I have listened to NPR/St. Louis Public Radio because I expect thoughtful, fact-based journalism, but I am becoming increasingly concerned about how some political and health stories are framed.
A specific example is the August 29, 2026 Weekend Edition Saturday report, “Pennsylvania measles deaths ignite clash over RFK Jr.’s vaccination claims.”
There are legitimate issues to question and fact-check regarding Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but disputed or unresolved information should be presented as disputed or unresolved. In this report, the framing left me with the impression that listeners were being guided toward a negative conclusion about Kennedy rather than being given the full context and allowed to evaluate the facts for themselves.
Pennsylvania has described the deaths as “measles-associated,” and there have been questions surrounding causation and the circumstances of at least one of the deaths. That distinction matters. If Kennedy makes a statement that is demonstrably false, NPR should show exactly what he said and the evidence proving it false. But when the facts are still being clarified, the reporting should say so plainly.
I also think listeners should know that Kennedy and HHS have publicly supported measles prevention and MMR vaccination while also working on children’s nutrition, school food, chronic disease prevention, and other public-health initiatives. NPR does not have to praise those efforts, but reporting should not leave listeners with an implication that is opposite to the broader factual record.
I do not expect NPR to agree with RFK Jr. or any political figure. I expect journalists to distinguish clearly between verified facts, disputed facts, expert opinion, interpretation, and political criticism.
Increasingly, I find myself having to independently fact-check NPR stories afterward to discover important context that was left out. That is a serious problem for a news organization whose credibility depends on listener trust.

I no longer support this station because of its clear left-leaning bias and the consistent injection of political opinions into what should be objective news. Very disappointing.

It is obvious NPR has no idea of what it means to give "only the news". Their left leaning slant on every article is so obvious that even a 6year old can see that they want to become the socialist / communist propaganda arm of that communistic government. May they get shut down sooner than later. Don't give to this communist entity.

Rational, objective, fact-based information, on a wide array of topics. I feel more educated and aware after listening to news, science reports and human interest stories. Thank you for sharing truth people can be confident in.

What a joke, I just recently was on a trip and couldn’t find anything to listen to so happened on NPR haven’t listened in a while. I think I got a bit dumber just listening to these dumb people trying to convince you of their non-biased (yeah right) political research. I don’t understand why people listen to this programming. It is such one-sided and pathetic report.and there “Reporting “ is not even accurate at all from doing my own research on things they are reporting on these so-called reporters are all trying to push their own agenda. Pretty sad that the government paid programming which is supposed to be for taxpayers to help them receive current news on biased news yet it is run by a bunch of hacks . It is great if you want to fall asleep listening to nothing lol

Npr has an obvious slant. Such a sad thing to do on thanksgiving. Say that politics are hard to talk about then blame one side. Shame on you

NPR is no longer presenting quality unbiased news. They are blaming the democrats for the government shutdown or to be more precise they are reporting only those that say the shutdown is the Democrats fault. People have relied on NPR to be fair and unbiased and to present the Truth. This is no longer happening since only government centered stories that promote the current leadership are being aired.
NPR is member supported and I expect to see the membership decline and perhaps even fail all together in the near future if they continue this kind of reporting.

I want to complain about your one-sided coverage of Israel-Gaza war. Also, don't you think that the perception of your reporting is biased since most/all your reporters are Arabs? Why don't you ever represent Israel's side? Why your reporters don't ask any questions or provide any background to events?

I have complained about the bias on NPR for years now and they have only gotten worse.

I use to respect and listen to npr. But recently I have noticed that some of the journalists are biased towards other countries. Some of the questions they ask to the us political leaders are very biased. I feel like they don’t ask the right questions. I will not listen to A1 not honest host.

I AM SOO SICK OF THEIR ONE SIDED "news reporting", they are a brain washing group, who distorts everything - like this morning, giving an opinion of the Amendments , that is NOT written in our Laws ! THERE IS NO COUNTRY, WHERE YOU CAN SNEAK INTO IT, AND GET AUTOMATIC CITIZENSHIP ! I lived in many countries, you get deported ..end of story !!

My favorite way to get the news! A good variety of informative and fun shows and podcasts. I've been using the NPR One app for years.

This is not news. This is manipulation and one star is too many and I will never donate one penny to your freaking organization like I have in the past.

This is the most liberally biased “news” I have ever heard. They do not report the facts, but rather a woke view of virtually every topic. We need to 100% defund NPR and create a true, unbiased news station, with a clean slate of real reporters, not the typical left-wing, totally biased folks that currently dominate this fiasco of a station.
