Terrible customer service. I ended my subscription and in less than 24 hrs I'm still being billed and then every day after. You get glambots, AI generated responses to emailed complaints and when I did speak to an actual human they were as ignorant as the bots. My issue is still not resolved. I haven't even received products. Response to your reply. You have had it. Stop with the glambot n AI responses and then you wouldnt need it!!!!

Customer service is non existent and the website has rabbit holes that hope you give up and go away, Expired products and poison are what you should expect. If you’re lucky, you’ll just get tiny unknown 8th grade girl quality. If you’re not lucky, you could get ripped off and risk death. The most human interaction is with the chatbot. It’s impossible to cancel your subscription, track your package, or see your order history. They hope you will get frustrated and give up. There is literally only one button that you can push for a quick response while dealing with the Help bot and it is “never mind.” that’s literally the only button. The Chabot runs around in circles. You never get to speak to a customer service agent only get a promise from an AI that someone will send you an email within 24 hours. I’m amazed that this predatory behavior hasn’t been brought down by the fair trade commission or the cyber crimes unit of the FBI because this is textbook examples of criminal and physically dangerous practices

Total Scam! They Charged me for two subscriptions when I only wanted to try one. Then the products for one of the subscriptions were all wrong and not full size, they did not send the second subscription they charged me for. I wanted them to cancel both of the subscriptions they charged for and send ne a call tag for the bs products they sent. I had to argue with a Bot because they said they have no live customer service. Then they sent me to an email but it is still AI and no help at all. I called my credit card company to dispute all the charges.

My item was marked as "delivered" three times, yet I still have not received it. IPSY is giving me the run-around about how they can only make "ONE" exception to their policy and they say they sent "ONE" replacement. The customer service e-mails were degrading and accusatory. They were telling me to "look under bushes" or "ask my neighbors" but I live in a senior residence where items are brought to a mailroom. I had the feeling they were trying to accuse me of attempting to get extra merchandise. I have just asked for a refund, let's see how they handle that.

I have been an active IPSY customer with multiple orders placed within a short period of time. This review is about how IPSY handled a theft that occurred due to their carrier's failure, and the complete lack of respect shown toward me as a customer throughout the process.
My order (shipped May 28, 2026, delivered June 1, 2026) was left unsecured on an open shelf in my building's package room by the USPS carrier, despite a Parcel Pending smart locker system being available with clearly posted courier access codes. The official USPS tracking confirmed this: delivery status was recorded as "Delivered, Front Desk/Reception/Mail Room," not to a secure locker. One item was stolen before I could retrieve the package.
I reported the incident promptly with full documentation: the shipping confirmation email, USPS tracking record, photographs of the tampered package, and photographs of the locker system and posted courier codes.
IPSY's response:
- They issued a refund of $8.64 without asking me whether I preferred a refund or a replacement item. That decision was made unilaterally, without my consent.
- When I objected and requested a replacement item or store credit at the product's retail value, I was told the item was out of stock and no alternative could be offered.
- I documented that the IPSY Shop publicly displayed dozens of full-size products available for purchase at that same moment, with retail values equivalent to or greater than the stolen item. This directly contradicts the claim that no replacement was possible.
- Three different agents gave me the same scripted response. No one addressed the contradiction. No one offered a real choice.
The problem here is not the $8.64. The problem is that a customer who did nothing wrong, documented everything, and continued to shop with the company was never given the option to choose how to be compensated. IPSY decided what was convenient for them, not what was fair for the customer.
I cancelled my subscription as a result. Not because of the theft itself, but because of how it was handled.

I really enjoyed the products at first but then it became kind of repetitive and when I try to cancel it sends me in a loop and refuses to cancel my accounts and just keeps taking money every month

Reply from IPSY
They have been taking money off both my debit cards every month and u can’t call and talk to nobody so thru a text they tell me they don’t give refunds so another words I’ve been paying them twice a month and there not giving me my money back then I went online and there was a place posing as Ipsy supposedly gone refund my money and they tried to take more money off my card so beware Ipsy will take your money and keep it and there’s another person posing as Ipsy trying to steal more money off my cards so just be careful Ipsy will get u and don’t care if u get ur money back or not !!! Watt company don’t have a phone where u can call and talk to a person especially when they been stealing money out if ur bank accounts for months that’s very convenient for them but not for me I’m just out all that money that I do not have to just be giving away to a thief !!!

