A Grand Reserve member no more.
I have been a Grand Reserve member at Total Wine for many years. My wife and I have attended numerous wine tastings, regularly shopped at Total Wine, and enjoyed the benefits that come with Grand Reserve status, including discounts, rewards, and complimentary magazines.
That relationship ends today.
After the way my wife and I were treated at the Noblesville location, combined with an ongoing failure to maintain the store’s cigar humidor, I will no longer spend my money at Total Wine—at this location or any other.
For context, Total Wine has been my regular source for cigars. Unfortunately, the humidor at the Noblesville store is down yet again—at least the third time I have encountered this problem. Each time it malfunctions, it seems to remain out of service for an extended period, leaving the store unable to sell cigars.
Last year, when I politely asked a cashier how long the humidor would be down, I was met with an unnecessarily rude response. I was told she had no idea and that the Carmel location was “10 miles down the road.” Apparently, expecting a functioning humidor at the Noblesville store—or simply asking when it might be repaired—was unreasonable.
More than two weeks ago, another employee told me the humidor was down again but should be repaired within approximately two weeks. I returned today and found it still out of service, with no cigars available for purchase.
I selected a bottle of bourbon, my wife selected a beverage, and we went to the checkout. I noticed a copy of Cigar Aficionado magazine, which is one of the benefits I receive as a Grand Reserve member. There was no line behind us, so I attempted to open the Total Wine app to access the offer.
The cashier, Wendy, told me that I should open the app at home before coming to the store because there is no signal inside, and that she could not provide the complimentary magazine unless I already had the app open when I entered the store.
Think about that for a moment: a longtime Grand Reserve customer was essentially told that the store’s poor cellular reception was my problem and that I should have prepared for it before arriving.
As Wendy rang up our two purchases, she discovered that I had a $5 reward available. Her proposed solution was that I use my own $5 reward to pay for a magazine that was supposed to be a complimentary Grand Reserve benefit.
When I then asked about the status of the humidor repair, Wendy suggested that I go to the Carmel Total Wine—or simply shop at another cigar store in Noblesville.
That suggestion I will take.
After we left, my wife commented that Wendy appeared visibly annoyed that she had to wait on us. That was also my impression of the interaction.
Any one of these issues might be dismissed as a bad day or an isolated incident. Taken together, however—the repeatedly broken humidor, extended repair times, the rude encounter last year, and today’s dismissive treatment—they demonstrate a level of customer service that I am no longer willing to tolerate.
I have spent enough money at Total Wine over the years to earn Grand Reserve status. I don’t expect special treatment because of that status. I do, however, expect basic courtesy, functioning services, and employees who don’t make customers feel as though their presence is an inconvenience.
So when an employee tells a longtime customer to shop at another location or another cigar store, perhaps the appropriate response is to listen.
I will.
I will no longer shop at Total Wine, and I am posting this so other customers—particularly those considering investing their loyalty and money to achieve Grand Reserve status—understand the level of service they may receive in return.
Total Wine has lost a longtime Grand Reserve customer. Not because of one broken humidor, one magazine, or one unpleasant interaction, but because repeated problems and dismissive customer service finally made it clear that my business is neither needed nor valued.
I absolutely love Total Wine in Hamburg…
I absolutely love Total Wine in Hamburg Lexington KY . Never had a bad experience. Until Friday 7/31/2026
I am disabled with a bad back my son was drivinge me he pulled up to the front not blocking anyone mine you. But my back was hurting so he did want me to walk far. I was in there less than 8 mins
Everyone's always been so pleasant. I guess he was a manager I wasn't able to get his name. He ask my son if he was door dash he said no. He has a bald head I guess you'll know who he is he proceeds to tell him he can't park there and the next time he'll call someone (police). That was not necessary to threaten him. So I go back in there my mother bear had taken over. He says all my son had to do is back up a little. Which to me that's all he had to say not threaten to call someone ( police). First bad experience at Total Wine ever. Threat's are not necessary just use your respectful words sir.
Their website is awful
Their website is awful. They run a $99+ free delivery offer but it doesn't work! I clicked the link in the email spent an hour on trying to get it to work but it still wants to charge me for shipping!! And when I called the 800# the person offered no explanation, no apology was rude and told me the only way i can place this order and get free delivery is to provide HIM with my credit card number!! which obviously I am not comfortable doing!! The phone reps are awful and I will NOT be shopping there again. I'll go to ABC instead

I purchased on line 11 bottles of red wine 2021 to pick them up. When I arived they put inside the box 2022. I called them and he answer me: it's the same.... WTF is that.
Year on red wine is too important and the price is not the same.
I don't understand how someone sell 2022 and delivery 2022.

