Poor experience online and disregard for consumer rights

Ordered some sandals I wanted for ages, and was so excited to receive them. UPS gave me two delivery dates, and failed to deliver each time. Contacted Hermes and let them know, it became apparent that UPS had lost the parcel with no updates on tracking.

Asked for a refund, as is my consumer right and my contract was with Hermes not UPS, they told me they didn’t actually know it was lost, and would have to investigate and they wouldn’t refund me until an investigation is complete. This is simply ridiculous, their investigation is with UPS and nothing to do with me. They have said at last today they will issue a refund, which I have not received. Thankfully I paid my PayPal so if nothing is received by the end of the day I’ll be raising a dispute.

It is disgraceful for a “luxury” retailer to leave you without a product and out of pocket whilst they conduct an investigation. They didn’t even offer me a refund today, they offered a replacement I had to request a refund.

For my first time ordering with Hermes, I certainly won’t bother again and wish I’d read the reviews here first. Shocking treatment of customers and certainly not a luxury experience!

Terrible online shopping experience

Terrible online shopping experience. I placed an order on 25/06, only to receive an email telling me I had to call them by 26/06 or my order might be cancelled. They insisted that it could only be resolved over the phone.
If I'm shopping online, it's because I don't want or have time to make unnecessary phone calls. Otherwise, I would have shopped in person. Instead, I had to send two emails explaining that I wasn't going to call and asking them to cancel my order.
All this hassle for a simple online purchase? No thanks. I won't be ordering from them again.

I purchased a pair of Hermès Legend Sandals

I purchased a pair of Hermès Legend Sandals, tried them on at home, and immediately realized the size was too small. I then ordered the next size up. The sandals were only tried on indoors, on parquet flooring and carpet, exactly as any customer would do when assessing the fit of footwear purchased online.

To my disbelief, Hermès refused my return because there were tiny marks on the extremely soft leather sole. This is completely unreasonable. It is impossible to properly try on a sandal without the sole making contact with the floor. Even in the cleanest home, microscopic dust particles exist. As a consumer, you have the legal and practical right to try on footwear purchased online to determine whether it fits.

I am now left with two pairs of sandals that I cannot use. I contacted Sofie from Hermès Paris, but instead of finding a reasonable solution, she repeatedly hid behind company policy and showed no willingness to consider the circumstances. The conversation felt robotic, inflexible, and completely lacking in customer care or basic human understanding.

For a luxury brand that charges premium prices, the level of customer service is shockingly poor. Hermès appears to have unrealistic and excessive return requirements that are simply incompatible with normal online shopping behavior. The way they treat loyal customers shows a complete lack of respect.

This experience has permanently changed my perception of Hermès. Judging by the many similar reviews from other customers, I am clearly not alone. There are countless luxury brands offering better quality, better service, and a far greater appreciation for their customers.

Never again Hermès.

Very dissatisfied - buyer beware

I ordered a tie as a birthday present for a 21st, ordered in plenty of time for the birthday date. The tie is a new, slimmer width and therefore very narrow and not to the recipients taste. I phoned to return but was told I had missed the 14 day return window. I was advised I could exchange only. I gave all my order details etc. and said I needed to ask the recipient to choose an alternative tie. I then phoned 4 working days later to arrange the exchange and was told that I was now out of the 30 day exchange window from the date of receipt of the order. The customer service advisor remembered my previous call, and I said that this was inside the 30 day window so could they not help me with an exchange. The answer was just a sharp NO. I now have a very expensive tie that is not suitable. I will never buy from Hermes again. With these prices you expect better - you get better from the high street shops. Very disappointed. Poor Customer service.

Firstly when i went there it was just too crowded
And the lady who was helping me pick my shoes was super rude she looked at me as if i lived with the rats,their costumer service is terrjble and this is the dubai msll branch i am talking about,so please careful who your hiring becuase i am offended!

Chengdhu Hermes branch…

I visited the Chengdhu Hermes branch where I chose a bag and when I wanted to purchase it they then said I was required to spend an additional 200,000 Yuen ( over £20,000) on anything else or I could my buy it! What a waste of everyone’s time The staff were arrogant and I was left feeling as if they were laughing at me. They do not deserve the business

Not even one star

Not even one star! I have worked in luxury brands most of my life and I was left speechless in Hermes Harrods Accessories dept. I was given a scarf for my birthday, cashmere and silk £960. Due to two surgeries, I did not leave my house for over 6 months except hospital appointments. I wore the scarf for few times and the threads were pulling off, scarf was bubbling like mohair ??!? Explained everything to Hermes and Harrods customer service and they refused to even exchange it for another item!

Purchased Oran sandals

Purchased Oran sandals. My wife tried on the sandals briefly—twice—on the carpet in our bedroom and decided they were not a good fit, so she went to the store to return them.

