Very caring and compassionate staff. I'd have happily given 5 stars, however the fees are extortionate. Having to go there in an emergency is terrifying enough and then you're hit by a massive bill.

Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Helpful staff but a customer toilet would be very useful. This is the only out of hours vet in quite a wide area and, door to door your visit could be several hours without access to a loo which could be extremely difficult for some. There are several signs clearly stating the toilet is staff only.
Friendly efficient and calming. My small dog was in a bad way when we arrived, I was terrified i may lose her. It was around 2.30am Sunday Morning.
My dog had been attacked by a stray or lost XL Bully, she had deep puncture wounds all over her body. The vet calmly shaved around them, cleaned them out with a solution, and stapled them.
He reassured me that no vital organs had been punctured, which was what I was terrified of.
I was so lucky that they where able to deal with her out of hours. I am grateful we have this emergency service.
I am very pleased to say my little girl is now fully recovered 🙏
We had a severe emergency with our dog an hour from home. Our regular vet urgently advised us to divert immediately to Vets Now Southampton, 15 minutes away.
From the start, the central call handler ignored the medical urgency. Instead of getting a critical animal through the door, he was entirely consumed by harvesting admin details and warning us of their £313 fee.
He actively obstructed us and wasted critical emergency time by:
• Refusing the address: Insisting on collecting admin details before giving us the clinic's physical address.
• Ignoring our reality: Repeatedly demanding the postcode of our moving car, ignoring that we were already close by and just needed to know where the building was.
• Following a script blindly: Not listening to my actual responses, failing to understand the situation, and just blindly reading off a script.
In total frustration with his obstruction, I hung up and drove the 40 plus minutes back to our own vet. Our dog passed away just as we arrived. While I am not blaming Vets Now for her death, I am utterly disgusted by the call centre's attitude.
I appreciate they are a business. An emergency service should (at least pretend to) put an animal's welfare above upfront administration and fees. Their obsession with following a script instead of focusing on getting an animal to emergency care is the exact opposite of what you need in a crisis.
Quite late afternoon/evening on a Sunday, reception/nurse on duty very friendly, reassuring care from the efficient vet who saw our greyhound, very happy with the whole service
Lovely vets, thorough with how my pet was checked.
Explained very clearly.
Very friendly vets, was given antibiotics for my little dogs eye and now my dog is better.
She's very happy and I'm happy and relieved with how they dealt with the problem promptly, and now my dog is back to her normal self so thank you.
No problem at all with how Twiglet was looked after, in fact 5 stars. Just the price is a little steep.
However thank you very much for looking after our little dog who is now recovering, albeit slowly due to her age.
Quick and efficient service, in the out of hours
Helpful and friendly staff
Every single person was lovely. Very helpful, informative and cared so well for my puppy! Thankyou
I went at 10pm to deal with what looked like a serious issue, and Vets Now were incredibly helpful and understanding. They clearly described the different options, and gave realistic timescales after a triage process. They were helpful in explaining how the insurance process worked and went through step by step.
Our GSD developed bloat symptoms on a Saturday evening in Wales she was deteriorating fast and we were unable to find a local vet to help so called vets now and made our way to Colwyn Bay where Nuala was diagnosed and treated that evening by Jennifer. We were so relieved to get the call at 2 am to say all went well.
We expect to pay more for out of hours emergency care but it was worth every penny. All of the staff were caring

Such an amazingly helpful team, helped me with my buns sudden gi stasis. Only fault is the insane out of hours fee, almost £550 in total, where the same treatment at my usual vet was just under £100

What a great service rang late at night as found injured wild bird in the road, guy on the phone was calm and informative. Contacted vet while I was in car, text me directions and I simply walked in. Lady on desk was lovely and nothing too much trouble. Great vets when in need, highly recommend

This company helped my cat who was in a very unexpected life threatening situation. They kept her safe and hydrated while they ran tests to try and find out the cause unfortunately this was and still has not been determined. Their care and support for her was impeccable and she survived the night until I was able to move her to the PDSA a few hours later. Thank to everyone in the team that night and especially the vet and receptionist that I spoke with. They were both so kind, reassuring and supportive of both my cat and I. I highly recommend them.

They did what they said they would do. We found the process difficult to follow as we went from he is ok to he needs to be kept in to he needs to be kept in over night.
I transfered vets in the morning to my local vet who repeated some of the tests and arrived at a different conclusion.
It difficult to say the impact they had and what the outcome would have been if we had not followered their advice.
So overall 3 Stars as i still have so many questions.
