Wow,

I have used numerous video editors in the past, and I was unfortunate enough that I had to stumble across this one for a university assignment.

OpenShot is without a doubt the single worst creative program I have ever had to use. In the time that I spent waiting for it to load to edit a 1 minute video, I could have edited a full movie in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

I'm not sure exactly why it isn't working for me; I use a Mac Studio (the 96GB RAM version), and a Windows laptop interchangeably (8GB RAM), and they both had the exact same performance regardless of how many settings I changed in cache or playback (equally slow).

I have crashed so many times, I am fed up with this program, and if it weren't for the fact that I actually pay for my degree and money isn't unlimited, I wouldn't submit myself to torture like this again. Calling it a creative app is a stretch too; there is so little you can do to actually edit anything, apart from the fact that you can move it on the timeline and place broken effects on it.

Rest assured I have flamed it in my subject feedback already. AVOID AT ALL COSTS (unless somehow they actually fix their program).

Just bad editor

I tried making a montage with this editor, but it always lags,I couldn't find title (text) button until I watched a tutorial video, the only positive thing about this editor is that it has many options for transitions. I also want to state that it has just wrong editor design and it was very hard for me to use it, not recommended for anybody, especially beginners (its just a worse than an average editor)

On a positive note it was easy to use…

On a positive note it was easy to use and basic in the functions. The problem with it is that I could not hear audio even after turning up the volume controls. And every time I uploaded to YouTube I got a "Processing Abandoned" message. It took 14 hrs to download on the computer and 4 to 5 hrs to upload. What a complete waist of time!

Buggy

This software looked very promising, but every time I import a clip and hit the "play" icon, it plays slowed down, with no audio. I played around with the different settings, and was unable to get the clip to play properly. Will not be recommending this software to anyone.
