss have mentioned he wish he had purchased his refrigerator from Abt Electronics instead of Lowes. It was highly recommend as Abt Electronics does crawl spaces as part of the ice maker installation charge unlike Home Depot who does not do crawl spaces and I would have to hire a separate plumber. This will be the place to buy future appliances. You will not be disappointed with the services from sale people to installation and calling customer services.

We recently completed a major HVAC project at our home in Riverwoods, Illinois, and who would've known it but to our surprise, we heard that ABT was in the HVAC business. After shopping around, we decided to go with ABT and purchased a 4 ton and 5 ton HVAC units, a boiler, and a tankless water heater.

This was a complicated project, from an aesthetics standpoint it came out great, It should be featured in Better Homes & Gardens of utility rooms, it's a real piece of art!

Although this is not a perfect story, the process wasn’t without its challenges, as we had team after team come out to troubleshoot issues, it was at that point I came to realize that if we had chosen any of the other companies, they likely would have walked away after receiving our payment. However, when it comes to customer service and wanting to make a customer happy any business could take a page from these guys.

ABT’s commitment to customer service was truly impressive. From day one, Service Manager, Dan Raysby, assured us they wouldn’t leave the job until we were completely satisfied. One persistent issue was with the dampers not closing properly, which required multiple visits to resolve. At one point, I thought I’d have to settle for a less than perfect system, but Dan reminded me of his original promise. He ended up delivering on that promise by involving the manufacturer, along with his team, they finally got everything working to our satisfaction.

The bottom line: if I had gone with any other company, I highly doubt I would have received this level of service and dedication. It’s rare to find a company that will come back again and again on their own time and expense to ensure the job is done right. I highly recommend ABT!

So, my wall heater/ac went out in Feb. Got a brand new unit and when they come to install it, they said that the plug on unit wasn't same plug as wall plug and they couldn't install it and had to reschedule the installation because they didn't have the part. Mind you this is Feb in Northen Illinois. So had to wait another week for them to come back. So I get the unit installed the next week and there is a duct adapter that goes on top of the unit to circulate heat/air into other rooms. The one from the other unit didn't fit on new unit and this is were it gets fun. So ordered the correct vent, took a little over a week. Come out and they ordered the wrong part. OK just a mistake. So they leave the box in my living room saying they didn't have a ticket to return it. They ordered the "right" part. Another week passes and they come and the tech who shows up says he only dileveries and don't install anything. ABT knew that this piece needed to be installed and didn't send an installer. So had to reschedule for another week. They come out a week later and where at house for 30 min and talked to me saying that they couldn't mount it and they needed to send out a fabricator. So another week passes and they come out again. Were here for just over an hr and talked to me again saying I would need a custom vent to fit the venting system. So had to reschedule and order the correct part again. So part comes in about 2 weeks later and scheduled an install for after 12 on a Sat so I didn't have to take off work again. They call me at 9am saying they are 10 min away from my residence. Good thing I wasn't at work at the time. Asked them how long it was going to take to install and tech said I am only dropping the part off not installing because that is not his job. No it is the end of March and still have a box laying in my living room because they can't get anything right. Called customer service to get a tech out after the delivery of latest vent and they couldn't even get a hold of there installation manager. So sitting here waiting for a call and will probably have to reschedule for another week yet again. I would not recommend using this company. Very high ineptitude and no organization from top to bottom. Can't justify going to somebody's property 8 times for samething acceptable.

We just had a dishwasher installed. The 2 installers Rob and Pat were beyond great. Rob may have also saved us a lot of money as he pointed out a serious issue with a hot water tank. I’d also call the 2 of them perfectionists as the leveled and measured everything to get it perfect. We will be calling abt’s plumbing dept to fix the hot water tank.

I have had good experience with ABT but still have to give a low rating because of a purchase. Reason is that we purchased a Samsung Fridge RF263BEAE and apparently they have a water leaking problem which we have dealt with there is even a class action lawsuit out on Samsung on 22 of there models. I guess I don’t understand why ABT would sell their fridges if they have this problem. Also I know 4 people that own fridge and they all have same problem.

Chris and Marcos are pros and they are meticulous as can be to make sure nothing gets bumped or damaged when bringing in appliances. They understand that home inspectors will want the anti tip bracket installed on the stove and they use stainless steel braided hoses for water lines. They also told me they are using fire retardant flexible tubing for dryers that is comparable to a sheet metal rigid exhaust venting. They are good guys and you can tell they take pride in their work. On the sales side George Mavraganis always takes good care of me and my real estate clients. Thank you ABT.

Voula Ballas is by far the best sales person I have dealt with as an adult with real house needs both planned and unplanned. Thinking of upgrading kitchen, call Voula! Have a sump pump and water heater emergency, call Voula! I actually feel lucky that I am a repeat customer. Almost feels like I have an in with a celebrity. She even follows up with calls to make sure we are using our appliances to the fullest! And EVERY delivery and install we have had (which is many) has been professional, courteous and on time.

The two delivery men from Abt Appliances worked very hard to move our old refrigerator to the basement and hook up a new water line for the new ice maker. Having just moved here we did not know where the water main was. They took their time to find it and did a great job!

Our salesman was 150% fabulous! He answered all my questions, yet did not hover. He listened and was extremely knowledgeable. He was even able to get me 4 day delivery, since get knew my refrigerator had died that morning. Only problem, delivery would not hook up water/ice machine, due to my copper tubing is in the floor, and my basement ceiling is finished. Otherwise, the delivery service was excellent also. I plan to return in six months to purchase, range, microwave, and dishwasher.

REVIEW UPDATE: After my initial review, which wasn't very good, ABT called right away to make things right. They have good customer service which is hard to find anywhere nowadays. They sent out a tech and turns out there was rice in the drain pipe which is why there was standing water and the dishwasher wouldn't drain. Turned out to be my fault, rinse your dishes people.
