Good Product; Good Customer Service; Horrendous Delivery Experience
I ordered the 48" Tulip Table (Cararra Marble) from Rove Concepts in early December. I purchased the table through the website, but I spoke with a woman in customer service first to get an idea of delivery timing and service. She advised the table would arrive in late-December and strongly recommended I upgrade the delivery option from standard to white-glove service due to the weight / construction required of the table once delivered. I thought this was excessive considering the standard delivery charge is higher than most I have seen, however, I agreed and paid the $350 delivery fee. I am in the process of refurnishing our house and despite the $30k spent on furniture to date I can honestly say that is the highest fee I have ever paid for delivery/assembly.
The order was delayed twice, although both times with apologies from the vendor. When it finally arrived in Houston, I scheduled the delivery for a day when I could take off work to receive/inspect. That morning the delivery agent called stating that they had forgotten to put it on the truck and therefore would have to reschedule. Despite the hassle, I rescheduled for another afternoon when I could take off work to witness the delivery. The same thing happened again and I was told I would have to reschedule. When I protested my frustration (at having taken off work twice to receive this order!), they agreed to put the item on a truck and deliver it to my house. The delivery men were very nice and very careful when carrying the crate in, however, they had no tools and no knowledge of how to construct (after I had paid for white glove service!). After multiple phone calls to the delivery agent and Rove; the agent agreed to send someone out the following day to construct. He arrived - with tools, apologies, and muddy boots all over my floor, however the item was assembled properly. When I asked for a refund of, at the very least, the white glove portion of my delivery fee - I was told that was impossible and offered a $50 gift credit to the website. For this amount of inconvenience I would have expected a refund of the full delivery fee.
In summary - I am happy with the product despite the delays However, this order required so much of a hassle on my part in order to have it delivered - I am not sure I would use the company again.