Initially, she was told that I needed to be present for the return. However, upon further inspection, the associate noticed a stain on the bottom and stated that the return could not be accepted in-store.

These sandals were only tried on indoors, on carpet, and were never worn outside. As this was a gift, I did not inspect them upon arrival—but based on this experience, it appears they have been received in this condition.

Now after sending the sandals back I was told that they cannot accept them back and no refund. So basically they sent me a damaged item and refuse to give me a refund or give me a new item even though this was caused by them

After seeing the reviews on here I have learned my lesson that no one should do any business with Hermes. I have bought items from other high end brands like Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Chanel, etc. and never have I had an issue with customer service like this

Poor service from them, staff laughed at my distress whilst trying to resolve it. Disgusting company, feels like ive been scammed by them. Avoid at all costs.

Incorrect Wallet Returned After Exchange

I returned a wallet due to a visible defect. Instead of receiving the same item or a proper replacement, I was sent a different and older wallet. I’m very disappointed with how this was handled and hope the Hermes resolves this.

Please DONOT deal with this luxery brand!

My husband bought me an expensive Hermes (H) bracelet for Christmas. It was not one I would wear all the time so he mailed it back for a refund right after Christmas. They sent the bracelet right back to us saying it had been damaged…it was NOT…had never been worn and still had the plastic wrap around it. My husband called but they said it was damaged and refused to help us. So when we received it we took it to our jeweler who was shocked that they would not refund the bracelet. We called back but they would not talk to us and blocked us. It is appalling to be treated in this manner. I hope this review will be seen and the injustice we suffered results in a refund. This is a very expensive item. We are so upset. Melinda snd Larry Perkins Virginia Beach Virginia.

The display shoes I bought from Hermès…

The display shoes I bought from Hermès have so many creases and obvious scuffs, it’s shocking how bad their quality control has become. For a brand that’s supposed to be all about luxury, treating customers like this in today’s market is a sure way to go out of business. I’ll just stick to Loro Piana from now on if I want real quality. I don’t get what Hermès is up to these days—everyone’s hyping them up, but their craftsmanship is no longer reliable and their service has gotten way worse

One of the worst EVER!

One of the worst delivering services i've ever encountered in my entire life!

- No information about your package until days or weeks later

- Your package is supposed to be delivered at your home but they won't even bother and send it MILES away from your home to some local partner instead of putting it at your local post office or some Mondial Relay locker (they're partners)

- No customer support: a botchat that won't help and they don't answer emails. Don't even try the phone, it's pointless!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

P.S.: Good reviews must be rigged!

Hermes did not follow through

Hermes did not follow through. I paid for Overnight shipping ($70) but 3 days later did not receive the item. Very disappointed! it looks for Hermes Overnight means something totally different. When I call their customer service they told me to wait to receive tracking e-mail, keep in mind this is three days later after placing the order for OVERNIGHT DELIVERY!

Toronto store was such a disappointment

As a loyal customer of Hermes, it’s so disheartening to walk into one of their locations and be blatantly followed. I walked into the Toronto location, just killing time before my facial, I had a couple of bags with me. Wanting to not have such an experience, I asked if I could check my bags. I was told, unfortunately, they had no where to store them. Totally fine, I browse downstairs a bit and proceed upstairs. I could see, from my periphery, a security personnel follow me up the stairs; and thinking it’s nothing, I continue to browse. I came across a shirt, sweater and pair of pants I like. Immediately as I turn around, a security guard is behind me. He tells me, “Oh I’m security, you’ll have to check in downstairs”. I respond I know you’re security, I was actually looking for that gentleman, as I point to a sales person. I have a discussion with the salesman to find my size and arrange a try on. He walks away to facilitate what we arrange. I began browsing again, and every turn I made the security guard was on my hills. I intentionally walked into one direction and pivoted to walk in a different direction, to my dismay, he was once again right on my heels. It’s so disappointing to have such an experience; I walked out without even trying anything on or buying a thing. I usually shop in NYC, and have shopped in the Chicago store. Never have I had such a humiliating and frustrating experience. Needless to say I’ll never ever go back into the Toronto store.

excellent shopping experience!

I had an excellent experience ordering from Hermés International online site! I was a little worried about ordering such expensive lipstick without ever seeing it in person. But they do have an AI type of "try on" feature that I hoped was true to color and ordered based on that. I’m happy to say that it was spot on for me. The color and lip oil that I bought,ended up being a perfect match for me. and it was very close to what I expected and actually even better then I imagined. The packaging is luxurious, and the product is extremely high-quality as I would’ve expected from such a brand. I ordered the infused care oil in the color rose kola. It's a perfect mid tone rosewood color that’s not too cool or too warm, it’s not too dark or too light. it’s an excellent for daily wear alone or over a darker opaque lipstick for an evening out. It was shipped super fast as I ordered it on Saturday and received it on Tuesday. I highly recommend it!
