Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The vet was very nice and reassuring and made us feel at ease
We went to the surgery out of hours as our dog was showing signs of heat stroke. We were made aware of the cost of the fee £313.50 but felt we had no choice. However we were then charged £88.80 for a bottle of Metacam we could purchase from our local vet for £17. I think this is really unfair. We were with the vet for less than 20 minutes how is this fair and justifiable? It's a shame when the vet who helped Bertie was lovely to be hit with such a huge bill.
I had my Husky Dog Maya to out of hours . She was 12 blind brain tumour end stage renal failure .She was poorly sick etc . I was given the appropriate advice treatment for her from staff & Vet was brilliant . The vet told me that she didnt have long left . They got everything 100% spot on . Sadly Maya did pass away on 16th July 2026 as advised within that few weeks period . Thankyou to everyone involved in treating her . I got that few weeks to make memories and say a proper goodbye . A lot of folk never get that and I feel fortunate to have got that time .

The vet had no interactive skills. She was rude in the way she approached us like we were wasting her time. She also said our dog needed treatment but they did not have any. She then said she could prescribe some cleaning solution for our dogs sore but we could just get some off amazon. I found her unprofessional with a poor manner.

Vets Now, was a brilliant service, we were seen really quick, when we arrived at the vets the staff were so lovely and put us at ease. Luckily our dog was okay in the end but the nurse we saw was really lovely with our dog. Thank you for a brilliant service.

Receptionist very helpful and welcoming. Vet seemed rushed and didn't really put me at ease. Seemed annoyed to be there.

The staff are incredibly friendly , comforting and show they are competent and experienced. They treated Errol so fast and made sure we knew what was going on every step of the way, even for a non life threatening but very painful injury like the one our dog managed to inflict upon himself.
