Love the Product, Didn't Love the Shipping
I've lusted after an Eames-style lounge chair for a long time and finally decided to buy one and after studying reviews, chose Rove. The chair is beautiful and so very comfortable and appears to be quite well made. The leather--Milano Smoke--is sensuously soft and the color is rich (very unlike the sample that arrived after i placed the order, which was cracked and hard, more like cheap vinyl than 'real' leather).
The chair arrived on the scheduled day and within the scheduled time frame in a huge box (chair AND ottoman!!); i happened to be outside the house chatting with a neighbor when the truck pulled up and one guy hopped out to make the delivery. I greeted him and told him he could put the box inside the front door; he said he 'wasn't allowed in the house,' and that his job required him only to deliver to the front door, no further. Since the box wouldn't fit through the door, my neighbor and i had to unbox it on the front stoop and gently jockey it through the door. Good thing it wasn't a sofa!! All's well that ends well, though; but what if i hadn't been home? What if i'd been doing laundry and didn't hear the doorbell? What if it had been raining or snowing? After paying $250 for shipping, i think that delivery should include bringing the item into the house as well as removal of packing materials, and that cost Rove one star. I was tempted to dock them 2 stars, but the beauty of the chair earned them back that one.
