The best reference manager, made by researchers and non-profit!
I've been using Zotero for about 15 years and, while it was already really useful at the time, it has improved so much in the past few years, with more regular updates that do not add useless or bulky features but instead make the program work more efficiently. So I thought it was time to give back and say how much I love Zotero!
You can use it to gather references (for example, research papers, including the actual pdf of the article), organise them, tag them, add notes to them while reading, export the notes, and most importantly cite the references in any format you want in a host of programs (Word, Libre Office, google documents..).
The only drawback at this stage is that it doesn't work with Word Online, but apparently they're working on it.
Oh, and I forgot: it's open-source, and from a non-profit organisation, which should mean you can use it with with a clean conscience :)
Thanks Zotero for being around! Please do not change :)