IPSY has been nothing but a headache because it's 100% AI operated now. There's no support and they will lie to you about providing support just to keep you from cancelling for another month. I was promised a replacement box 3 months ago which they still haven't shipped. I went to Google Play reviews and found out that this is just what they do: lie to you about the steps they took to help you. They're even lying to me about doing password resets, which is truly wild. Dude, snap out of it. You're letting AI dismantle your system and chase off your customers!

Unlike some other users, I did not have a problem with getting my bags delivered, however, when I decided that I no longer wanted the membership, I’ve had a terrible time canceling it. You cannot talk to a live person as they do not have a customer service number you can only request things through an AI messenger, which I did requesting to get the situation rectified and cancel my membership. They replied that it was all taken care of, and I just got charged again. I’ve stopped payment through my bank, but just beware if you sign up with them and don’t want it anymore, you might have a hard time getting rid of that subscription. I wish I had taken some time to read the reviews before signing up for this.

I am 68 years old. Every order, I receive at least 1 product that is more appropriate for teenagers. Products are seldom full sized as advertised. They are mostly very small samples.

I bought a year’s subscription.
At the beginning of subscription, the products were a nice surprise!
As the shipments arrived, I noticed Ipsy sending small size products and nothing worth using!
I canceled my subscription!
Not worth it!

I never received even a slightly known name brand item. The only time a well-known name brand made it into the box, you could not even select it. You had to pay an additional $12. They sent me a face mask that had a sticker on it that said “may cause cancer”, so I just threw it away. Aside from the watermelon retinol that I received, none of the items I received felt very high-quality or like they did much for me. I just really disliked the scammy feel of the whole thing. Cheap containers, withholding the name brand items, charging more for something you already paid for. It all felt very scammy. Might as well shop on Ali Express, Temu, or SHEIN for the same low quality vibes.

Update: while IPSY has issued a refund and a representative has taken the time to thoroughly explain their processes to me, both of which I do appreciate, it's clear from the many reviews this year alone that the issues (both diverse and overlapping) run deeper than what I experienced and there are multiple areas for this company to re-evaluate. IPSY may or may not already be internally working on such problems, but I believe it's important that potential customers have a well-rounded understanding of the state of the business as it is currently; for this reason, my review stands.
Original: I forgot to cancel my IPSY order before the next charge came in. When I was notified of the charge and it was noted that the order would not ship for another two days**, I immediately reached out to cancel the shipment and receive a refund. I received a response the day the shipment was scheduled to go out (yesterday) and told I wouldn't even be able to return the products for a refund once I received the package.
**It's worth noting, with prior orders the package was assembled/finished two days after the charge email, but the shipping itself began 5-8 days after said email. As of today, I have not yet received a shipping confirmation for this month's order. I also see a completely blank order history on my account now, even though I received orders the past two months.
This was my email response, to best reflect my thoughts:
"The greed is blatant. It would take very little on the part of IPSY to have their system send out automatic notifications so subscribers can cancel before being charged. There aren't even emails between the previous month's delivery and the next to act as an indirect reminder to cancel prior to being charged for the upcoming shipment; even if there were, they would not count as explicit warning of an incoming charge.
While I accept that I forgot to cancel before being charged again, I do not accept that IPSY can't take any responsibility for the lack of effort on their part to prevent this.
As I mentioned before, the order had not shipped at the time of reaching out, which is its own complaint; however, although I may not understand your shipping system, the inability to at least return sealed products/unopened packages doesn't say anything more than prioritizing profit over clients.
And at the end of the day, if profit is what really matters to IPSY, the business will likely ruin itself as the disinterest in continuing subscription-based services continues to grow among the general population."
Two stars only because the products themselves seem nice, but I don't know nearly enough about skincare/makeup products to speak to their quality/worth.

