Lidl kensington
Really shocking how everyone is allowed to use their phone while working, sharing videos, and laughing out loud when customers need serving or texting while they put their fob on the self-scan pay machine.
It's fine if the managers let this happen knowingly, but it reflects badly on the brand.
The language in there is also bad; on a previous visit I heard the F word at least four times from two different members of staff. One looked like a manager too (bald-headed guy and a younger tall guy with dark hair and freckles).
Only 2-3 days ago I also heard two managers talking about how a member of staff was ' stupid ' (bald head guy again and a girl who always shouts 'dad' down the isle at another man) because they asked for 5s and the staff member bought out 5p coins instead of notes - Keep it in the office and be respectful, as that reflects on who you are.
It's ok to offer value, but when you become the cheaper alternative, standards drop considerably. If I go back in, then that reflects on me, so I won't be back.
Shoppers beware of price offers and check your receipt
Re: Lidl Store: Pinners Brow Warrington
I shopped at this store on the 13th August 2026, and found the the store a shining example of the Lidl business. Unfortunately there was also flaws in the store.
I had purchased 2 bottles of wine in the special offers section as a new store offer, with £2.50 off each bottle.
When I went through the manned checkout it failed after scanning only 2 products. Customer service assistants were unable to repair it and I was transferred to another checkout queue.
All goods went through okay and I loaded all items in to my car and then checked the receipt and found the wine had not been discounted.
I then went back in the store and went to a customer service advisor and explained what had happened, he then asked me to accompany him to where I acquired the wine from. We took a bottle to the self service and put it through the system which proved I was correct|||
He was unable to give me a refund and contacted the head of the customer service team who was also unable to refund me and told me to retrieve my 2 bottles of wine form my car??? and go to a manned checkout to get my refund.
I followed his strange instructions and after queuing again was told by the lady at the checkout that she was unable to refund me and called the same customer service manager for a code, which did not work. After waiting a further 6 minutes and a large queue behind me he eventually found another code which worked. He never once apologised and I found in rude in nature, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
As far as I could tell the pricing error was left for other customers to be deceived by Lidl.
I complained online to their customer service team and all they did was offer a sweet treat voucher as compensation. SHOPPERS BEWARE WHEN SHOPPING IN THIS STORE.
LIDL DEREHAM STORE ASSISTANT SUE…
LIDL DEREHAM STORE ASSISTANT SUE 16.8.26. Needed to return a bag of Maris Potatoes I had purchased on 11.8.26 today (16.8.26) as they had black mould in each potato. Store assistant was inexcusably rude and aggressive with an unpleasant mouthy attitude; she tutted said the receipt was too old (5 days) I had the potatoes too long and that at best she could only allow me another bag of potatoes to replace them. I did not want this but picked up another bag which were in turn also mouldy from the same batch. At this point she became really aggressive and started shouting at me that she needed to serve other customers. She retained the bag I had returned and the bag I had picked up underneath the counter and proceeded to serve someone else; clearly her inability to help me should have been dealt with by a manager for which she was not prepared to request so hence why I am leaving this feedback. I live within an 22 mile round trip of the Dereham store and therefore it is not just up the road and potatoes last more than a couple of days when purchased so she was just being incredibly bolshie, is unfit to be serving public. Its time to hang up your boots madam, it is not your money, it's mine!
The staff at the self checkout at…
The staff at the self checkout at Oldbrook Boulevard, Milton Keynes are verbally abusive, very disrespectful and very aggressive towards staff. The self scan staff that was at the checkout reported customer to security guy about a strawberry. The customer had already paid and opened the gate from the self scan with the receipt. The customer left the store without any alarm sounding. But, the security guy called back the customer and verbally abused customer and made racist remarks towards the customer. The manager, Ron also came and also verbally abused customer and disrespected customer and was very rude to customer. The staff are not helpful at all. They are very mean, very rude and very disrespectful. Customer doesn’t want to shop there anymore. Not a good place to shop. Poor customer service and the vegetables and fruits are always rotten and out of date.
Self services till's have changed at Stanningley Leeds store not great at all. Forrocia been classed as a sweet when it's not.
Self services till's have changed at Stanningley Leeds store not great at all. Forrocia been classed as a sweet when it's not.
The self service till don't have a full list but instead three different headings with donuts and sweets. When a Forrocia bread is more for sandwich than a sweet. Would never of guessed that. It also goes on about a bag when I click I've brought my own. As it wasn't clear the shop assistant came over "can I see it" well as last time a shop assistant looked at my free bakery items he expected myself to tell him especially as he didn't put them through straight away. This shop assistant on the self service machines shouted "no" to another couple a woman regarding pressing a button. Then it came up with a card payment he then told myself "you can now pay" so I went I know however there was this on the screen as I didn't know about the button so pressed it to cancel the payment he had to come over. It was if the self service machines didn't believe a word from myself.
Later that day I used Morrisons self service machines totally different experience. A lot better didn't have to repeat myself plus Morrisons has the whole wheat pasta that had been out of stock for days at that store.

Following a product complaint Lidl sent a gift voucher to my phone which I had to open in a PDF file. I used the voucher at my local Lidl store but to my horror I found that the Lidl app had destroyed my phone with viruses now the stupid Lidl app for £15 is going to cost me the price of a phone repair or a new phone so take my advise DO NOT install any Lidl apps on your phones.

I love the assortment of food here
I love the assortment of food at this store, so much better than their other German opponent, I just wish that we had one in Louth. Their bakery items are fantastic and love their continental food.
