Il Marchesato is a family Company founded in 1978 in Saluzzo, a tiny town in the North West of Italy, not far from Turin.
The name is after the old name of the area, and it means “The land of the Marquis”, a common way in the ancient times to define places according to the nobles in charge. From the beginning Il Marchesato makes hand made luxury umbreallas, walking sticks and shoehorns with a vast array of high quality materials.
Every single piece is mounted by hand, precious textiles cut by hand, sticks and handles are worked by the family members and porcelain handles painted by local artists working with the Company since longtime. Even the top notches and runners of the umbrellas are mounted and tested internally one by one.

Exquisite Umbrellas
I ordered five umbrellas from
Il Marchesato. I plan on keeping two myself and giving three as gifts. There was an issue with receiving my order that had nothing to do Il Marchesato themselves, but rather customs. I was not aware there was an issue until Luca contacted me. He was very kind and diligent in making sure that I recognized the problem. He displayed an amazing business integrity through the entire experience. When I received my five umbrellas, I was amazed! The quality and beauty of these umbrellas is absolutely exquisite. I am so excited to give these as gifts to my dear friends. They are truly one of a kind and will make them feel incredibly special. The umbrella was beautiful, but!!
The umbrella was beautiful, however they show it with a different clip sleeve. They sent it with a simple gold band displaying their name instead of the pear shaped Swarovski crystal sleeve shown. Have already sent 2 emails to no reply. Good quality and detail but customer service isn't there.. i gave up
