"The university's 'no mercy' policy for a 15-day tuition delay is harsh. It's shocking that even a beggar might lend money, but the university shows no such understanding. This is a shameful way to treat students."

Fantastic careers service

Dear Bath Careers Service,

Thank You for Your Outstanding Careers Support

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible support my son has received from your team. He is currently studying Business Management and French and has successfully secured two placements, thanks in no small part to the guidance and resources provided by your department.

As a recruiter, coach, and someone who regularly works with employers and students, I have a broad perspective on the level of careers support offered across different universities. I frequently advise students, many of whom are looking for placements, and I’m often struck by how many receive little to no employability support let alone employer connections. This makes Bath’s careers service stand out even more.

Beyond the exceptional employability advice you offer, Bath provides students with access to an outstanding network of partner employers—many of whom exclusively recruit from the university.

At a recent recruiting event, I spoke with a former head of careers at L’Oréal who shared that Bath graduates were their preferred candidates, a distinction she attributed directly to the support and preparation your team provides.

Years ago, when I led careers at Deutsche Bank, Bath was a Tier 1 university for us. It’s clear that your commitment to developing students’ employability remains as strong as ever. The work you do is invaluable, and I wanted to personally acknowledge and thank you for the difference you make.

Well done !

Best regards,

Nadia

Worst university ever

I find it funny how Google Reviews doesn't want to show my review, unless it's the university trying to hide the bad things away but anyway I will write it here :)

The professors do not offer extra support when you need it (whether it's in terms of asking further questions about a topic or in terms of your needs/difficulties/disability/etc.), the personal tutor is not doing a great job at being a personal tutor, and professors can be unfriendly and rude. The facilities can be poor at times, including the buses. The campus can feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. I do not get how this university is one of the top ones when it's very poorly, especially when colourism and very bad ableism is prevalent. The services, such as the counsellor, can be self biased and trying to make the university is innocent when it isn't. I find it astonishingly unsympathetic and unempathetic how one professor compared this university to the University of Bristol in aspect of the numbers of something (which I am not going to mention, but if you know, you know) bragging about how this university is "excellent" in student wellbeing when they are totally not. Funny how they're getting away with this. They're literally stealing money without offering what is worth for - literal money grabbers. Severe mental health also comes with this poorly place. Their attitude is the reason why I forced to switch universities. I only appreciate the Student Union and the Disability Services for understanding me and helping me get through.

Think twice - do you want to go to here because they're one of the top universities and that means better degree value (no matter how actually bad it is), or do you want to go to a university (doesn't matter the ranking) where they literally give you worth £9k of things?

THINK BEFORE YOU CHOOSE THIS UNIVERSITY

Ableist university. They never gave me the support I needed. My personal tutor was absolutely uncontactable and I had professors who told me they cannot give "answers" to me when all I asked for was support. When I mentioned this to the Head, no action was taken. This is totally a joke. The departments can be rude and uncaring. They do not understand neurodiversity, and I have received some colourism as well from my own department, and I have received unnecessary penalties even when I had proof I have not done it. It's a total joke this university. All they care about is robbing money from us and not providing proper education to fellow students. The absolute trauma I have received left me to forcefully drop out, with financial difficulties in which they don't care about because apparently "all they've done to me hasn't materially affected me", and I have developed serious mental health issues, without getting my justice back. IF YOU ARE NEURODIVERSE PLEASE RECONSIDER. The SU and the Disability Team were the best nevertheless, but sadly the departments and other facilities at this university have the absolute power.

A nightmare

This University dismisses students and allows them to be called stupid in the middle of a packed lecture theatre and lets it's lecturing staff make a mockery of students' work. Taking opinion-based essays and then belittling that opinion.
If you respect yourself or you children. Don't come here

BTW still applicable in 2024

i have booked a campus tour with my son…

i have booked a campus tour with my son for this Saturday. I then booked a hotel to visit Bath to do the tour. I have not had a confirmation email with the details of the tour, where to meet etc. The campus events team do not reply to emails and if you try to phone them you get a message saying they are very busy and can't answer the phone. i can't cancel the hotel. I run the risk of travelling all the way to Bath and find they have no record of my booking. These are the people who are supposed to be attracting new students to the university???
