Morden look decent quality comfortable couch, but some health concerns
I like the modern sleek look of my Sophia sectional couch and it is comfortable too.
However I can smell quite a bit chemicals especially from the frames in the back and on the side. The smell resembles new car smell and reminds me of some IKEA furniture I had before.
I am pregnant so I made sure that the materials are safe before ordering : I had the couch made without fire retardant (even though it took five months from order to delivery); The sales people confirmed with me that they do not use Formaldehyde. So I was really expecting a very green, no VOC couch. So after all the effort and I still smell those chemicals it's disappointing. It's freezing cold in the winter I can't even open the window to air it out.
I also have a set of sofas from Mitchell Gold and there has been absolutely no smell since day one.
I have requested it for a full list of chemicals used in producing's couch and I am still waiting for the results.

All new products can have a fresh smell but this should dissipate rapidly once unwrapped.
