If 0* were an option it would be zero. Most of their people (especially on the phone) can't answer even basic policy and logic questions let alone anything more. There was one good worker at the Asp... See more

I have been with TD Bank for over 20…
I have been with TD Bank for over 20 years in New York and New Jersey. The service there was exemplary compared to what I’ve dealt with down in TD Bank in Newberry, South Carolina. Ideposited two checks at the ATM machine, but only one went through. I went inside to talk to the tellers and the manager and got zero help. I asked them to give me back the check because they had already given me back my card which was stuck in the machine. They told me they were not able to return my check and then I had to go home and call the 800 number. I asked them if they could call while I was there and they said no. The manager stood on the sidelines and she was totally separated from the situation. I went home and called the 800 number and I was on the phone with them for at least an hour. I was informed that I would have to wait 6 to 10 business days until it was posted. They would not be able to return my money until that time. I am a senior citizen and I am on a fixed income, but they had no consideration for that. They were as oblivious and as helpful as the tellers and the manager at the Newberry TD branch. I hung up on them and was so frustrated that I wanted to close my account. My husband said to let it go for now and we would see how it would work out. It worked out after two weeks. The check was almost $700 and they thought nothing of me having to wait all that time. Call me crazy, but I think that is unacceptable and unprofessional. That was my first experience with this bank that was in June 2026.
The TDBank app is truly shitty
The TDBank app is truly shitty. Too often there’s a technical problem which promises to be fixed before you can say “I should change banks.” As always, the bank doesn’t give a damn as long as money keeps rollin’ into their vaults. This begs the question — why am I writing this?
Bank holding mature CD funds hostage unless you are in person .
When I opened a checking account with TD Bank ,(US), and put $30000.00 into their CDs, there was nothing about you had to close your CDs or add money or transfer funds during the “maturity grace period” in person .
The closest bank branch is 100 miles away,( 200 miles round trip ).
You can transfer funds between internal accounts as well as outside banks but you can’t move funds from a mature CD into your TD checking account.
This is not to prevent fraud. This is to take advantage of account holders that live too far from the bank .
It was suggested that I could transfer funds over the phone or via email. NOT!!
Stupidest bank in the world
Stupidest bank in the world! Rips you off doesn't answer their phones bad communication! Run dont deal with this bank its a joke!
Once happy, now angry
I have been a customer of TD for over twenty years. I've had as many as seven accounts and a mortgage with them. They were easy to talk to, friendly, helpful, etc... I liked working with them. I started a business credit card with TD earlier in 2026 and was given a $32,000 credit limit. I'm a freelancer who makes good money, pays their bills, cards and even their taxes(!), but my income is not consistent... Sometimes I go for months without much income, but I have expenses and need to make purchases. This is why I have a credit card. I built up a sizable balance on my TD business card, then I finally was paid from a job that taken months to complete. I paid $15000,00 to my balance, dropping it to about $13k. My reward? TD reduced my credit limit to $13, 200... $150 above my balance. All of my automated payments (utilities, memberships, etc. started bouncing back, "card declined". I had to call TD (for two and a half hours) to find out what happened and was told "Oh, we sent you a letter". Have you USED the US mail recently??? Why didn't I get an email and text telling me about this? I get them for all my other transactions. The end result was "We understand your frustration, sir (right), but it may take as long as six months to increase your credit limit, and it may not be to the original limit”. Am taking all the money I have in accounts with them and moving to a local bank or credit union. TD "customer service" has officially joined the corporate 'annoy the customer until they give up' mentality. "America's Most Convenient Bank" is total BS... Stay away from them.
