I give 1 Star rating in Google due to- Misleading sales, poor after-sales support - Solar Square Bangalore*
We got solar panels installed by Solar Square at our residence in Bangalore. This was our first time and we relied on their team to guide us.
Biggest issue: We were never told there are 2 types of systems - Grid and Battery. We only found out today from their own fault-checking representative who came after multiple requests. The Bangalore office confirmed ours is a Grid system, which means power is NOT stored. We were under the impression we’d have backup and savings day and night.
What we were NOT told before purchase:
1. *No battery/storage*: Solar units can only be used when the sun is shining. At night or for AC, everything is drawn from BESCOM.
2. *No training*: The app was just given to us without any explanation. We couldn’t even understand the details shown in it.
3. *Confusing app support*: Different staff gave different app names to download, and the app itself doesn’t show the details we actually need.
We had to chase them multiple times just to get someone to visit and explain basics that should have been covered during sales. Feels like we were fooled into placing the order without full disclosure.
If you want clarity and honest guidance, ask them 10 times about Grid vs Battery and storage before you pay. We wish we had
They did not inform us before purchase that we were getting a Grid system with no battery storage. We only learned this months later after many complaints.
No proper training was given on the app, and staff keep giving different app names. The app also doesn’t show useful details.
For a first-time buyer, they should explain basics clearly. We feel misled. Would not recommend unless you verify everything yourself.
- *Lack of transparency*: Never told us about Grid vs Battery option before purchase
- *No storage*: Found out too late that units are not stored and we still depend on BESCOM at night
- *Zero onboarding*: No training on how to read the app or system
- *Poor support*: Different staff gave different app names. All instructions and guidance verbal and nothing in company correspondence.
App is not helpful
- Had to make multiple requests just to get a fault-check visit.

I wanted to install 4 kw solar on my 3rd floor roof based on my electricity consumption and when i contacted to Solar Square vendor then they sent a person to visit my home to measure my roof size for solar installation and after that Ashi Jain from sales team Pune (Solar Square vendor) asked me to book with 10,000 without even sharing any design of my roof and knowing me that whether my roof would have 4kw installation or not or any other details in written they verbally said it will be done 4kw only. so i booked it recently by 2nd July 2026 and today is 16th July 2026 and no design available so far.
when i told that how can i book without having any written document they said that if i have any issue at any point it will be refunded my booking amount conversation happened over mobile call so i booked it and when i asked for design of panel installation as per my roof after booking. they prepared wrong design for my 2nd floor roof even measurement was done for 3rd floor roof and shared with me when i denied for this wrong design and asked them to share new design per my 3rd floor they said they are working on it and it is already more than 6 days no new design has been shared so far and i am following on daily basis and they are saying or repeating the same thing that they are working on new design, i really don't understand how long they will take to provide me solution they are even not sure so i am feeling cheated by them and not getting solution from them.
SolerSqure Company is making fool to customers with the name of GoodZero Maintenance Plan. First they will commit we will visit every month but even after 3 months no one has come for Maintenance.
it's totally fraud with customer. Don't buy this plan.
My experience with SolarSquare highlights a serious gap between installation execution and post-installation accountability.
My rooftop solar system was upgraded from 5 kW to 7.56 kW through SolarSquare. The system was synchronized on 24-04-2026 and net metering approval was granted on 25-04-2026 (Reg: NT9982610410).
Despite approvals:
* sanctioned load continued to reflect incorrectly,
* net metering was not operational in billing,
* solar export units were not credited,
* and an electricity bill of ₹33,125 was generated.
The matter escalated further when a lineman arrived for electricity disconnection.
At that stage, I repeatedly contacted SolarSquare representative Naveen (9676035803), who assured me the matter would be coordinated with DISCOM and resolved.
However, my documented call logs now show:
* 30+ call attempts made by me across multiple days,
* the overwhelming majority of calls going unanswered,
* and negligible escalation ownership during an active disconnection crisis.
Despite repeated follow-ups, office visits, customer support interactions, INGRAM complaint, and CGRF escalation, meaningful resolution support was absent.
The most concerning aspect of this experience was not the existence of a technical issue. Complex projects can encounter operational problems.
The concern is the complete absence of structured escalation handling, communication continuity, and accountable post-installation support once the project moved into a billing and regulatory coordination stage.
Consumers evaluating rooftop solar providers should carefully assess not only installation capability, but also the organization’s operational maturity in handling post-installation exceptions, DISCOM coordination, and customer crisis management.
All communication records, billing records, call logs, and escalation documentation have been preserved.
I am from Nagpur and had installed a 5KVA solar system from Solar Square around 3 years back. At the time of installation, the overall setup quality was decent, though the project itself was delayed significantly and required constant follow-ups from my side. Still, I ignored it thinking post-installation support would at least be reliable.
Now I am shifting to a new residence and wanted to port my existing solar setup. This entire experience has turned into a complete nightmare.
First, I was shocked to know that I have to pay around ₹5,000 just for dismantling the existing setup, and then another ₹28,000 separately for reinstallation at the new location. Even after agreeing to these charges, the level of customer support has been extremely disappointing.
There is barely any communication from their team. Every single step requires repeated follow-ups. Calls go unanswered, callbacks never happen, and updates are almost non-existent unless I keep chasing them continuously. It genuinely feels like once the installation is completed and payment is received, customer service becomes the customer’s problem.
What made things worse was the customer care experience. I waited for more than 10 minutes just trying to connect to someone from support, only for the call to eventually go nowhere. This has happened multiple times. For a company operating in a premium and growing segment like solar energy, this level of after-sales support is unacceptable.
Solar installation is not a small purchase. People invest lakhs expecting long-term support, responsiveness, and reliability. Unfortunately, my experience during relocation has been exhausting, frustrating, and mentally draining.
Sharing this so that potential buyers are aware not only about the installation process, but more importantly about the after-sales and relocation support experience before making a decision.
