My auto insurance was mistakenly canceled by Citizens for no reason

My auto insurance was mistakenly canceled without my authorization. A week later they sent me a letter stating policy was terminated and they were going to credit my account. At that point I figured out my wife and I had been driving over 7 days without auto insurance. When I contacted Citizens to ask them what happened and the rationale behind the cancelation, they had no answers as to how or why it happened. They then decided to reinstate my insurance back to the original date and said that's all they could do. I requested Citizens to pay me back for the week I didn't have insurance and they refused. I talked to 3 different staff members and it took over an hour of talking between the 3 people to offer an apology. Im totally frustrated with Citizens and am strongly considering canceling, both my home an auto insurance policy. I also have to deal with my lease company and have to explain why I canceled my insurance. I finally got a staff member to send an email to my lease company to try and keep them from taking action against me. Im totally disgusted with Citizens customer service. All they cared about was correcting the policy in their system and didn't care about the repercussions of myself, the policy owner. I am still waiting for additional action from Citizens but dont even expect anymore contact. It's sad to see companys not showing any empathy or concern for a problem that was created by themselves.

We have had Citizen’s insurance for 10…

We have had Citizen’s insurance for 10 years for Auto, home, and watercraft. While dealing with an auto claim our adjuster Tammy Bailey was absolutely horrible, rude and terrible customer skills. At one point we had to tell her to be quiet stop talking over us and to have an adult conversation. Either Tammy hates her job or needs some customer service training. We will be switching insurance companies and not renewing our policies.

Helpful with young adult

Our insurance agent has been extremely helpful and responsive. As our teen has transitioned to adulthood, they were great with insurance coverage on the new driver, then his renter's insurance, and now transitioning toward him paying his portion and eventually having his own coverage. They have been extremely kind with him as he's been learning the basics of coverage, and I truly appreciate their patience. On a broader level, I also deeply respect their commitment to the community and involvement in organizations devoted to making it a better place.

It actually was the experience with my son's claim that made me come to you. I am happy that I did since the service has been excellent and my agent is fantastic.

CITIZENS & PROGRESSIVE AUTO/HOME

I used CITIZENS and PROGRESSIVE for over 10 years as a senior citizen and just discovered they have been grossly ripping me off for over a decade!! I don’t know how they can look in the mirror at night knowing that you can go to AARP for 75% off of what they charge. They don’t deserve 1* and didn’t even try to keep me from leaving as I am a member in good standing! Would never recommend them to any friends or family.
