Defective Vehicle Opel Grandland GS 2024

In June 2024, we purchased our vehicle, an Opel Grandland GS 2024, as a brand-new car. The vehicle has always been kept in a garage and has not been involved in any accidents. Nevertheless, two paint peels of coin size have appeared on the black-painted part of the roof.

This defect qualifies as a “defective product” under Turkish Consumer Protection Law (Law No. 6502), as it appeared shortly after delivery, is clearly production-related, and cannot be attributed to user error.

Previously, we were verbally offered a solution involving repainting the roof and compensation for a loss of value amounting to 120,000 TRY. However, due to the health problems of my father, the registered disabled owner, the process could not be initiated earlier. After his passing, the vehicle transfer was delayed further.

In the meantime, the market value of the vehicle has significantly increased. Nevertheless, the original offer has neither been updated nor formally confirmed in writing. Instead, we were informed only by phone that no increase in compensation is possible. This constitutes a significant disadvantage for us.

As the Turkey office was unable to resolve this matter, we are now politely reaching out to you at the headquarters and kindly request your assistance and intervention.

Therefore, I request that our vehicle be recognized as a defective product and that, in accordance with our legal rights, we receive the following written and official solutions:

Free and professional repair of the paint defect

Updated and fair compensation for the incurred loss of value
