Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 104 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complain that the image generator struggles to follow simple prompts correctly and produces poor anatomical details like incorrect hands and faces. Customers also expressed deep frustration with expensive monthly subscriptions, constant software bugs, and unexpected account bans without any helpful explanation from support. Though some struggled with the tool, others felt that it can bring creative concepts to life with impressive visual details and professional photography styles. A few loyal users also appreciated the realistic generation capabilities and the ability to capture unique artistic atmospheres for their personal creative projects.

be becarefull

Be careful before subscribing. The credits run out very quickly, and you're constantly pushed to spend more money. Even after I cancelled my subscription, I was still charged. The cancellation button didn't work properly, and two days after cancelling, another **€33.20** was taken from my card without any explanation. I had to cancel my bank card because of these unauthorized charges. My experience has been very disappointing. Please be careful.

I have been using MJ for the past four…

I have been using MJ for the past four years. I am an AI film artist. I’m a super user.

MJ has forgotten about its users. This is all too evident in the frequent release of models that are quite frankly no better than 6.1.

But the biggest issue with regards to this company is their arrogance. The level of service from this company is non-existent. If you have a problem with anything don’t write to them because they will never reply.

On discord their service and support is staffed by people who say that they are volunteering for God sake! this is a multimillion dollar company. More often than not I’ve had runs ins on discord with extremely stroppy mods this is not the way to run a company. I am always really polite and they are short, arrogant and always come across that they resent what they do.

A few days ago I cancelled my subscription and I now use nano and grok which I find to be a far better platform all round. Midjourney nowadays is ineffective it’s bot is deaf and it’s lost all direction which is absolutely personified by announcement ref medical scanners. Perhaps they should just close down the art side and stay with that.
MJ either support your users or make it free.

I was one of the first users of…

I was one of the first users of midjourney and was always hyped for its growth but lately it has become a disappointment. Devs don't listen to user suggestions, I keep on prompting and my tokens keep on wasting but never gotten a good image output. I would say that midjourney just couldn't compete with the the latest image generation tools and got left especially due to the difference in the cost of their monthly subscription.

Generating images you wanted has…

Generating images you wanted has improved a lot. Midjourney sometimes fails to create images for no apparent reason. There is no help except a useless chatbot. It is still very imperfect creating hands and feet, understanding what you want in Edit, and adding content with Zoom and pan

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. Paying for the video generator is a huge mistake. Try to upload a character or a scene to generate a clip - not a chance. Perfectly designed photos are rejected without any explanation. The only thing it allows usage for is short 5-seconds clips that cant be used for any montage.
Waste of money.

Too expensive for so much frustration

I've been using midjourney for more than three years (massively) and it has always been very frustrating. The developpers never listen to the users and the moderation policy has reached a ridiculous point. A lot of other AI improve their features very fast but not midjourney.

In the same time, I've used a chatgpt free account and I can now create a fantasy character in a few minutes wheareas midjourney requires hundreds of attemps, days of relentless and frustrating attemps!

When my subscription is over, I'm done with midjourney. It's so lame.

Amazing quality artworks

Amazing quality artworks, but we need a way for long prompts to be used for V8, a toggle would be nice for long prompts to be accepted, also it would be nice with some kind of age verification to get nsfw prompts, I'm trying to make some soldiers for some military and the ai moderator is denying it because of some keywords like "absurdly muscular" and " intimidating" and that really is a problem, we need to be able to design operators and weapons with these tools in a perfect way, please work on it,other than that it's perfect!!

Language

I like experimenting with Midjourney using short prompts. Today I used 'Aotearoa' which is the Maori name of New Zealand and was pleasantly surprised to get four landscape images that could be of New Zealand, one of which included a Maori sculpture of an eagle - Magic

Been using midjourney for over 3 years now. It's great, it can bring to life my craziest concepts. Prompting here is a bit different than other Ai's, so you gotta learn first. Animation option still a bit limited but Ive done a few ad Reels with mj clips and real life clips and they look fine.

The biggest strategic scammers company…

The biggest strategic scammers company I ever see. I bought standard subscription and without using it for a sec I got a message that my account is suspended due to automation, bot or third party. None of the thing I done still they block me and even they write in there terms that they will refund if account is not used more then 2 hours but my account is not used for a single second and still when I mail them they said that we don't provide you refund. They are pure scammers. I recommend everyone to use any other model but not midjourney if you don't want to lose your money.

One of the worst AI image tools I’ve…

One of the worst AI image tools I’ve used. The quality is extremely inconsistent and nowhere near the level people hype it up to be. I spent an entire week trying again and again just to get decent results and mostly got disappointing outputs.

What makes it worse is the refund policy. Even after requesting a refund shortly after subscribing, they completely refused because of “GPU usage.” Of course there was usage because I kept retrying to get usable images.

Now I understand why they don’t offer a real free trial. If people could properly test the product before paying, no one will convert into paying customers.

Very disappointing experience overall.

Great for artists

I have been using midjourney for about a year to produce artistic pictures I digitaly alter and add female models . I had a few weeks it did not seem to be working as good as normal but as of this month , May 2026, it is once again producing quality images. I accept the prompt does not always give me what I want but generaly it does and every now and again it comes up with something great I would not have thought of. I just prompted it to provide an image outside a coal mine. I wanted it to go off into the distance. I prompted "long depth of field" and got exactly that. Sometimes I use a very short promp for example," flooded bedroom" and produced a batch of images with that prompt. There will be some great ones that are very artistic. One had water coming in through a broken window and pouring onto the floor to create the flood. It is just a matter of working with it and ideal if you can digitaly change the images to enhance them. It is excellent for an artist. kevin laidler

Customer service???? You’re joking right?!?!

The quality of the images and videos are good AFTER YOU SEND HOURS UPON HOURS trying to get the AI to pay attention to your prompts and you finally just settle for what it outputs because you’re out of cash. The Midjourney AI will OFTEN just ignore clear direct prompts and do its own thing and will doggedly keep giving you the save thing even after you’ve dramatically changed your prompts. There used to be a “dislike” button to help evaluate the AI output that they removed that. AND IF YOU COMPLAIN TO BILLING (because THERE IS NO OTHER CUSTOMER SERVICE) the billing department CANCELS YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WITHOUT EVEN ASKING YOU!!!!! Someone is making a lot of money with Midjourney and giving NOTHING back to the consumer.

This company is a catch 22 of screwing…

This company is a catch 22 of screwing people.

The image generation struggles to make hands without floating fingers or a random 6th finger, so you have to retry many many times to get a barely acceptable image...

And if you retry enough times before giving up, they refuse to refund your subscription because "you used our tool too much to qualify for a refund".

They literally have incentives to make bad images so they can deny refunds in bulk.

Don't bother signing up with them. Their images just suck.

It’s a decent app to use

It’s a decent app to use, only if you have a premium subscription..me being a designer, you need to generate a lot of options! That is something where I feel I get restricted.

Ita not free there is no free version of AI generated photos without subscription i have tried them all now. They advertise as free and then to register they take your email address to send you a code then bam it sends you straight to a subscription page and wont let you do anything without paying. Such a scam. False advertising all round.

new dashboard and format is great thank you!

The new format is great thank you! I've been a subscriber since V 5, is that three years ? Generated millions of images. So awesome to see the dashboard now within the Create option. Much easier to opt into moodboards and styles. Thanks! Also, greatly appreciate the enhanced and improved motion and movement within the videos, and the lower burn rate of credits. Thanks for being a reputable company and creative partner ! Keep it up ! (also love the new text generation, although naturally the latest from Chatgpt and Gemini/Banana slightly edges that out).
