If I could give zero stars, I would

If I could give zero stars, I would. The worst insurance company I have had the displeasure of working with. They do not call you back. I have had to reach out multiple times because they don't seem to be making any progress on my claim, and they don't really care to keep you updated or work on a solution. The state came back with a determination letter for my short term disability two weeks before my case with guardian even progressed. They said they were missing information but didn't once try to reach out or get that information, or even let me know that they were missing stuff, from my employer nonetheless. I call and every time there's no case manager, no supervisor, no one to talk to. They say they will call back within 2 business days, but a whole week will go by without hearing anything. Again, I have to chase them down to find out anything. The customer service reps have no clue what they are doing and are just deer in the headlights when you ask any question of substance. This stuff is extremely important, and they are playing with people's livelihoods, and seem to enjoy the fact that there's "nothing they can do". If their whole purpose was to scam everyone out of their money, they would be the best in the business. I just cannot explain in words how dissatisfied and disappointed I am in this shit show of a company. Do better

Absolutely awful experience

Absolutely awful experience. My daughter needed a bridge for teeth missing from a birth defect. Guardian denied the claim stating they don't allow bridges when teeth were extracted prior to the bridge. That's not the case, we submitted proof with xrays that she never had these teeth, denied again no communication. Going on for 5 months. Customer service just keeps saying the same thing over and over again. Claimed denied and lists the reasons on the EOB which don't make any sense. They can't tell you anything, they don't let you see what the dentist uploaded. If my company didn't use them I would never use them again.

Agent James DeMatteo is a fraud

Hello,

I'm writing this as a PSA to all NJ families looking for a financial advisor to help grow their hard earned money and set their kids up for the future. Do not by any means entrust your money to Agent James DeMatteo. This man bills himself as a certified financial planner and is a rep for the Guardian insurance company. I have extensive details for anyone who wants to contact me. The TLDR on him is that he is heavily incentivized to violate his fiduciary duties towards his clients and take away thousands of their dollars by manipulating them to sign up for "Whole Life" policies offered by Guardian. He attempts to obfuscate the cost of this policy (amounts that could range from 15-19k a year) by omitting the term yearly premium and using the more ambiguous "Cash Value Life Insurance" in the illustration of the policy. There are no formal sit downs to discuss the exact nature of the policy before signing, he sends you a flurry of documents to sign via email. Essentially, for a week or so, you are bombarded with many documents to sign, with most of these documents having to do with investments and not life insurance. His hope is that you are overwhelmed by the influx of information and just sign all the documents. Having obtained your signatures, he now has an email chain that covers his rear end and Guardian's; There is technically now proof that you understand completely what you are getting into, when in fact you have barely any idea. He works in gusto to attach you to these "Whole Life" insurance policies and makes himself rather absent in the crucial period of 10 days when you could still cancel the policy, failing to respond to emails, etc. The email chain that I mentioned is imperative because if you do end up contesting this with the Guardian company, they will refer to this email chain as proof that the agent acted appropriately and that you, the policy owner absolutely knew you were signing up for such a hefty commitment. James receives more than half of the premium you pay as commission, with Guardian getting the rest. Besides the insanely high premium these policies cost, they perform far far worse for families than term + percentages of your income devoted to investments. James never sat down and told me the difference of these coverages and strategies, he simply pressed a policy onto me that put a lot of money in his pocket while immediately straining my family's budget. He basically stole money that would have helped secure a future for my two sons and provide them with funds with whatever they needed should I pass away. I have an important and easy to understand PDF file showing you why the whole life policy is an inferior option for the policy owner vis a vis the term + investment strategy, I'll send it over to anyone who asks. Please do not make the same mistake I did; do not do any business with this man.

His work details:

NorthEast Financial Network
101 Crawfords Corner Road, Suite 2405

If you ever see this man at Bell Works, don't listen to a single word he has to say about financial planning. Avoid him like the plague.

MI would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for dental insurance.y experience with Guardian Dental…

My experience with Guardian Dental Insurance has been extremely frustrating. The customer service representatives I’ve dealt with have been unhelpful and, in some cases, have hung up as soon as I asked questions that required them to actually investigate or resolve an issue.

