Single shipment when last item available
I ordered three items, one of which has a future ship date two months out. After the purchase was processed, I was informed that all items would ship together only once that future item was processed. Since the other 2 items are paid and were in stock, I think it's incumbent upon the merchant to make two separate shipments (and a single shipment cost to the consumer) in the case of more than 4 weeks' hold time for one of the items in the order. For example, for a purchase made at Room&Board, in-stock items would be shipped immediately and future items would follow when available, and consumer does not pay shipping costs twice – just a nice (and expected) courtesy to shoppers.
