Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 683 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently praise the extremely affordable pricing structure and the clear, modern interface that makes managing extensive domain portfolios very simple and efficient. Consumer feedback consistently reflects the smooth overall technical performance, excellent market value, and genuinely helpful guidance provided by staff during the initial platform setup. However, some reviewers were not happy with customer support, mentioning unhelpful responses, rigid service policies, and completely unresolved account issues. A few other people also felt that strict website restrictions, unexpected transfer difficulties, and sudden domain renewal failures caused significant and unnecessary frustration.

For now I am fine with the service you are offering to me. I am using only the domain, maybe in the future to offer something like an emergent, full, no-coding webpage AI generator.

I wish there were buttons inside the messages or the interface so that I can mess delete or process mails. Without the buttons it looks very primitive

great price for domain/ web hosting / business email. if they can add "schedule send" feature to spacemail, that'd be better user experience.

So cheap

Really cheap domains are available at 10.19 dollars per year. I can finally use my websites without relying on a GitHub Pages domain, which feels nearly free. The design of the spaceship main page is mind blowing

I tried contacting support about this

I tried contacting support about this, but no, they are incapable of understanding the most mundane things, so here are my concerns as a 1 star review.

This is regarding the "buy now" and "lease to own" checkout links for domain sellers.

The checkout process for buyers, who are typically non domainers, is actually very non intuitive and acts as an unnecessary barrier, and hindrance, for buyers to proceed with the purchase.

First of all, after clicking the buy now link and proceeding from the cart, the buyer can't locate the sign up link easily when proceeding from the cart.
The checkout flow is ridiculous in that it assumes such a buyer, coming from a sales lander, would have an existing account on an obscure domain website that they never heard of before. They should be shown the sign up form.
Currently, the sign up link is squirrelled far away, below the visible screen, and then right at the bottom of a long login modal, and worse it is in entirely unreadable in tiny text. Why? Is the aim to deter a sale? Because you are achieving that very easily. The sign up modal, not login modal, must be the first thing shown and visible. Put the login link at the bottom of the modal instead, if you insist on it.

Then secondly, blocking the purchase from proceeding beyond the cart because you expect everyone to be a domainer, and to somehow be aware that they need to provide registrant info, is ridiculous. At this point the buyer is abandoning the cart because, first, they had to jump through hoops to sign up because they were unable to see where the hell the signup link is, then they are being told to proceed with a purchase that they can't complete because apparently they didn't provide registrant details, even though they were never asked for it to begin with, and no where are they prompted in the checkout flow to enter those registrant details, and now unintuitively must once again abandon their cart and somehow magically know to navigate to some arbitrary location in a new account they created, no link to it or anything, then enter those details, and somehow have the patience to figure all of this out and then happily return to the cart to complete the purchase. Not happening. Can you see how ridiculous this is?

This setup is so ridiculous. Your support clearly took offense from the above. This is stopping sales, not helping buyers to complete them. Worse still,if the buyer is a non-English speaker, like a Saudi national and there is poor UX, no ease of use. Forget about having Google translate on your site... its nice, cool, I get it. How does that help if your checkout flow and UX sucks and he can't see where to sign up?

Come on man. Make this easy for a buyer who wants a seamless process. Think of buyers as people who don't have an existing account, people who are literally non domainers trying to buy a domain from a domain seller via your site. Think of ease of use, better UX, for non English speakers - let them see a sign up form easily, let them proceed to enter their registrant details in the checkout flow. Don't overcomplicate things thinking you have created something sophisticated - dude, it's not sophisticated at all, it's just a pain.

If you want the buyers registrant details, just let the buyer either enter it on the checkout screen - no links to enter it elsewhere or other nonsense - or just don't require it at all.
Stop sabotaging sellers domain sales with this nonsense.

How many abandoned carts are out there that you don't know why they actually abandoned their purchase? It doesn't affect you, but it does affect domain sellers.

Please make these improvements as a matter of priority.