The monthly premiums are far too expensive considering how low Guardian’s allowable amounts are. The value simply does not match the cost, and I feel that customers are left to deal with the consequences.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for dental insurance. I would not recommend Guardian Dental Insurance.

THE WORST!!!

Run away from this coverage! RUN! AWAY! They will change benefit plan provisions in the middle of the year. They will not communicate those changes with you. They will take your dentist off of their network. This is by far the worst dental coverage I have ever had in my life. And, when you call the toll-free number, you cannot even get Guardian's claims department, it is outsourced to an off-shore account. STAY AWAY!!!

The claims manager

The claims manager, Shayla Brown stated she did not have time to process of my claim because she was leaving for vacation. She closed the claim one day after opening. The corporate office stated that they were fine with this.

I'd leave 0 stars if I could

I'd leave 0 stars if I could.

This company is a complete scam, don't donate your money to these liars and thieves because if the time comes that you actually need them, they will do every single thing possible in their power to make sure that you are ON YOUR OWN.

Save yourself some time and money, choose literally any other company.

Dodgy Communication, Delay, Delay, Delay

I had a short term claim that ran its entire 180 days. I was only contacted by a claim manager when my employer fired me. Guardian ignored fax confirmations and documents submitted by my medical team, until "days after" my claim timed out. Their words. All of the papers suddenly came through after the denial. I appealed and they want to wait from February till May to approve my STD claim, days after my surgery. Now, in my LTD claim, they are saying a 2024 yeast infection was proof that my endometriosis was pre-existing. Denied claim. Appeal in June and they refuse to send me the documents from my short term claim that I signed to receive in March, telling me to withdraw my appeal. They do not base their medical decisions on up to date diagnosis and treatment standards. They will twist your providers words for their benefit. Guardian takes all the time they want but will ignore you and impose unrealistic deadlines on you, that they themselves couldn't keep up with. I lost a kidney and bowel segments to endometriosis. I lost months of income and mental peace to Guardian.

Francis Lustre 10/10 Service

Francis Lustre contacted me in response to my response to an Instagram post. He was excellent - not pushy at all, flexible around times, willing, and able to answer any questions. For the follow-up meeting, Francis was prepared and positive. I would highly recommend.

I’d give them zero stars if I could

I’d give them zero stars if I could. Paid family medical leave still haven’t received any payments almost a month. When I call I’m told someone will get back to me. They never do. I’ve called at least 4 times. With different questions no one has ever gotten back to me. Called again today to get forms to extend my leave for the doctor to fill out. Told they sent it to my email, they did not. never got any email with form for doctor. Weekend coming up and my fmla return to work date is June 1st. Probably not going to get forms to extend my leave in time. It shouldn’t be this difficult This company so far has been terrible. Especially when you’re sick.

Customer service nonexistent…

Customer service is literally nonexistent. A farce. I called their number and got a bot named Hugo. Was offered to be sent a text to do a live chat. I did that and ended up chatting with Hugo again. I then was led through a series of questions I couldn’t answer and it said it would send me to a live agent. Thank god. We’ll never mind because an agent (I suspect it was actually another bot) said “can I help you?” and literally never returned to the chat. Guardian sucks just like every other greedy insurance conglomerate.

They are the worst

They are the worst. They pay for nothing..there is always a reason to deny a claim. They structure it so they're basically off the hook for everything. They only seem to pay for teeth cleanings. Forget calling them.. its all a stupid AI that makes keyboard sounds. Lame. Then if you want a live person, you have to go to chat. There is no speaking with someone. Chat is a huge fail as well. I'm still waiting for "Kushal" to respond. Pretty sure he disconnected.. I assume because I asked a question that they cannot answer with copy and paste canned response. Looks like another outsourced nightmare. I will be cancelling this POS coverage. All the dental places I need to go to is out of network anyway. I'd rather pay out of pocket at this point..oh wait, I ALREADY AM!

This is the worst insurance in the world. After submitting my EOI, I was denied due to my "history of". What does that mean. Diagnosed with congested heart failure and I put in a claim within the same month I of open enrollment and got response from Guardian. Denied due to history of congested heart failure. What the H_ _ L! I did not have a history, I was just diagnosed. My employer provides this crappy insurance. SO SAD!
