AVOID AT ALL COSTS I am appalled by the…

AVOID AT ALL COSTS I am appalled by the level of service I have received from Argos. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered.
We ordered a sofa online, which was due to be delivered on Saturday. In preparation for the delivery, we disposed of our existing sofa, leaving us with nowhere to sit, as we had every reason to believe Argos would fulfil its delivery commitment.
Shortly before delivery, we were informed that the sofa had a large tear in it. Instead of providing a suitable solution, we were offered a token £50 discount on a damaged product. We understandably declined this and rearranged delivery for the earliest available date, Wednesday 1st July.
To accommodate this rearranged delivery, we both took unpaid leave from work, costing us money. We then received a phone call telling us the delivery drivers were outside our property. We immediately went outside, only to find there was no delivery van. When I called back on the exact same number, another adviser claimed to know nothing about the call and informed me that the delivery vehicle had actually broken down at 10:30am. If that was the case, why were we told the drivers were outside? The complete lack of communication and contradictory information is simply unacceptable.
We were then passed from one adviser to another, each giving different information. I was told to call back after 6pm, only to be told that nobody could help and that I would have to call again the following morning. The next morning, I was told there was still no update and someone would call me back. Nobody did. Instead, I received a text saying the sofa would be delivered that day before 9pm. Once again, this proved to be false. When I chased this myself, I was then informed that delivery had been pushed back yet again until Monday 6th July, meaning we now have to lose even more money by taking additional unpaid time off work.
What is even more shocking is the complete lack of accountability. When I attempted to make a formal complaint about this disgraceful experience, I was told that an internal complaint could be logged but that nobody would contact me about it. I was then told that if I wanted my complaint to be properly considered, I would have to write to Head Office myself. That is an astonishingly poor complaints process and demonstrates a complete disregard for customers.
As a result of Argos’ repeated failures, we have:
● Been without a sofa since 27th June.
● Lost money through taking unpaid leave from work on more than one occasion.
● Been repeatedly misled with inaccurate and conflicting information.
● Wasted hours of our own time chasing updates because nobody from Argos communicated with us.
● Been left with absolutely no confidence that Argos values its customers or honours its commitments.
The entire experience has been stressful, frustrating and completely avoidable had there been competent communication and customer service. I am genuinely shocked that a company of Argos’ size operates to such a poor standard.
This experience has completely destroyed my confidence in Argos. I will not be purchasing from you again, and I will be sharing my experience with others so they are aware of the level of service they may receive.

Purchased a cooker in November 2025. Never worked properly. Had 3 engineers out, after 1 replacing the thermostat nearly burnt house down!! Totally overheated smoke alarms going off. The 'new' thermostat was faulty. They have the cooker but the refund has gone back to my Argos pay account - which has zero balance. Was told the refund could go back to my bank because of this but now having trouble doing this. I DO NOT want to purchase from here again but they are holding my money. I have just spoken to the most patronising, sarcastic person. I am 84 years old and do not need this type of conversation. I have virtually had no use of a cooker for over 7 months and I definitely do not want to purchase my next one from here. The cooker has been paid in full via my bank I therefore want the money back in to my bank.

Store with helpful staff

Recently bought a radio & another item from Argos situated inside Sainsbury, Wadsley Bridge, Sheffield. The
staff in this store are polite & friendly.
I was served by Chris & the Manager Toni, who I found to be most helpful. They helped me in purchasing the radio & also operating it, as I was experiencing difficulty. The service offered is much appreciated.

Disaster - Stay Away

Like many others, I found that my gas supply was switched off by Argos without my knowledge, not even an email or an app notification was sent! What kind of company is this?!

Even if they are the cheapest provider, I will never consider Argos again. A joke of a company with 0 customer communication.

To make matters worse, they have taken money from my account and not even refunded it back!

This is a relatively new store in padova, and every few month the salesmans are changed.
I guess its because the superior company of argos are receiving a lot of complaints about the salesmans that are SCAM ARTISTS, stay away from this company!

Last march i moved to a new apartment and was looking for a company to supply me with gas. After seeing the good reviews for argos on trustpilot I decided to go to the nearby store here in padova and make a contract there.
I met there samira and later on Monika, who both pretended to be extremely nice and kind. they gave me a lot of notebooks as gifts. samira also kept repeating that with Argos I have the lowest prices on the market:

She offered 0.45€ for 1smc, and promised me that the quota fissa is one of the lowest in the market and only 6€ a month.
I signed the contract and she gave me a printed copy, said that I’ll get another finalized copy on the email. this one did not arrive.
A few months later I noticed that the bills were too expensive considering that I’m barely at home cooking in the summer.
I took a look on the bills and was surprised to see that I’m paying 1.02€ per smc and 16€ quota fissa each month.

I obv went to the Argos store to clarify this, I took with me the copy of my contract that they gave me. Upon arriving there I was shocked to hear Monika saying to me that “2 pages were missing from my contact”.
With a very fake smile and kindness that made me wanna throw up, she even printed them for me to see that I basically had a whole different contract from the one i signed. To soften and flatter me a little more, she took out of her wardrobe 2 notebooks a calendar and another set of books, and gave them to me as a “gift”. maybe she already understood how furious i was and tried to prevent me from submitting a complaint (HAHA)
in addition to all of this, the site/up of argos is very unfriendly and i also had problems with the mistaken estimated consumption. they charged me every month for 130 smc, instead of 10!!! for comunicating the actual consumption, they expect me to **go** at the end of every month to the store in order to *show* a picture of the lettura.

I am still waiting for my refund btw, after 3 months of hell dealing with them, and with the general costumer service of argos.
Do yourself a favor, stay away from this company and warn your friends!

Visiting Argos store in Alloa last…

Visiting Argos store in Alloa last Friday we had to return an item with a warranty and collect an item and also make a purchase. We were very pleased with the assistance from Linda who made the whole process so easy for us, she was really helpful and made shopping really easy. Thanks again Linda