Hello,

We’re sorry to hear that the checkout experience has been frustrating, and we appreciate you taking the time to provide such detailed feedback.

Regarding language support, you can change the website language by clicking the globe icon in the top-right corner and selecting your preferred language under the Language section.

We understand that not all languages are currently available, and we recognize how important broader language support is for providing an accessible experience to customers around the world. Expanding our language options is an ongoing effort.

As for the registrant/contact details, if these details are required for the purchase, the relevant form should be presented as part of the process. We’d be happy to take a closer look at what you’re seeing on your end.
You’re welcome to provide a screenshot through the existing ticket, as our Team requested, so we can investigate this further.

Regarding the visibility of the Sign Up option, we’ve noted your feedback and passed it along to our Team for consideration.

For any further assistance, please continue communicating with our Team through the existing ticket.

We’ll be glad to review the details and investigate further.

Best regards,
Spaceship Team

I just wasted SIX HOURS trying to get…

I just wasted SIX HOURS trying to get Alf Website Studio to make one unbelievably simple change to my website, and I am beyond frustrated.

I am not exaggerating when I say the task was this simple:

I had an EXISTING header.
I had an EXISTING PNG wordmark.
There was an EMPTY SPACE in the middle of the header.

I wanted Alf to PUT THE PNG IN THE EMPTY SPACE.

THAT WAS IT.

I repeatedly and explicitly told Alf NOT to redesign the header, NOT to recreate my logo, NOT to change the navigation, NOT to modify the existing icon, NOT to regenerate anything, and NOT to touch anything else on the page.

I eventually reduced the instructions down to essentially:

USE THIS EXACT FILE.
PUT IT HERE.
CHANGE NOTHING ELSE.

And somehow Alf STILL could not reliably do it.

At one point Alf actually claimed it had placed my exact mTechNL wordmark in the center of the header. I looked at the website and it had instead inserted ANOTHER COPY OF A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ICON.

I then explained AGAIN that the placement was correct but the asset was wrong. I supplied the correct PNG again. I explicitly told it to simply replace the incorrect image with the exact wordmark file I had provided.

It STILL couldn't accomplish this basic edit.

I have been beyond frustrated because something so stupidly simple was made so unbelievably complicated by software that is supposedly designed to make building a website easier.

Every attempt became more prompting, more explaining, more correcting, more unwanted changes, or Alf misunderstanding instructions that could not possibly have been made any clearer.

SIX HOURS.

Six hours trying to put ONE supplied PNG into ONE empty location in a website header.

This wasn't a complicated development request. I wasn't asking Alf to build some elaborate feature, write custom functionality, or redesign my website.

I WAS TRYING TO PUT A PNG IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEADER.

Something that should have taken 30 seconds became a six-hour ordeal because the software seemingly cannot reliably perform a precise, basic edit without misunderstanding the request, using the wrong asset, or trying to do something I never asked it to do.

By the end of it I was so unbelievably frustrated that I DELETED THE WEBSITE AND CANCELLED EVERYTHING.

An AI website builder is supposed to SAVE TIME. Alf did the exact opposite. It turned one of the simplest website edits imaginable into hours of fighting with software, and I ultimately lost the website I had spent all that time working on.

There desperately needs to be reliable manual control over basic website elements. And when a user tells Alf to modify ONE specific thing, it needs to modify that ONE THING and leave everything else alone.

After this experience, I will NEVER recommend Alf Website Studio or Spaceship to anyone looking to build a website. Ever.

If someone asks me what platform they should use to build a website, Alf and Spaceship will be the two names I specifically tell them to avoid.

I gave Alf every possible opportunity to accomplish one incredibly simple task. It failed repeatedly.

Six hours of my life wasted over the placement of one image, and I ultimately deleted the entire website because I could not take fighting with this software anymore.

I am done wasting my time with it, and I will never use or recommend Alf or Spaceship for website building again.

Absolutely damn unacceptable.
