I was so lucky to find this company, I was looking for a last minute trip and, although the booking period had closed, Harriet worked her magic and got me a place. The trip itself was unbelievable (Botswana Wildlife, Okavango Delta & Victoria Falls Safari). Camping amongst the animals (not in a park, just out in the wild), listening to hyenas and elephants walking past in the middle of the night was pretty scary, but what an experience. We were well fed with food cooked on a campfire and kept really busy with bushwalks, swimming in the delta and various other activities.

The Safari was the best part of our trip to South Africa! Harriet was wonderful to work with and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. Chamaca bush camp was amazing and perfectly matched the photos! Overall it was a wonderful time and we will be back!

Quite a few years ago I contacted ABS to organize a couple of safari tours for me. I was going to be in Africa for about 5 weeks and had some ideas of what I wanted to do and see. In the end Harriet booked me on a Drifters Overland Tour and as I wished also on a Kruger Safari with Viva Safaris. When the time came to travel however the pandemic struck and everything was cancelled. But instead of cancelling everything and loosing everything and trouble with insurances Harriet just moved everything along (several times). I am very thankful to her for doing so and re-booking time and again. Finally in September this year I was on my way to Cape Town and absolutely everything went smooth from the airport pick up to the drop off in Joburg airport. Harriet had picked the most charming hostel for me in Cape Town and Lodge in Joburg. The Drifters 24 day Overland Safari was absolutely amazing and so was the Viva Safari to Kruger. I had an adventure of a lifetime.
Once again Thanks to Harriet for sticking with me for such a long time and for accommodating all the changes over the years. I certainly could not have done this without you. If you don't know what you want or even if you do give ABS a ring and they will sort everything. I can't recommend them highly enough. I certainly will book with ABS again.

We had the most fantastic experience with African Safaris. The trip had to be postponed several times because of Covid and Harriet was so helpful al the way through. The lodges and the Staff were fantastic and the transfers smooth and stress free. I will definitely travel with this company again. Excellent value for money.

Harriet booked an 8 day trip to Kenya for us and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was covered and we didn't have to think about anything once we got there. All events were smooth and we had almost no trouble. We had one or two small bumps in the road, but that happens when things are weather dependent. I highly recommend Harriet and African Budget Safaris!

African Budget Safari was flawless in every aspect of this booking. Fuss-free booking process with African Budget Safari. Harriet did a great job in assisting us to book a night stay hotel in Johannesburg before heading off to Kruger. Our safari guide was really friendly and knowledgable, making our first camping experience stay a memorable one in SA. We will definitely be back again with African Budget Safari!

We had a wonderful Safari organized by African Budget Safari at Lake Nakuru and in the Masai Mara. The organization was perfect, everything worked out smoothly and Harriet always responded right away if we had questions. We had a great guide and loved the lodges they had chosen for us. Perfect stay.

It's difficult to put into words just what an amazing experience we had with Harriet at African Budget Safaris. ABS arranged the safari through Asili Adventures in Nairobi, who subcontracted to Vimat / Vincent Matari in Tanazania. As we had a variable family group -- from my 88-year-old retired geologist father (whose lifelong dream had been to visit the Rift Valley) to my 11-year-old very active son -- we opted for high-end lodges and no camping.

In brief, everything was perfect (or very nearly so), from the early morning game drives to the evenings spent together over dinner, recapping each day's wonders. Our guide George was incredibly knowledgeable and personable, and helped us see not only the "Big 5" (the Black Rhino was at a bit of a distance, but we captured him with telephoto lenses so we're counting that as a check off the list...) but also got us a front row seat on the migration, with wildebeest and zebra crossing by the thousands directly in front of our vehicle.

The lodges were fabulous, with each of us having our favorites (mine was Escarpment Luxury Lodge at Lake Manyara, others loved Fumba Beach Lodge on Zanzibar -- such a great rest at the end (I had TWO hour-long massages on consecutive days; what an indulgence!) -- and my father loved the view over the Serengeti from his porch at Mbalageti Serengeti Camp. As a whole, our overall favorite was Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, for the professionalism of the staff, appointments in the accommodations, proximity to the crater, cultural programming, and especially the food, which was outstanding every night. The chef, a South African, had great attention to detail -- came out our first night and introduced himself, addressing our dietary concerns and assuring us that anything could be made special if the menu items did not appeal -- which always trickles down to the entire kitchen and dining room staff, in our experience. Escarpment wins the silver for dining, with Fumba not too far behind (the manager there, ex-pat Canadian Maggie, was also very attentive). Food at Mbalageti could use some improving.

I cannot recommend a safari booked through Harriet at ABS more highly. We will be forever grateful to for the experience and the wonderful family memories made -- truly a dream come true!

How African Safari was a wonderful experience. Everything went according to plan. The pre- tour information was comprehensive and Harriet who was our contact replied to all our requests promptly. The guide and driver were professional and always atuned to our needs. The accommodation was as described, clean and comfortable. The game viewing could not have been better. Loved it all.

This was a fantastic company to work with. Everything on their website is an exact depiction of what is included in the safari. There were zero surprises. As most of us are planning a safari outside of Africa, they were extremely quick to respond to all my questions (shout out to Harriet!). I would highly recommend them and I would definitely use them again.

A tremendous walking safari organised by Harriet at African Budget Safaris. A special treat for my wife on her 50th Birthday which was perfect in terms of organisation and content as well as being very reasonably priced. What a thrill to be waking amongst wild animals but feeling very safe. Sleeping under the stars was also very special. Highly recommended.👍🏼

Communication between myself and Harriet at African Budget Safaris was excellent. From the moment I made my initial enquiry via email to post trip when Harriet emailed to ask how the trip went, Harriet always answered my queries promptly and seemed genuinely interested in making our trip perfect, which it was.

Harriet even arranged for the safari company to pick us up from a private address as we weren't staying at a hotel.

Harriet was very helpful and found me a last minute safari right away since I was booking last minute and at their very busy season. I was so glad they were able to make it happen. I had the most unforgettable experience at the Tangala Safari camp! From the accommodation to the safari overall I would rate it a 100.
