Failed after 5 uses, 3 weeks out of warranty. They're ignoring me.
I'm disabled and have trouble with some aspects of personal health. It's getting worse as I get older and so I turned to The Handy when I heard of it. I don't make a lot of money so this was a bit of a leap of faith, at AUD$433 delivered at the time.
It was delivered May 2025 and I've used it exactly 5 times since last July (I can prove this with software logs). It stopped working properly in April 2026. Due to my limitations, it took me a while to get to testing and diagnosing it. This sort of thing wipes me out for the day, but I finally did it. It's clearly a mechanical or electrical failure.
I opened a support ticket on 21 May 2026. After sending several videos and explanations to the team as requested, I was told they'd replace it, though it might be a while.
This morning I got an email saying actually they weren't going to support this because it's out of warranty (by three weeks!). The device has been literally used 5 times, as I told them (I estimated 6-8 times in the emails; have since worked it out exactly). I'm still learning how to use it, it's so new to me. For so much money, I'd have expected it to last at least a few years, you know?
I've emailed them several times with more info since then, appealing to them to do the right thing. They have been ignoring me since.