EDIT: Ipsy reached out to rectify by refunding me for the erroneous charge, as well as sending a consolation gift. I appreciate their attention to this situation and am updating my review from 1 to 3 stars since they have resolved the issue. However, be warned that their billing system and app interface in general are subject to glitches/errors which can affect your experience and/or your ability to cancel.
Original review below.
Horrible products—I thought I would disregard bad reviews but it was a huge mistake. It is genuinely just garbage they can’t offload. Prices increased the same month I started, and I honestly wouldn’t have enrolled knowing it was that price. Cancellation is difficult and customer service is non existent. App is glitchy and awful to navigate. Truly an awful experience. I’m STILL trying to cancel and it says my next payment is June. If I get charged I will be disputing with my bank and reporting the company for fraudulent activity.

Everything was fine with my first two Ipsy Original orders, plus I've bought over $200 from the shop that I was pleased with. The issues started when I upgraded fron the Original to the Extra subscription.I read that the deadline to upgrade for the May box was April 25, so I did this on April 24. This was to replace my Original subscription, not in addition to. Much to my surprise, I received a message that they were sending me an Extra April box ( in addition to my April Original). They chose my products. One of the main reasons I upgraded was so I could choose my 3 full sized products. When I checked out the products to choose for April to get an idea of what brands they carry, everything was already sold out. Pretty sure I'll be getting the leftovers, plus now I'll be charged for 2 boxes for May at $32 each.I've already spent over $200 in their shop in addition to my subscriptions so this was not in my budget.
So to summarize:
1) I upgraded my subscription from Ipsy Original to Ipsy Extra starting in May.
2) Even though I'd already received my subscriptiin for April, they went ahead and sent an additional box in April which won't arrive until May.
3) I'll be charged double for boxes I'll receive in May.
4) I chose this upgrade so that I could choose 3 of my products, but for the April box, I was not given this option.
I plan on cancelling my subscription as soon as I see what's in this April box. If I don't like the products, they will be returned
Their BOT was pretty useless. So is customer service.I messaged them right away concerning this matter before it was shipped and they refused to do anything.

I used the service years and got amazing. New products to try. I thought I would try it again and this time was a whole different experience. I consistently received dried out mascara and trial size useless other products. This was very disappointing. Don’t waste your money!

The only reason Ipsy gets two stars instead of one is because their shop has a lot of great discounted items that have introduced me to products that I am willing to buy at full price. Byroe, Fenty, etc. The actual delivery service isn’t really all that personalized, too many white label products, and the energy that I had to invest in talking to a customer service rep just to actually get
my shipments delivered to me was mind boggling. The package never comes, you write to inquire about it, they make you wait two weeks, and then you get a replacement package that has none of the stuff you chose- just a bunch of useless leftovers and broken bronzer samples. More than half of the packages over a two year period would never have arrived if I hadn’t stayed on top of it. This has happened to so many people, I have to assume it is part of their business model.
My advice: Sign up for the service, after the first shipment immediately cancel the monthly shipment and stick to their store. Those orders always arrive for some reason, and they offer a lot of good stuff. Be aware that they make it tricky to cancel. Read everything so that you don’t do it incorrectly. And never click through their email Ads or they will automatically sign you back up for the subscription!
Bizarre and dishonest business model.

I was excited to try Ipsy when i first heard of them, now experiencing their services..i would not return or pay for a subscription. I did not receive everything i paid for..my first package was missing several items and after multiple attempts at email and customer support..i receive via mail 1 of the missing items. I was then informed that my other missing items wees out of stock..and would NOT receive that product in the future (something about product discontinuence) was never offered refund or alternative replacement product. They just took my money for products i partially received. I tried for months after that to get someone to help..no luck...i would NOT recommend..i still haven't received and been about a year now..
