I had a very frustrating experience…

I had a very frustrating experience with paywise GmbH.

I made a payment within the given deadline (04.02.2026), but because no reference number was included, the payment was allocated to a different file. Instead of resolving this fairly, the case escalated with additional fees.

Although I paid the requested “fair payment” amount on time, I was later charged the full collection fees due to internal allocation issues.

Communication felt rigid and not solution-oriented. The matter was only closed after I paid the full demanded amount.

I recommend documenting every payment carefully and double-checking reference numbers to avoid similar stress.

Paywise does not have a way to address…

Paywise does not have a way to address invoices raised by deceptive practices. Could not reach their call center. No clear way of disputing claims.

A doctor falsely claimed that they accept Statutory insurance on Doctolib and then called privately to inform that they only accept private patients. Many patients have complained on Google Reviews of the practice about them deceiving and then using Paywise to threaten patients.

Unfortunately there is no easy way for us to connect with Paywise to share proof and pursue remedy for the misrepresentation by their client. The said practitioner has no authorization to accept Statutory Insurance but claims to accept statutory insurance on Doctolib. Paywise is being misused as a money launderer by the practice and they have no clear mechanism to avoid this harassment and misuse.

Update: While the Doctor withdrew the invoice, the Paywise company has been notoroiously silent on confirming the no-dues status. What an awful company!
