I've canceled with them like 10 times and they still keep calling me.lied about the prices and over charged...I'm going to give them one more time to try and go into my bank before I snap
Absolutely appalling service from
TruGreen Charlotte! After a year in which my lawn has never looked worse, thanks to TruGreen's complete lack of follow-through, I have had enough.
Months of missed services, multiple confirmed appointments where no one showed up, countless phone calls, repeated requests to speak with management that went unanswered, and just this week, conversations with FOUR different representatives by phone and another by email. Yet here we are on October 21, and my lawn STILL has not been aerated or seeded.
No communication. No explanation. No apology. Absolutely no accountability.
I have no idea who manages TruGreen's Charlotte branch, but the incompetence, unprofessionalism, and blatant disregard for customers are staggering. This goes beyond poor customer service. It reflects a complete failure of leadership, accountability, and basic business operations.
TruGreen corporate leadership needs to step in and get this resolved immediately.
Brand new customer and I wish I would have read reviews first. Had some minor weeds and wanted my grass fertilized. They came out for my first service 10 days ago. My weeds ate thriving and my grass is half dead and growing browner by the day. Waiting to see of it recovers - if not I will have to fight for them to re-sod my lawn. Extremely upset and disappointed.
Poor Service, I have issues with my grass, brown patches everywhere, grass dying. I had been calling Truegreen for the last 6 months asking for help, to somebody to come and inspect my lawn and nobody showed up. When the technician came for the monthly service I asked them about the issues on my lawn, but they not have any idea or knowledge about the brown patches. Other issues, technician skipping treatment of some areas of my lawn. I'm decide to call another company and they inspected my lawn, an a infestation of chinch bugs, for one year Truegreen doing service on my lawn and my lawn dying because the chinch bugs. Im done with Truegreen and now I hire another company.
"I had a brand-new lawn installed 11 months ago, and TruGreen has treated it from day one. Instead of seeing improvement, the lawn is in terrible shape and almost completely overrun by weeds. The service quality has been unacceptably low. To make matters worse, after every single visit, I receive sales calls trying to upsell me on extra treatments for things they supposedly noticed—yet they completely missed that my yard is choked with weeds. I’m canceling and taking over myself; it’s hard to imagine doing a worse job."

TruGreen is just a thief. They don’t get my lawn better at all and put more brown and fungus to it. TruGreen charges my credit card twice without my authorization even after I cancelled their service.

Title: Very Disappointed with TruGreen's Handling of My Lawn
I signed up for TruGreen's eight-application lawn treatment program in the spring of 2026 for my approximately 7,000-square-foot lawn.
I handled my own seeding and applied grass seed on September 12 and again on September 20. On September 21, TruGreen performed its final scheduled application, which included fertilizer and broadleaf weed control.
I was shocked to discover this on my invoice. When I called the Richmond office, the representative told me they had no idea I would be putting down grass seed at this time of year.
I find that explanation unacceptable. Fall is a common time to seed lawns in Virginia, and I expected a professional lawn care company to understand the importance of coordinating weed control with new grass seeding.
I am now concerned about the effect of this treatment on my newly seeded lawn. I have cancelled future service and am requesting a refund.
This experience has seriously undermined my confidence in TruGreen. I expected professional expertise and better communication from a company whose business is lawn care.

After more than eight years as loyal TruGreen customers, we finally made the decision to cancel our service, and quite frankly, we wish we had done it sooner.
I’m not sure what has happened to this company, but the quality of service, professionalism, and customer care has deteriorated drastically over the years. We have invested a significant amount of money trusting TruGreen to properly maintain and protect our lawn, only to recently learn from one of their own managers that certain weeds we believed they had been treating throughout our eight years of service were not even covered by their treatments!
To make matters worse, I repeatedly complained that technicians were not treating our entire yard. I even provided security camera footage supporting those concerns. Despite bringing these issues to their attention, we saw little evidence of meaningful corrective action.
The final straw was their most recent services. During a severe drought, with temperatures reaching approximately 105 degrees, TruGreen proceeded with aeration and overseeding. They then followed up with another weed killer treatment. We are now left with numerous bare spots throughout our lawn. After eight years of paying professionals to care for our grass, it is incredibly frustrating to see our yard in this condition. We trusted their expertise to know when treatments were appropriate and when environmental conditions made them questionable.
What is especially disappointing is the apparent lack of accountability. When we first hired TruGreen, their service and commitment to customer satisfaction were noticeably better. Somewhere along the way, that commitment seems to have disappeared.
We paid for professional lawn care, not years of excuses, inconsistent treatments, and a lawn that now looks worse than it should.
We are relieved to have finally ended our relationship with TruGreen. It is unfortunate that it took this much frustration and disappointment to make that decision.
After more than eight years, TruGreen didn't just lose a customer. They lost our trust. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend their services

I told the sales representative that I wanted a ONE-YEAR treatment plan because it was a rental property. He assured me that they could do it. I ignored all emails and billing because I thought I was done with them. I found out later that TruGreen continued treatments and sent the bill to collections. So much for listening to the customer....will never work with them again on any of my rental properties....