Spending an hour just to deposit cheques
Spending an hour just to deposit cheques
The world's most INconvenient bank…
The world's most INconvenient bank there is the whole world. It's crazy, you go to the ATM you're in and out in a couple seconds. You go in to get help inside or through the drive, throw and it takes forever, you get negative slow people then, you try to tell them, you know, it's pretty inconvenient that you have to send me a text. I gotta show you my license. They gotta verify, and they go slow to make sure, and then you say something. And it's, well, it's for your protection. No, it's not for my protection. It's you're protecting yourself, don't give me a line of dung. And anytime you try to let somebody know inconvenient it is they take it personal and they get a snotty attitude, it's ridiculous, whatever happened to customer service and thanking the customer for coming in. That must have flew out the window.
If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I was extremely disappointed with the customer service I received over the phone from this representative. She showed very little empathy or understanding toward my situation and seemed more interested in ending the conversation than actually helping me.
Unfortunately, this interaction left me feeling dismissed and unsupported. This is not the level of customer service I expect from TD.
dont go literally so rude the employees…
dont go literally so rude the employees think they own the bank or something no. You choose this job theres no reason to be rude at the costumers just do your work. Horrible experience with TD Bank three…
Horrible experience with TD Bank three times in a row! Went to cash a check and they do not let people that do not have accounts cash checks for more than $2500. You have to open an account. They don’t tell anyone that until you get to the teller this one was Stephanie Bard. Went back-and-forth with me in front of everyone embarrassing herself TD Bank on Brian dairy Road in Largo Florida. Also had another gentleman walk up to me and asked me if I needed help. I said yes I would like some help and he said well I can’t help you but she can.! why do they ask if you need help when they can’t help you everyone that greet you at TD Bank is instructed to do so! There are poor reviews for TD banks and not a lot of people open an account accounts with TD Bank and I understand why! I will be depositing my checks into my own bank account, which is Truist Bank! A dependable and United States banking service!
Closed Account still used for credits!
I switched to a Nordstrom Visa and closed my old account. Twice in the last 6 months this bank has put credits on my CLOSED account resulting in me being unable to use my card because I "missed " a payment and this time, resulting in my credit score dropping 30 points because I was over my limit!!!! Also, when I switched to the Visa they cut my credit limit in half!!
TD IS EXTREMELY UNREPUTABLE. STAY AWAY!
Watch Out!! This company will trick you badly. I transferred balance from another card, to this card to avoid interest on another card. They casually forgot to tell me I either had to pay every month the minimum which in the long run will cost me more or pay the balance, no in between. I was not allowed to pay what I wanted over the min. This card is out to get you. Now I'm looking for an honest & reputable company to do business with, and it's not TD!
Sneaky hidden fees and unethical practices
My experience with TD Bank has been horrific. Save yourself any future financial afflictions. I use them for a short term credit line for furniture store. I did my due diligence and paid off the remaining balance before interest applied. There was a hidden fee applied a $40 with no written or verbal notice. Thinking my account was closed for a few months. I get a surprise call that I have a balance of $790 of interest applied to my account because there was a $40 late fee that was never explained. Not until recently have I discovered how many lawsuits this bank has dealt with. Save yourself some grace and stay far away.
I lost all respect for Target TD Bank credit card cancelling me
I lost all respect for Target TD Bank and their credit card, your companies are horrible. No respect for your customers who have your target TD Bank credit card. It is so unnecessary what they do cancelling you, they say they will mail another alert, but never do, just cancel you if you do not use their card. Their loss! Now will never use either company ever again.
Your call center is foreign outside the USA, they do not understand English and cannot speak to understand them. Use Americans, give Americans jobs, people who speak English and understand us. You are the only store credit card that closes my account without my permission. You told me you would mail me another alert before hand, you never did. I tried to use the card yesterday and it did not work.
I will look at it all as a blessing. Target you lose. I just won't shop at your stores anymore. Too bad you do this, what harm did it have to stay open? I would have used it if I had gone to target, anyway, now just won't go there anymore. Target loses.
I do not like how Target and TD bank handled this cancelling me without another warning. I won't recommend or use you anymore and will do bad reviews now on BBB and Trustpilot. You should be kinder, loving, forgiving, and not be like this, be like Jesus. Your loss, I won't use you or shop with you again. I do not recommend this company at all. I now can see why TD Bank has so many bad reviews in the USA and Canada, what a horrible company. Pure evil, we will not use them ever again.
