beautiful chairs but flawed
Update - 2018/07/24
Star ratings don't say it all. Brief: chair went from 4 to 2 after further thought. RoveConcepts is 4.
After falling in love with the real Norman Cherner stool, RoveConcepts seemed to have the best price and best represented replica, so I bought three for my island. With a small discount, total came to ~$700 USD shipped.
The chairs were delivered in their individual boxes which was pack relatively well. They came fully assembled and looked like that of the website. Quality seemed good and finish is smooth. When I sat on them, they all creaked a bit. I tightened everything up. To my horror (thought not surprised), much of the bolts were not tight. Some could be hand tightened. My $75 IKEA counter stools are more comfy, though not nearly as fashionable.
The legs of the chair did not flare out enough. Thus, thighs could not spread to a natural position. The sitting area was too large and when sitting in the center of the seat, there would be no back support. If leaned against the back (which feels good), the sitting position would not be comfortable.
I put up them for sale at a deep discount after sitting on it for 2 hours. Yes, they were uncomfortable. I had four others tell me the same. Returning shipping to Canada and a 15% restocking fee would have cost a fortune and not be worth the effort.
Rove should provide return labels for free but give store credit rather than a refund. Then I would have done so.
I wouldn't shop here again and wouldn't recommend them until their product reviews are more accurately reflected with a better return policy.
