Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We had to take our Jack Russell for emergency treatment to Vets Now over the bank holiday weekend as our usual practice was closed. I think that we were seen by their vet Naomi.
Naomi was patient with our reactive dog and made her as comfortable as possible. She reassured us about the next steps of treatment and provided us with the medication needed to keep our dog comfortable until we could be referred to a specialist.
Edit: After reading several reviews about pricing I wanted to add an extra comment. We have been to two different out-of-hours vets over this bank holiday weekend. The first vet practice we visited had a similar out-of-hours fee for the appointment as Vets Now, however Vets Now provided far superior care for our dog and were a lot more knowledgeable. They are well worth the price for emergency cases and we found the medication provided to be a reasonable cost too.

Very Very efficient and very pleasant. I found them very expensive that would be my only complaint.

Feel like these vets are all about money and not the actual wellbeing of animals I had a very poorly 7 week old kitten he went down hill rapidly I was terrified I was going to lose him I contacted my usual vets to be put through to these I explained the problem to be told that’s fine pop down we will get him seen to straight away. Before the call ended I’m getting all there fees chucked at me when my heads all over the place £347 just for an appointment is disgusting this was without any extra money for his treatment! Vets are supposed to be animal lovers they are just out for lining there pockets if you don’t have the money to hand over just like that they will fully just leave your animal to suffer

In an emergency it was so good to have a video call with a vet. I was able to show my pets injury over the phone, with no appointment. I was given information for a local out of hours vets.

The nurse and vet listened to my concerns and were able to diagnose the problem.
Unfortunately, when I collected the dog, I was told my vet would be informed but it took a phone call from my vet to get the report.
And had to take the dog to my vet the following day because they had missed one of the seeds in the mouth
Otherwise would have go five stars

I don't have any complaints about this Vetinary practice and happy to pay the extra cost being on a Saturday afternoon consult and for the treatment meds. However I was shocked to see the costs of the dispensed meds, approx 650% markup. Had I received my invoice before paying I would have declined these meds and sourced myself. Make sure you know what you are paying for.

Very forcefully tried to put my dog down during an epileptic episode before even attempting to stabilise him they told me he was brain dead and wanted to put him down with needles ready before even trying to explain the situation.
Fast forward a couple weeks and numerous tests at the RVC including an MRI and all checks came back clear with and a very healthy dog which just needs his medication adjusting for his epilepsy. Disgusting customer service the vet was not concerned for his health at all nor the delicate situation and wanted the easy out route of putting him down. I will never take a pet to this out of hours clinic ever again.

An emergency overnight stay for our 1 year old dog - they made what could have been a very stressful experience as calm as possible. First class care for animals and owners. Thank you.

The staff were so friendly and caring- I couldn’t have hoped for a better experience. Not only did they completely calm me down after a very panicked phone call - they were professional and caring once inside. My guinea pig was triaged immediately and then given a full thorough examination. My stress was alleviated and the vet gave me further advice to not only support the wellbeing of my pet but to help alleviate unnecessary costs. I felt as if all the staff were on my side and took any concerns I had seriously. Worth every single penny for the peace of mind and professionalism.

We took our dog in as she had a very high temperature and the girls were absolutely amazing! Our dog is a very nervous Viszla and I really didn’t want to leave her. She stayed overnight and when we collected her in the morning she didn’t want to leave! Great experience.

Kind caring attentive vets. The vets kept me updated on my dogs progress whilst hospitalised and took the time to answer all my questions. I felt Jessie was very well cared for.
