Spectacular
We have just sailed on the stunning P&O Arcadia in the Norwegian Fjords. It was such a special experience with spectacular destinations. The staff on board were wonderful, the food was delicious and the entertainment was exceptional. A truly wonderful and amazing holiday
Excellent all round from all…
Excellent all round from all departments and staff except the hair and beauty team. Booked 60 minutes to have my hair put up for the black tie night, was in the salon for 20 minutes. Felt an inconvenience.

On board restaurants and food were excellent.
Entertainment was fantastic even though the Greatest Days show was cancelled.
First time on Iona, one of the larger ships in the fleet. Nothing to worry about.
Staff were friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience 🥰
Loved every minute of everything
Loved every minute of everything. I genuinely did. For our first cruise to booking the next 2 years in advance to do it again only a bit further says it all. Fantastic. Roll on 2027

Extremely great cruise to Norway the transfer to and from the ship are very good by coach and very easy and brilliant staff on board
Great experience
The whole experience of embarkation and leaving the ship was smooth . Staff make you feel special. Food choices were varied and exceptionally well presented and tasty. Cabin was a good size and comfortable.

Our first cruise and the Ventura didn’t disappoint. We had a fabulous holiday. Ship is spotless and hygiene 5 stars especially handwashing at the buffet ( no one escaped ) . Frolain and Rutvick and Ashwin, 100% service in the Cinnamon , food was lovely. All staff helpful and nothing was an issue. Great captain and loved our morning calls from the bridge, so funny and witty . Thank you Ventura .
Card charged for excursion I did not book
Despite cruising several times in the past, I will not be travelling with P&O again. My card was charged £380 for an excursion that I did not book. Staff weren't interested and it essentially ruined our holiday, as it took my account overdrawn. Registered this as a complaint and was sent an overpriced giftbox as a "gesture of good will"
Don’t do this to yourselves
After going on this cruise, I feel I have to write this so people know what to expect.
The biggest issue by far was the food. The so-called “à la carte” restaurants were, in my experience, serving many of the exact same dishes as the buffet. It felt like the food was simply being moved downstairs and presented differently. The quality throughout the cruise was consistently poor - bland, mass-produced and often undercooked. Breakfast was particularly disappointing, with soggy bread, undercooked hash browns, runny scrambled eggs and bacon that tasted off.
We paid extra for speciality restaurants expecting a premium experience, but both Sindhu and Epicurean were huge let-downs. The food wasn’t worthy of the additional charge, portions were underwhelming and much of it seemed no different from what was already available elsewhere on the ship. At Epicurean I also felt mocked by staff when asking for a simple substitution with my meal, which completely ruined what should have been a special evening.
To make matters worse, my partner suffered food poisoning after eating at 6th Street Diner. Throughout the cruise we also found hairs in multiple meals and regularly had to swap dirty cutlery because it still had food residue on it. That completely destroyed any confidence we had in the hygiene standards onboard.
Customer service was equally disappointing. When illness prevented me from attending a P&O excursion, there was no flexibility or goodwill shown despite having booked multiple excursions through them. On disembarkation day, I was given completely contradictory advice by reception about carrying alcohol in my hand luggage. I checked the rules twice with two different members of staff, only to be told something entirely different when leaving the ship, leaving me no option but to surrender bottles that I would never have packed that way had I been given the correct information in the first place.
There were also issues with the air conditioning, the whirlpools were filthy, and overall the ship simply didn’t meet the standard I’d expect from a cruise of this price.
To make matters even worse, I’ve been trying to contact P&O for months about these issues and have not received a single response. Being ignored after spending thousands of pounds on what was supposed to be a dream holiday has only added to my disappointment.
This was genuinely the worst holiday I’ve ever had. I left feeling frustrated, disappointed and relieved to be home. The only positive thing I can take from this holiday is that it made me appreciate being home so much more.
I won’t be cruising with P&O again, and unfortunately I couldn’t recommend Arvia to anyone.
Just back from Norway on Iona
Just back from Norway on Iona. What an amazing ship. The whole holiday from start to finish was fantastic. The scenery was beyond beautiful. Don’t book excursions through P & O they are double the price . Book direct with the companies that provide them or when on shore. Other than that everything else was better than expected. Food , entertainment, cabin, staff all fantastic. I would have no hesitation booking another cruise with P & O
Iona Inside room / services review
Sailed on Iona to the Fjords from Southampton. Decided to stay in an inside cabin (stayed with a balcony on a previous trip) - this really suprised us, was a lovely room and didn't feel too stuffy without a window. Very Cosy and plenty of room for clothes and room under bed for 2 large cases.
Paid restaurants were lovely, The Limelight Club was fantastic, great entertainment and delicious menu. Buffet was ok (can get busy), better than other all inclusive resorts in Europe. Don't book trips on the boat, book in resort cheaper. Don't pay full price at Spa as expensive, they do offers every day.
If you buy wine and only drink 1/2 a bottle, take back to your cabin and with you for your next meal.
If you can't get in your chosen restaurant don't worry. Just join the queue on the evening you want to attend - always got a table this way.
Excellent customer service, always felt looked after and our needs were met. Nothing too much trouble. App is great makes everything so much easier.
