Selling My Book For Resale! BUYER BEWARE

I was shocked and disappointed to discover that momox is selling a used copy of my book, From Victim To Victor: Transforming Trauma Into Triumph, on Amazon for around $10—significantly undercutting the price of the new copies I sell as the author.

As an independent author, I invested years of my life writing this book. It's frustrating to see a company profit from reselling my work while I receive nothing from those sales. Although I understand that the resale of legally purchased books is allowed, it feels unfair that authors have no say when their work is resold at prices that compete directly with their own listings.

This experience highlights a broader issue for independent authors. If you want to support the people who create the books you love, I encourage you to buy directly from the author or an authorized retailer whenever possible.

I hope companies like momox will consider how their business model impacts independent authors and explore ways to better support the creators whose work they profit from.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE “Item significantly not as described. The jacket sleeves had a major alteration/tailoring modification that was never mentioned in the listing or shown clearly in the photos. This completely affects the fit and value of the suit. I contacted the seller multiple times but received no response at all. On top of that, I am now forced to pay the return shipping costs for an issue caused by the seller’s lack of transparency. Very disappointing experience, poor communication, and misleading description. I would not recommend this seller.”

Disgusting company

Rejected an unworn item under a pretext without showing proof, so the threshold for a 5€ bonus would not be reached, then charged for overpriced return postage. They also offered to bin it for free. Customer service useless, only cold generic responses. Disgusting experience

Frustrating Service

It's nice to find a shop selling 2nd hand English books. BUT:
1. it takes ages to get here
2. No discount for international (B) customers ever, shipping.
3. AI customer support is complete frustration and no person ever responded. Also No problem solved.
4. I will cancel as soon as i have my last book... let' hope i get them.

I ordered thre times and they all arrived in seperate packages over the span of two weeks. It was a bit annoying to track three different deliveries!

Shocking

Shocking, never ever ever order from here unless you are after damaged products. If you are into destroyed product, horrific packaging and slow delivery, this place might be for you. in my case its not, i rather recieve what i actaully payed for and to be delivered swiftly.

Dramatic drop in quality

It used to be an excellent shop where "neuwertig" meant a new item. Then they started dropping quality standards radically. Now after the update of the website, usability got much worse, such that today there is no filter function available. I'll quit as soon as i have used up the credits that i for some reason did not receive as a monetary transaction but got back as coupons (over 200 Euros).
P.S. The response of the company which does not relate to the concerns I raised in my post only underlines my point of DRAMATIC DROP IN QUALITY

Here's a brief explanation:

Our shop system has adjusted the refund logic for orders placed with vouchers.

Specifically, this means:

If you return one or more items from an order, the voucher amount used will first be fully credited back to your account. Only when the returned items exceed the voucher balance will we refund the remaining amount via the original payment method, such as PayPal.

We understand that this differs from the previous calculation. Of course, you can redeem your recharged voucher balance at any time for your next order.

Time to care about customers, Momox!

Tried selling some clothes and got similar message as other users that the clothes are not good enough to be sold and the reasons listed were party false. Momox seems to exploit the fact that they pay for the sending of the package and then when stuf gets rejected they inform u that u have to pay delivery in case u want your clothes back. i will never send them anything ever again. Feedback to momox: what about you start taking your customers seriously? what about you make an accesible form where the customer can complain on specific cases? what about you incentivize customers who sell stuff to you with some nice bonus like 40 % discount on any new order without preconditions?

Seems fraudolent

I sent them a box of books weeks ago, which took a very long time to be processed. Then they said one of the books is damaged and I have to ether pay 4 Euros to get it back or allow them to "recycle" it. They refused to provide proof of the damage. For all I know, if there in fact a damage, this could have happened during transportation or while the book was handled at their facilities. Also, 4 Euros to send back a book is more than a regular customer would pay the post service for such a shipment and I have an hard time believing that a company cannot do that at a lower cost. Given that this all seems not right and suspicious I said that if they are unable to provide proof of the damage, I would like everything I sent to them to be given back to me, but they did not reply. I have not received any money for the other, "accepted", books either.
Never again!

