Waste of Money and Time. Not Recommended for Adult Learners!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Kaplan International Languages in Toronto, especially to adults in their late 20s or older who are looking for a professional and academically challenging learning environment.

The school seems primarily geared towards younger students. The atmosphere is extremely loud, crowded, and chaotic. Even the bathrooms are overcrowded during breaks. Overall, Kaplan feels more like an extension of high school than a professional adult education institution.

Teaching Quality: I specifically booked a Business English course, expecting structured and challenging lessons. Unfortunately, the academic level often fell short of my expectations. Students with significantly different English levels (B1 and B2/C1) are grouped together during workshops. I frequently found myself simplifying my English rather than improving it.

Poor Organisation and Customer Service: I booked and paid for two additional private lessons. After payment, nothing happened. There was no proactive communication about scheduling, and I had to return to the front office myself to insist on receiving information about lessons I had already paid for. This is unacceptable considering the prices Kaplan charges. I also requested to switch from morning to afternoon classes, but despite my efforts, the school was unable to accommodate my request.

Unfortunately, I found several staff members to be unfriendly, dismissive, and unhelpful when dealing with individual concerns.
My overall impression was that collecting payments seemed to be a higher priority than providing proper customer service. Once you have paid, you are largely left to deal with organisational issues yourself.

Overall: For the amount of money Kaplan charges, I expected significantly better teaching quality, organisation, flexibility, and customer support.

Kaplan might be suitable for teenagers and younger students looking for a social experience abroad, but I would strongly discourage adults seeking serious language development from choosing this school.

The certificate holds little real value and is not widely recognised or taken seriously in the job market. For me, it was a waste of money and valuable time. I would not choose Kaplan Toronto again.

All factors such as service team, teachers, location, activities at the classroom and homework made this experience great.

To be completely honest, I’ve been quite disappointed with my experience here. Before enrolling, I expected a much more challenging and demanding learning environment. However, we seem to go over the same material repeatedly, and there’s very little variety in the lessons. As a result, I feel like I’m not making as much progress as I could be.

The main reason I decided to stay was that my mother had already paid for the entire course. Otherwise, I would have transferred to another school.

Horrible experience
When they are trying to sell you course they are quick to respond and take the payments. But whenever you need help or respond how to proceed afterwards and then if you want to get refunded they take forever to reply.
I been trying to contact with Marcela Muñoz for about 3 weeks to get my money refunded due to the previous advisor took so long to reply to my sister that we decide to no proceed with the course. I been calling 2 times a week . And same story that somebody will call me same day or the day after and not news .
horrible customer service . I’m kinda sad because some of my family members used to study here but the experience is been getting worst with the years
