The nurse and vet who treated my cat's burst abscess were kind and understanding, giving clear advice. It was an emergency appointment and I was somewhat prepared for a high cost. However, £350 jus... See more

Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When I arrived receptionist was expecting me and knew my problem. My dog was triaged immediately with options clearly explained.

Friendly and sympathetic reception and reassuring and competent examiner whose surprising diagnosis has turned out to be correct. An important service available at otherwise a difficult time to get advice (a Sunday evening).

Caring & compassionate with a thorough examination. We hope not to return! Thank you ☺️

This was our 2nd visit in a month. The staff were fantastic as always. It was particularly busy and they dealt with it in a very professional manner, especially as it seemed some people had attended for repeat prescriptions and not emergency care. Probably the same type of people clogging up hospital A&E Depts!
All the staff treated us with respect and compassion and clearly have the animals best interests at heart. Everything is explained clearly and in a non patronising or condescending manner. I completely trust these vets and in an emergency would not take either of my dogs anywhere else.

Amazing team. We’re very honest about the wait time when I arrived. The receptionist was lovely and understanding for everyone’s worries. No one wants to have to spend time at the out of hours unless they need to for their fur babies. And the VetsNow team worked as quickly as they could for a very busy waiting room. My kitten was looked over and treated with the best care to help get him back to his normal self.
Following an emergency on Sunday with my reactive dog Tucker, I called the vet. I did have to wait outside for a long time but the vet Zuusan (not sure on the spelling) was amazing. She listened and answered all questions. She got on the floor to calm my dog and he warmed to her immediately. I cannot fault her care. The receptionist was also kind and took time to ensure Tucker was relaxed.
Excellent vet and quick appointment but price of the medication was excessive in my opinion. £19 to dispense each medication which was paracetamol and probiotics. Then the price of the drugs on top. Otherwise a good experience.
The service was very good but the pricing was outrageous. You are taking advantage of pet owners who are in a difficult position requiring out of hours treatment.
We were kept fully informed of the progress of our cat. The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions.

The care I had from the OOH vet was ok but the fact I had to travel 40 minutes to a different county as my GP vets don't offer OOH and this was the nearest I was signposted to, plus I was holding on the phone line for 20 minutes, it's a miracle my cat didn't die. It then cost me £412 - which mostly encompassed an extortionate £302.50 consultation fee and an extra £35 admin fee for them to process the insurance claim, even though I'd paid them upfront, it felt like a company taking advantage of a very sick animal for grotesque amounts of profit. A phonecall was made today today to a local vet in my town who accept unregistered emergency patients OOH for a £99 fee. I don't think I need to say anymore about this company. I feel very taken advantage of. It's disgusting practice.

Having been told that the vet would be waiting at the vets now surgery we arrived with support from all the staff at the vets.after a thorough examination and care from the vet and nurse the outcome was a relief to our concerns. The vet and staff are very caring and professional.

They were very kind and understanding on the phone, I didn't wait long at the vet's to be seen, and the vet was very good, giving me plenty of options for treatment of my dog. A very positive experience, cost was the one down side
