Bought the oval, marble, Saarinen tulip table and armless chairs with red, leather cushions. Had been price shopping for years. There is no aesthetic reason to pay more for a Knoll branded set. From what I've seen they're identical. Chairs are comfortable.
Rove Concepts service is superb and the delivery time (to LA) was half what was published.
I did the assembly myself. Chairs are very easy, you'll need a couple of able bodied friends to help lift the marble top onto the base and align with the bolt holes.
Biggest problem will be disposal of the crating wood.
My marble is not factory perfect - there's a buffing/polishing irregularity on one end the size of my hand that's only visible at certain angles and other smaller irregularities in the coating. You have to be looking for them to see. I'm okay with the imperfections because we're scared to use the table in fear of spilling something or worse. Like a new baby or car, we'll calm down. We bought a sealer as additional protection but the factory finish seemed to just repel the sealer.
The table is like a Ferrari parked in our suburban, traditional, spec home. Makes it's surrounding look inferior and not as utile as a sedan but what a piece of art! Think Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Now for placemats. Oval seems to be the functional and aesthetic shape but they aren't readily available. Plan on needing Chilewich placemats at $15 each!
