The online functionality and reliability of data is essential especially for an independent production company such as ours hence Vimeo’s integration and functionality helped a lot!
With Viméo, a single unread email can cost you a lot
I generally find Vimeo to be a good and reliable service
However, I was recently affected by a major subscription change, where my plan was automatically moved to a much more expensive tier (around a 10x increase). Even if an email was sent, the impact and scale of the change felt unexpected and not very transparent in practice.
The issue was eventually resolved by support, but this type of pricing strategy does not really reflect strong respect for long-term users.
I do not understand why the law does not require active consent for such a significanlty price change.
It’s worth paying close attention to plan update emails, as changes in SaaS subscriptions can sometimes be more significant than they first appear.

Signed up for yearly subscription instead of montly by mistake, let it ride the free time but got hit by the yearly charge after. Filled a support case and got refunded promptly.
My account created in 2010 is being held hostage until I give "Persona" my ID?
Blocking my access to my own account and settings until I give my ID to some shady third party with a dubious privacy policy full of contradictions for an account I set up over 16 years ago!?
Age assurance (depending on which countries legislation they are attempting to comply with) actually includes other captain obvious signals like when was the account created or credit cards without putting personal data at risk of yet another data breach.
I'll pass on Vimeo until they come to their senses by the sounds of the other reviews even somewhere with less vague legislation it still sucks these days.
Ironically my videos are safe for work so I find this confusing to say the least. Thankfully I backed them up elsewhere.

Identity Crisis
I've been with Vimeo for a very, very long time and have experienced all of the changes it has attempted to stay relevant. I've always felt that Vimeo can't decide on WHAT it wants to be as a platform and that is why it's behavior seems so erratic. I'm a Video Artist. I use Vimeo as my Resource Library for all of my videos. It is also the platform used most for when applying for shows. In that sense it has performed for me quite well. I do register some of the faults others have listed. BUT i will stay by my opinion that Vimeo has an identity problem. Once it figures out what it wants to be, it should be way better than what it is now.

Yet again Vimeo letting businesses down. Closed my business, had no access to the email associated with the account and they kept charging me, in excess of £700. They refused to refund any as hit behind their Ts and Cs. Painful to deal with and not acting at all in the interests of their customers.

Do not sign up for a free period of viewing
I watched some of a series on Vimeo and then agreed to watch a free period with a notification before charging. Next thing I am charged $180 …who are these people…no wonder the internet is flooded with complaints about them…should be reported to AUstralian Consumer Affairs for breach of our Consumer Law…
Vimeo has been nothing but trouble…
Vimeo has been nothing but trouble since I joined years ago. Its hard to navigate inside the platform. And now - they refuse to let me access my own video without sending them a copy of my passport. And I can't speak to customer service without uploading a copy of my passport. It feels like the users mean absolutely nothing to them. A very soulless company. Very much looking forward to downloading all of my content and then deleting my account for good!
upgrade refund handled well by support team
I had ordered an upgrade because I thought I would use a certain feature that required the update.
After some weeks I found I was not using this feature at all and I had asked for a refund.
It took a bit of mailing back and forth, but this issue was resolved nicely. The support team helped me well.
Vimeo's service is something I have been using for many years and will happily keep using it.
A very nice feature I use a lot is the ability to upload a new version that is accessible through the same link.