The only thing I really dislike, are the small trollies that they provide for children to push around. When I visited the one in Lincoln last Saturday, I was rammed by a youngster with one of these but luckily didn't sustain any injury. This begs the question as to who is liable if someone is injured by one of these trollies, the parents or the company?
Me and my husband went to Lidl's in…harold hill,
Me and my husband went to Lidl's in Harold Hill Essex Romford there was a young guy deputy manager called Troy he was so helpful I bumped into him twice and asked where some of the products were and he was so helpful this was the harold hill Lidl's.what a very helpful guy. 100% I will be definitely going there again and letting friends and family know how helpful the deputy manager Troy was.
I purchase pack of Vintage Cheddar…
I purchase pack of Vintage Cheddar Quarter pounders for my tea this evening with the view to thoroughly enjoying a Burger and Beer for my friday night treat, unfortunately the burgers were so full of gristle and bone that i was unable to eat it, probably the worst burger ever eaten, If i wanted to chow down on a bone i would have gone to the pet shop on the way home and not lidl's, come on lidls get your act together.. Very disgruntled customer....
Having been a Lidl customer for many…
Having been a Lidl customer for many years I had many good purchases but of late been awarded three times a free cheese at different times and they were not available.
I asked the manager (Paul)at Lidl Letchworth and he upgraded me a free one.
The next two times, again I been awarded a free cheese but again this one been not available. When asked if I could have a replacement the,at the time, female manager told me to go away and tough luck.It is the principal at first and would have been nice to be spoken to politely.
Maybe that is why Aldi won't use loyalty cards or apps and just deliver good service
Lidl Has gone Downhill
I've been shopping at various branches of Lidl for years because once I retired I couldn't afford to do all my shopping at Waitrose. Although the shopping experience didn't compare the low prices compensated. I now shop at East Twickenham & find Lidl a very poor experience. Some of the staff are very helpful but theyr'e few & far between. As an example I'm 83 & always use the self service check out & the majority of staff working on that section will simply watch me struggle to lift the shopping on the shelf. There are 2 older men who are who are very helpful & the guy on security is very nice too. Add to that the stock of products is so poor & after weeks of not being able to get one of my favourite items I find that it's been discontinued. The frozen fruit section was out of use for about 3 weeks. I frequently go to shop & come out with very little as most things aren't available. I'm now shopping at Sainsbury's or back to Waitrose. Many of their products contain bad additives so I use the Yuka app all time to check.I have to say that because Lidl is a German company I expect super efficiency.
65 YEAR OLD ABUSED BY STAFF
Went in Rock Ferry store and amongst other items I bought a bottle of gin for my Partner. On getting home I noticed that the young girl on the self service check outs failed to remove the security top. I took it back and all was ok until the girl started to blame me for "walking away before (she) could remove the security top" ..?!
The conversation went something like this :-
I said if I walked away why didn't you just call me back !?
(In truth she just dashed off to the next till that had a flashing light.)
She actually said she "was rushed off her feet".
I said "you’re overworked then"
"not my fault"
"Never said it was" I replied "but its not mine either "
"You’re shouting at me " (!?)
"No, I’m not" -which I wasn’t.
Then when she's away having to deal with another lit up till requiring her attention she's again shouting over at me from some distance that it was my fault.
Naturally i replied to this , still civilly but loud enough to be heard. This may have been the loudest i spoke to her but certainly not "shouting at her".
Next thing out comes the supervisor out of the office and tells me to get out and that I should be ashamed for shouting at a young girl like that. (!)
The Supervisor was not interested in what I had to say , not interested in the facts , not interested in the fact that the young girl had failed to do her job correctly by removing the security lock on the bottle of gin when she authorised it. And certainly not interested in the fact that had wrongly blamed me for "walking away before she could remove the top".
I have held many supervisory roles and it is right that Supervisors and Managers should "have their Staff's back". Not however, when the staff are clearly in the wrong and most definitely not without making themselves aware of the full facts.
I don’t like being abused in public by anyone let alone those who are supposed to have the customer's interests at heart.
If I could give zero stars I would.
What a way to treat customers.
Disgraceful .
Professional service
Today I had to return a faulty large appliance to our lyons farm lidls. I was dreading it, as I hate confrontation (as I'd previously encountered in currys). The professional way the young girl green hair on check out and the manager delt with me was over and above professional. Well done in customer service to lidls, I will now never 2nd guess buying from centre of the isle. Thank you
I bought a pair of Croc style slip on…
I bought a pair of Croc style slip on shoes from Lidl expecting them to be of reasonable quality. They should be at least as good as any other unbranded gardening shoe. I’ve just been to the beach at Lyme Regis and walked down to the sea. I realise the sole on this shoe is paper thin and I may as well have walked barefoot across the stones. Not only could I feel ever lump, bump and crevice but one particularly pointy stone went straight through the bottom of the shoe. And while it pieced the bottom of the shoe it’s actually a good job the stone wasn’t sharp enough to cut my foot. Did it hurt? Yes, a lot. Would I expect a shoe like this to offer some form of protection from a pointy stone? Absolutely otherwise what is the purpose of this shoe?
Be aware of the discount sticker
Always make sure you check your receipt because not just once but three times I have been charged more than what they claim the price should be. Be very careful with the discounted products, you may get charged the full price, not once for me but twice at the same store. Is this a common practice at Lidl?
Check what you are buying before you pay.
This is happening once too often.
Rotten fruit - this time at Hawkinge store. How long has it been hanging on the shelf, or don't staff check when they unpack and management don't care?
I've got a photo