Total wine is a disappointing place to buy beer. You can’t trust what they say they have online. It is disappointing that beer can’t be ordered and shipped. I wish there was a better beer retailer; but I’m stuck with total wine.
Terrible Service
Allowed a delivery order from another person on my account. I live in Arizona, the order is going to Missori. I have been on hold for customer service for over 30 minutes to report this.
Employee either lied or didnt know what…
Employee either lied or didnt know what they were talking about they swapped out a bottle straight bourbon with a blended Canadian whiskey. When I called him out on it he said they just changed the bottle design. I even made a comment "so they just rounded down the proof huh? I spoke with the manager and they said they wouldn't take an exchange on a sealed bottle. Out 185 bucks and I won't shop here again.
The app is terrible
The app is terrible. You try to look up items and nothing. It need worked on.
Security Personnel
I am wondering if Total Wines and More has a policy of security officers following Black men around the store. Yesterday a latina officer followed my partner into the store. I went in another direction and she had followed him looking at him. I made eye contact and she disappeared. This is the second incident. The first a latino security watching and followed him as he existed the store. I had our purchases in the basket and existed behind him. I made eye contact with as well to see if he was going to approach him. At that point he went back into the store. This is frustrating as we only come to make purchases not to steal.
Always a great experience!
Ordered online many times over the years and always had a good experience. Any order problems are always quickly resolved, often exceeding my expectations. I try to buy all my alcohol here when I can.
Hard to find Bourbon instock
Ordered something on line that is currently pretty hot among bourbon enthusiasts and it was in stock. I ordered and paid online, then drove up to the store, 40 mins away. Pulled into a spot, alerted my arrival in the app and some was out to hand me my order within a few mins... It was awesome. North Brunswick location. Will definitely return 👍
Their Ads are Deceptive
This store has a great selection and great prices, but there is always a catch to the deals they offer. For the past week I have been bombarded by emails from them telling me I can save 20% OFF on wines this Memorial Day. So I went into the store and asked a clerk how I can tell which wines were part of the sale, and he told me the ones with the yellow labels. He didn't say anything about needing to download an app. So I went to the register and the cashier asks me if I downloaded the app. I told her I was a member but I didn't know anything about an app. And there was a line of people behind me, so I wasn't going to stand there and download an app. So I went ahead and paid full price for the wine. Which pisses me off. Because everytime they have a sale like that THERE IS ALWAYS A CATCH. Their ads are deceptive as hell. You MUST read the fine print, or you'll get screwed.
No love for fallen warriors or their families
They refer to Memorial Day as 'The Long Weekend' now. No respect for those who served and are no longer with us. They even disconnected the chat with me when I asked why?
If I could give them 0 stars I would
If I could give them 0 stars I would. DO NOT USE THEM - they are terrible. They missed 2 deliveries and we were relying on them for a party. DO NOT USE THEM.

Impressive selection of extraordinary wines from Israel, in particular Judean Hills. Better than French wine.
Total Wine & customer service in time of need
I recently placed a delivery order with Total Wine & More from the Shrewsbury location while preparing for a very important family event--my father's 90th birthday, combined with another celebration and my daughter being inducted into a nationally recognized business school for being at the top of her class.
I want to be clear: I understand deliveries can be busy, but this experience was extremely disappointing and caused unnecessary stress at a critical time.
The driver arrived and parked down the street without hazard lights, remained in his car on his phone, and made no attempt to approach the house, ring the doorbell, or identify himself. I was outside speaking with my landscapers near my driveway--where delivery drivers typically pull in--and had no idea he was there.
When I approached his vehicle and knocked on his window, thinking he was lost or something, he stated he was delivering for Total Wine and needed my license. Given that I am currently disabled and recovering from shoulder surgery, I politely asked if he could bring the order to my door, as most drivers do. He showed no willingness to help.
I went inside to quickly retrieve my license, and within what could not have been more than 45 seconds, he had already left. The order was marked "missed delivery" and returned--despite the fact that I had made contact and was actively completing the process.
When I called customer support, I was told the best they could do was reschedule for the next day--completely unacceptable given that my event was starting within hours. The store was equally unhelpful, offering only to have me reorder (including paying delivery and tip again), with no effort to resolve the situation in real time--even though the driver was likely still nearby.
As a result, we had to scramble and send someone to another store during the event to salvage the situation.
This was not about the cost--it was about reliability, professionalism, and basic customer service

Brennan did an amazing job with a super fun winetasting party I attended at Total Wine in Overland Park Kansas I had no idea when I was invited to this, that I would walk away with a better understanding of Italian wines. This was the focus of the wine tasting although Brennan is very familiar with French wines, Napa wines etc. Truly a wonderful experience I’m now better educated on what wines to buy at a reasonable price
24 hours after placing the order
24 hours after placing the order, they email me that they cannot complete the order. Called 2 X and was placed on hold for over 5 minutes. On my 3rd try, i was given some gibberish about being in a queue, so, my confirmed order was now cancelled. THIS IS THE WORST SITE TO ORDER WINE FROM!!! Unprofessional, disorganized, unresponsive, totally not helpful, etc. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE!!!

Where in the world the price of the beer is so high. They sell non alcoholic beer for 13 dollars and the regular beer for 34 dollars. Who they think are?
Someone must report to the authority and give them a huge ticket to pay