Need to hire competent people. Teach technician the customer is not always right but they pay the bills. Technician as Trugreen calls them are not trained to handle hilly sites.
Example: one technician thought it was easier to ride a machine to aerate my lawn instead of a self propelled push aerator.
Refused to do the hilly part of the lawn as they would have had to do it by hand. Too steep for the machine. I was quoted by Krystal for the entire lawn regardless of the steepness.
Tore my lawn apart! I was told by Krystal, candler office, NC, it would be repaired the next day.
It took over a week for their so call repair.
I was the last property on their route.
One of the “technician” was very rude when confronted with questions. They should be taught not to argue with the customer. I had problems with Trugreen from the start. Appears this company does not know what the left hand is doing
From the right hand.
Even the manager does not seem to care.
I was told someone would come over to take a look at the yellow spots in the lawn.
I was told, Nick would be coming by.
I called Trugreen to let them know Nick was not allowed on my lawn. I had a confrontation with Nick when I asked him if I could help him. He was taking a break on my bench by the water and his truck was blocking my driveway.
9 am, in the morning, did Nick really need a break already in the area designated for my guests!
Bottom line, sales lady said she could no longer work for me. I contacted Antoine Williams, manager. I asked if it was normal for a sales lady to refuse to work for someone. He assured me it was not. I have not heard from anyone trying to rectify the situation.
I guess I was fired😂

I was extremely happy in fact I’m still extremely happy with the way my lawn looks. The unfortunate part is this company is absolutely 100% impossible to get in touch with.

Bills for five applications but only delivers two. Weed control is non existent! Lawn is full of mature broadleaf weeds here in September. Over priced and terrible service.

In November 2025 I signed a TruGreen agreement for 9 lawn services at a total of $597.17. TruGreen's own terms say annual billing won't exceed that amount unless the agreement is amended by written notice to the customer.
I never received any notice. My per-visit charge went from $69.24 to over $76, and fuel and credit card surcharges were added. When I questioned it, TruGreen said the surcharges were shown on work order summaries I was never sent, and that the increase went out in a mass email to all customers. That was not notice to me.
I cancelled by phone in June. I was still charged $76.68 in July. When I cancelled in writing, I was told I owed even more. In total I paid $625.06 on a $597.17 contract.
Only after I complained did TruGreen credit some of the surcharges, as a "good faith gesture." That is not how a company with integrity treats its customers.
Read your agreement closely, keep records of every call, and cancel in writing. I won't use TruGreen again.

Well, going with TruGreen was a COLOSSAL WASTE OF HUNDRED OF DOLLARS!. I was very proud of my luxuriant lawn, but – over the last 3 years or so – the lawn seemed to wan and bald spots appeared. I had a TruGreen technician come out and he said I had a mite infestation. He proposed a 3-pronged approach; 1) a pesticide treatment of the lawn to kill the mites, 2) a weed control application, and 3) an “overseeding” in the fall. I agreed to this and signed a contract. Whether or not I still have mites, I cannot say, but I can say – WITH ABSOLUTE CONVICTION – that the weeds in my lawn are the worst than they’ve ever been in all the years I’ve lived here. I also just heard from a TruGreen representative that I will not be receiving any overseeding services. Talk about tossing hundreds of dollars down the drain! I would advise anyone considering TruGreen to get much more specifics than I did.

Kadeisha listened, ask questions and solved my issues regarding services bill versus service services request requested. She was polite, professional, and exceeded my expectations. I appreciate her and would like her management structure to realize what a valuable asset she is.

After two years of treatment our yard that was perfectly green and healthy has become a disaster in fall of 2026. It has gradually increased in dry and bear spots. Whatever it is they are using has been killing the yard rather than make it healthy. Stay away from using their services. I wish this site allowed posting of photos.

Tru Green is worst service and absolutely has no idea about local lawns and weeds. Used nearly a year but they introduced new weeds from their treatments than removing exiting weed. They can;t control even spurge , clover weeds too. but will keep you pushing in to edge to get higher cost plans and other service always marketing pitch than resolving issues

True Green has turned my lawn into the best lawn in my neighborhood. It lush green and weed free. EJ Anderson turned me on to True Green and we haven't looked back. EJ has been a real help in the process making the plan a great value. In addition, the team has been responsive to our needs even going so far as to resend key areas I requested after aeration.

I subscribed to TruGreen for a one-year treatment package using a promotional discount. However, after the one-year period ended, I was surprised to find that I continued to be charged for another year without realizing that the service would automatically continue.
I tried to cancel the service online and by phone, but I had difficulty reaching anyone. I also could not find a clear customer-service email address in the emails I received. Eventually, I found an email address through another source and contacted them directly, requesting immediate cancellation and asking why my credit card had continued to be charged for several months.
I was told that the charges continued because the service would remain active until I specifically requested termination of the contract. I understand that this may be part of their terms, but I was disappointed that the continuation of the service and recurring charges were not clear to me when I initially purchased the one-year package.
What makes the experience more frustrating is that I did not see any noticeable improvement in my lawn despite the continued service and charges.
I recommend that anyone considering a TruGreen promotional or annual package carefully review the renewal and cancellation terms and monitor their credit-card statements. Based on my experience, I personally would not recommend the service.
