Extremely Disappointing: High Cost, No Value, and Terrible Customer Service

I enrolled in Ramit Sethi’s Dream Job program in August 2024, hoping it would help me improve my networking and career direction. Unfortunately, the experience left me disappointed and frustrated. Here’s why:

What Went Wrong:
- Customer Service: The worst part of my experience was the terrible customer support. When I realized the course wasn’t for me and hadn’t accessed the content, I asked for a cancellation and refund. Instead of helping, I was met with cold, robotic responses that ignored my situation. I’m on SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance), and the lack of understanding or compassion from IWT was deeply frustrating.

- Refund & Cancellation Policies: Their strict and unforgiving policies left me feeling locked in. Despite not using the course, they refused to cancel my payment plan and insisted I still owed the full $1,089. This felt extremely unfair and has completely turned me away from any future business with them.

What I Didn’t Learn:
- I did not learn anything new that I couldn’t have found elsewhere. The course mainly covers basic networking strategies and salary negotiation techniques, most of which are available for free or at a much lower cost in books and online resources.
- For $2,400, I expected much more personalized guidance and deeper insights. Instead, the content felt generic and not tailored to my needs.

Final Thoughts:
I cannot recommend this program based on my experience. The high cost, lack of customer service, and rigid payment policies left me feeling taken advantage of, rather than empowered.

If you're considering this course, be cautious. Make sure it’s truly the right fit for you before committing, as there’s little room for flexibility if it doesn’t meet your expectations.

Barely average, fluffy courses

It seems like Ramit Sethi major efforts are on marketing.

And it shows.

He says that 99% of his content is availalbe for free, so I should have known better.

I mean, if you're a super beginner clueless about the world, you'll find some good info there.

For anyone else, look somewhere else.

Ramit Scammy.

Loved the book but outside that, Sethi just seems like a slimy, snake oil scam artist with an overinflated ego. He has customer service people responding to his emails 24/7 so you think he is speaking directly to you (spoiler alert: he's not.) I chatted with one of these fake 'Ramits' to help me select a course 'The Finisher's Formula'. It was total fluff. No actionable takeaways. Really basic, beginner stuff. Literally have derived more value from listening to the same guests for free on podcasts. I contacted for a return and the fake 'Ramit' asked for notes. I had taken notes, but refused anyway because the course had no value. I politely pulled a trick Ramit taught me from his book, and said I would contact my credit card company if they didn't refund immediately. Then the fake 'Ramit' issued a refund and banned me from future courses - a true favor if you ask me. Thank you for keeping me from that mistake again! I know that is just one of Sethi's manipulative, over the top 'persuasion' tactics, and it is stupid. If your course sucks, just act like an adult and issue a refund. Spare me the run around and toddler fit and just try to make a better product.
