I like the money escrow feature - saves tyre kickers and lowball offers at the door

I dislike the fee structure. When my car sold for £2600, (£250 enhanced auction fee plus minimum sale fee of £600+ VAT I ended up with £1630. Ie the effective cost of sticking in the auction was 37% of the sale cost. I would probably have done better on Ebay given these costs.

Car and Classic are a very professional outfit and my dealings with James Kijowski and Ian Macrae have been very satisfactory. However, the winning bidder for my vehicle was very difficult to contact and delayed his pick up of my car until the last possible moment which caused me various issues which I am only now getting resolved.

A great website, easy to list your vehicle. Mine sold effectively in 24 hours { guy took 3 days to come to inspect } and sold for full asking price with no discussion on price. Very happy and would recommend to anyone. Had a least 6 other enquiries so site obviously works.

Very Good sales Auction,my car didn't sell First time reserve price not met,so it was relisted and the guys went above & beyond to get it sold second time,I final got the price I wanted.Also only charge 6% charges + vat. we're other Auctions wanted 10% + vat.

My first time using Car & Classic as a private seller. Simple to use website providing free valuations and free adverts to sell your car, with options to pay for enhanced promotions. I went with the free option to start with.

Had people expressing interest on the first evening and it sold to a private buyer within 24-hours. Plus a garage offering a decent price if the first buyer didn't finalise - thankfully he did. So it couldn't have been a better selling experience really.

Both said they were impressed with the amount of detail I included in the advert rather than just brief highlights and the fact that any known faults / issues were highlighted - so I would recommend doing that.

Helpful & efficient

Being a petrol head and classic car enthusiast I have used C&C several times.
Its a great platform for putting a car in front of the correct people.
Very easy to use although one has to be wary of scammers as they are usually the first to approach and come in different guises.

I've now used C & C for over 10 years and truly believe that it's the best portal to sell any kind of cherished car with.
I've sold over 70 cars through them, mainly from my classic collection, but last week sold my modern Aston as a trial against Autotrader and the likes. The quality of potential buyers is way ahead and full asking price achieved, in the same way as my quattro went a month ago.

Easy to use website and a great response to the advert from all over the UK. Highly recommended!

Used the auction route. The photography was superb The description was pretty good and the sale price exceeded my reserve. The commission isn't too bad but after trying a private advert for months it got the result I wanted.
