Poor white glove delivery service

I live in what used to be the attic of my building and the second, very short flight of stairs is quite narrow. When I moved in my movers had to take the legs off of my couch in order to get it up to my apartment. I paid almost $300 for white glove delivery of my womb chair, anticipating that this might be an issue. The delivery men told me they couldn't get the chair up the stairs and when I asked about taking the legs off they said that they couldn't but I could. So I went up to my apartment and found an allen wrench that luckily worked to take the legs off. As I was unscrewing the legs, the movers (who were just standing there watching me) complained that their boss would be asking them what took so long, and that they wanted me to sign the receipt so that they could leave. I understand that this is a third party company whose workers are not authorized to disassemble the furniture, but the fact that they couldn't even wait 10 minutes to make sure I could take it apart and carry it up to my apartment myself was irksome, considering that I paid for white glove service. The chair is beautiful and comfortable but I am extremely disappointed with the delivery service.