I sent six books in perfect condition

I sent six books in perfect condition. They told me they could only accept three of them. In case I wanted them back I had to pay for the shipping.
I'm hundred percent sure that they are going to sell the books they didn't accept. A very lucrative business!

It all worked out perfect and easy

It all worked out perfect and easy. You just pack them up, send them away and once they checked them, you recieve your money. It‘s as easy as that. They need some time checking though, so don‘t worry if it takes a couple weeks. They‘ve never turned down any of the books I sold yet. Perfect way to sort out your shelves

I have bought books before. This is the first time I buy something else. I will not be buying from Momox in the future.
I ordered a pair of black shoes, according to the description they are in very good condition and look like new on the photos.
What arrived were very clearly brown shoes, dirty, a damaged inside sole. I contacted them immediately, sent photos. State is debatable, yes, but the colour just isn't. Black is not brown. They refuse to send a prepaid return label and expect me to take on the costs involved in returning their mistake.
When buying online and under EU rules, if the goods you buy turn out to be faulty or do not look or work as advertised, the seller must repair or replace them at no cost when possible (source: europa.eu)
I will amend/add to this review according to how this situation evolves.

11/02: they have agreed to refund shipping costs. They remain inconsistant in their emails saying the information provided isn't sufficient but must be official (we sent an invoice by the shipping company), in response to that they change their story that it actually means the items have to arrive with them which is obvious.

18/02: refund for the shoes has arrived but not for the shipping despite their assurance. These kinds of experiences are exhausting.

24/02: refund for shiping costs received. It's only taken 2 of us 15+ emails to get there. Then we wonder why everyone is on edge all the time.

Bad customer support

Odered a second hand book, the delivered product was in a very bad shape and missing the Audio CD that suppose to be attached. Returned the product but no refund received, seller claimimg they did not receive it. All answers Al generated, no solution provided, 45 days since product returned.

Heavily damaged book and horrible Customer Service

Got a second hand book that was VERY much damaged (and not from transport). In the end Momox gave me my money back, but boy did it take a long time. First Momox said they had paid the money, but turned out they hadn't, they said they had payed again, but they hadn't, and the people I communicated with- four or five different ones - just didn't seem to be interested in responding to my questions at all. When you start your communication you get replies from an AI, but those replies are almost better (or at least less frustrating) than the replies of the actual humans (who just don't seem to read your questions and the follow-up by their own colleagues). I don't think I will order with this company again.

Update 1: Hi Monica. I already knew the refund had been payed in the end. That was not the point. I made myself abundantly clear in the correspondence via Amazon. I even told you guys I was going to leave this review here on Trustplot to give you a chance to respond. Nobody bothered to read the whole conversation thread then. And I got nonsense, bromide answers. Even after repeated inquiry. So: too little too late I'm afraid. If you want to become better at Customer Service, then please speak to all the different people who didn't bother to answer properly.

Update 2: Thank you for taking this seriously; that’s at least something. Hope the CS people’s focus will change from - seemingly - trying to give quick answers to trying to grasp what is really needed in any specific situation. Most of the responses I got came from people who didn’t seem to even want to understand what was going on for real. However. For this situation to improve management probably also has to give them time. To read a whole thread and past messages, for instance. If the incentive is to deal with as many messages as possible in the shortest amount of time, nothing will change. Anyway. Good luck with the task at hand.

I was sold & send the right COVER of game, but with a different product inside the cover case, so I returned it, being told:

"We are really sorry for shipping a wrong item. Of course, we assume in your case the return cost of returning the goods. We kindly ask you to send back the goods on the most low-priced mode of reshipment, also uninsured. Please let us know the exact amount of the return shipment costs for a refund.

They refunded me 99DKK Which was the game's cost, but the return cost, was a whole 170DKK!
put simply: The game cost me more to RETURN than the game itself, and after I brought this to their attention, with pictures of the post-office receipt, they no longer answer my messages...
STAY AWAY! They Don't stand by their word.

I have send book which I barely used. It even was smelling as new paper. I got reply from this company that book is not passing quality check. Ridiculous! I can not believe it!