TD used to be known for their customer…
TD used to be known for their customer service. After over 20 years of doing business I’m leaving after a horrible mortgage renewal experience
Most HORRID credit card customer…
Most HORRID credit card customer service I have ever experienced!! It's almost impossible to talk to anyone. Their system keeps hanging up on you whenever I did get ahold of them for payment issues, they locked me out of my full account, simply because I asked them to block future charges. THEN, it showed my autopay was set up in 3 different places on the website, but it still didn't go through, and they claimed it wasn't set up, but it showed it was! They dinged my credit, and it's my only ding! I disputed it, and they validated it!!! I was supposed to get a call from corporate, but it never happened!! I will NEVER use them again. I hope they go down in flames!!!
Worst bank ever
Worst bank ever. I Zelled and TD would not release my money to the recipient. They are not helpful. They are not competent. They are not AMERICAN!
Do not bank with TD.
TRUSTPILOT REVIEW LINE OF CREDIT (ONE STAR) POSTED MAY…
TRUSTPILOT REVIEW (ONE STAR) ON TD ETHICS POSTED MAY 2026
After years and now months going through the TD Senior Customer Complaints Office trying to rectify a situation with my line of credit and now paying over 13% interest rate for it at TD Bank, I think the public needs to know how badly TD behaves.
This all goes back about 19 years ago when I walked into a TD bank in Toronto looking for an overdraft and ended up walking out with a line of credit . The interest rate I signed on for was not the one I thought I received and I did flag it but nothing was done. In retrospect, I should not have even signed for it as it was too much for my needs but TD had an upselling campaign and I was a victim. All very confusing.
I went through the Ombudsman’s office at TD a few times, Senior Management in lending and offers were made to assist that I could not understand or did not assist. This is what I have learned about this dismal experience and what I can pass on:
This is a disturbing example of how TD Bank Group treats their clients. Nobody is at home here. It is evident from the almost 3,000 complaints on Trustpilot and online that my experiences with the bank are not uncommon – rude customer service, lack of due diligence on complaints regarding bank and investor accounts as well as an inadequate complaint system which appears to exist solely to hide ethical breaches.
As I said to them, this is not a matter for an external government body such as OBSI but needs to be settled in-house. The point of a board of directors is to ‘provide oversight of frameworks and polices with respect to ethical personal, business and market conduct’.
So I wrote to the Chair of the Board of Directors John B Macintyre after starting off with TD Customer Complaints Office where I thought to copy the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer, The VP and Head of the Senior Customer Complaints Office and the Group Fraud Management Vice President, Business Management at TD Bank Group outlining the issues and asking for clarification on information I later found that was either hidden from me in the investigation or simply lost. Correspondence included attachments of scanned documents and emails over the years.
Towards the end of this tortuous journey, I contacted Senior Media Relations Staff and the Head of Investor Relations at TD Bank as this is also an issue about shareholder value and corporate governance hoping they would forward to someone who could respond to my very concerning queries.
This experience was mind numbing even though I also CC’d senior management at the time I was dealing with TD Senior Customer Complaints Office. That final verdict was that SCCO would not change the line of credit interest rate which is 13.44%! I had found new information shortly after in letters from Senior Management going back 9 years ago. I resubmitted asking for a new investigation and did not hear a thing.. I will send this post to emails of senior management at TD Bank including John B. MacIntyre. What could they have done? In the spirit of customer service, say that there are indeed issues and lower the rate. POSTED AN UPDATED REVIEW IN JULY 2026
I went to the drive-up
I went to the drive-up, waited literally 20 min in line, when the teller came to the window i wanted to withdraw from my debit card didnt have my phone to type in pin told me I had to come in, after waiting 20 min. This isnt the first time dealing with this bank, I am so discussted with their custome service and their rude tellers, I will be going to another bank.
