Salt Lake Tribune Site is Bad

I have been a subscriber to the Salt Lake Tribune website for years and honestly find myself questioning why. There are maybe 10 new articles a day and the navigation is absolute garbage. I want to support local journalism but this is the pits. And then to make it even more frustrating, the site will make me change my password for some unknown reason. I end up always setting to the previous password because I didn’t forget my password, you did. It is really a shame that a great place like SLC doesn’t have a good, independent, fair and successful source of news. The culture here is pretty insular, but this is really a blight on the city. Do better Tribune!

Can't trust this rag

Yet another once fine newspaper that has devolved into laughable, untrustworthy farce.

When reading this rag, your default position should be that the reporter and editor are lying.

Constantly inaccurate unsourced stories

This publication seems to write stories using sources that haven't been ethically sources and when searching for comments from subject matter, they give a ridiculously inadequate window for response. Just more fake ass media to discount and block on all platforms. Good riddance

Dont get me wrong

Dont get me wrong, I love the Salt Lake Tribune. Being born in Utah, I have to support utah Journal news. I just find it disrespectful how most articles seem to take a hit at the LDS church. I'm not Christian but I find it important to respect every religion there is, especially when writing an article about one. I believe the authors should have indifference when writing on any article for the execution of an Op-Ed. That's all I'm saying.

Customer service is the worst I have…

Customer service is the worst I have ever seen! They introduced a supposedly upgraded app that doesn't work. Take your subscription money and refuse to answer the phone or e-mails. Been reading for over 60 years. Shameful!!!

I have been trying to change my…

I have been trying to change my subscription for two weeks now, I have called 5 times, I have automatically been hung up on 3 times while waiting on hold and I have sent 2 emails. NO ONE is responding, yet they are asking for donations above and beyond your $5.00 price of the Sunday paper. All they care about is the money. I have been a subscriber to the Tribune since 1980. I have never had such POOR customer service.

Pay for online content??

They want to make you pay for online content that isn’t even their own. Their stories are decent but asking someone to pay for online content that can be found elsewhere is just plain moronic. Being the scam capital of North America I shouldn’t be surprised that they demand money for something that should be free.

Don’t Even Try

DO NOT TRY TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE DIGITAL
Twice I have tried to subscribe to the digital edition. The website does not recognize my user id/password. I was advised to reset password. Trying to find the section and then trying to get it to work is another. After resetting password, again, then giving up, same story, tried for over 30 minutes to try and cancel. The box stayed grayed out and could not change auto renewal. Finally the next day it still won’t recognize user I’d password. But wonders of wonders I was able to stop auto renewal and cancelled subscription. Not a big fan of the Deseret News but the subscription and set up was seemless. Absolutely no problems with them. Forced to read the Trib free website and wonder how much more disorganized it can get.

No longer Utah's independent voice

The Salt Lake City Tribune in the past has been considered Utah's independent voice and unlike the Deseret News was more of a non-LDS publication. Recently this has changed as there are now many LDS articles that seem to assume all readers are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They have changed their commenting system to some company called World Table that is bug ridden code that slows down browsers and even caused computers to lock up and have to be rebooted. They have also become more active censoring comments from customers on their comment boards for no appearant violation of their terms of service. If people want to read news about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints there are plenty of publications such as Ensign, The Deseret News, etc. The Salt Lake Tribune is no longer Utah's independent voice. I will not be renewing my subscription and wonder if Huntsman is purposely running the Salt Lake Tribune out of business to silence or censor non-LDS people.
