I’ve been using Xara software for years when it was on disc.
Last year I signed up for the “subscription” and barely used it.
All of a sudden I got an email saying subscription was renewed with no previous email giving me a warning it was renewing so I could make the choice to cancel it.
So I cancelled it and contacted them asking for a refund. They said no!
I feel like I’ve been ripped off!
The price even was way up from the previous year!!!
Not impressed with such poor customer service!

Matt was superb. A trifling problem with an email account change that had me confused but was fixed very quickly.
I have been using Xara Pro Design for a few years now. The software is fantastic, it has allowed me to build websites, upload them, and change them whenever necessary.
For me not only does Xara give me the capability of building the websites, it's incredible tools and layout functions are easier, (than the better known word processing software) faster and allow me to prepare a complex newsletter without clashes of image over text. No need for wrap around functions, you can actually just literally drop an image in and move things around.
And when my lack of knowledge on how things work breaks down (because invariably it is always something I did) the customer support is via live chat and solutions are found quickly. Even when it was an issue with a browser there was no hesitation in assisting. 10/10 easily the most versatile, unique and inventive software I've ever used.
HIGHLY recommend.
My recent experience with Xara tech support has been nothing but excellent. The response was within a couple of hours and in some cases within minutes. The support person proactively solved my problem as soon as the problem was defined. The problem was with my account, not the software itself, which is a workhorse. I've never had any problem with the software.

Starting with Web Designer, and graduating to Designer Pro X, The well-rounded package, providing powerful tools for web design, image editing and document design has served my needs well for years. Xara has always provided me with excellent support. My most recent experience involved questions regarding streaming video to the pasteboard layer. Matt and the team provided me with the required code in timely and friendly fashion. Thanks Xara.
Outstanding service from highly qualified staff
I've owned a fully paid license for Xara X for many years. I changed computers and tried to get a new download link. Xara technical support referred me to Magix technical support, since I was not looking to buy new software. Despite providing my serial number and activation key, Magix Tech Support claimed they don't have a record of my email (although my email predates my using Xara) and referred me back to Xara. Despite copying both contacts, neither organization recognized the problem or had any interest in keeping the customer. I'm forced to move off Xara. Looking at a trial copy of Affinity Designer.

Xara Web Designer Pro has to be the worst piece of software I have EVER had the misfortune to try and use. Buggy doesn't do justice to it. It is truly dreadful
Matt. I do acknowledge the very good support you have provided over time and it is appreciated. Sadly my experiences of the product do not match your support. I also appreciate I have an older version (sadly no longer with the additional resources!) but am very reluctant to invest in a newer version given my overall experience.

Xara helpdesk and support are not responding.
They do not refund the money
Cancelling the subscription is very confusing
You cannot remove your credit card
They designed the cancellation of the subscription so that after canceling it, it is extended for another year and a fee is charged for it
I am not interested in apologies and idiotic explanations on Trustpilot
Please refund the money

I love the Xara policy to continue to make improvements sorting out problem issues and to bring on board great new features giving its customers additional tools to further enhance what can be done differently in the web and social media platforms. The response to questions and help I've requested are responded to immediately and politely.

Changed from the MAGIX WebDesigner+ which I was using since it's version 7 (I think) - means for really a long time. After MAGIX doesn't handle this product anymore I was advised to move my account to XARA. This worked perfectly and I can update and maintain all my websites without problems using XARA now.
Recently I had to renew my second PC and asked the support how I coud install XARA on this. The support was very helpful and the installation ran without any problems.
A little language confusion shall not be unremarked: I asked in German, recieved an answer in Dutch, responded in English and received an answer in German.. :-)
