Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 3,816 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complain about severe delivery delays, missed arrival schedules, and parcels being left carelessly in insecure spots around the property without ringing bells. Many people find customer support completely unhelpful, experiencing long waiting queues, unreturned calls, and frustrating interactions when trying to resolve urgent problems with orders. Some reviewers were happy with the remarkably fast delivery options and phenomenal support provided during their shopping journeys. Others also noted extremely quick service times and expressed genuine appreciation for a smooth, pleasant, and generally reliable experience with their purchases.

Amazon advertised a product it cannot deliver, then left me waiting indefinitely

I placed an order for an Apple Watch Series 11 on 7 October 2026, when Amazon advertised dispatch within 1–2 days. Over the following weekend, Amazon continued advertising the same dispatch timeframe and apparent stock availability, even though my earlier order remained unfulfilled.

Eight days later, I still have no confirmed delivery date, no dispatch estimate, and no meaningful explanation.

After numerous conversations with customer service, including an exceptionally unpleasant interaction with a manager, I escalated the matter to Amazon’s Executive Customer Relations Team. They explicitly confirmed that the watch was out of stock but could not provide even an approximate replenishment date.

This is a previous-generation Apple Watch that Apple no longer sells directly. Amazon now predominantly lists refurbished units and limited remaining configurations. Yet nobody at Amazon can confirm whether new stock of my particular configuration will ever become available.

Instead of investigating why Amazon continued advertising such short dispatch times, customer service repeatedly suggested cancellation. Even my formal questions about potentially misleading stock availability were met with generic responses.

Amazon offered me a £25 goodwill credit. That does not resolve the underlying problem.

What makes this particularly unacceptable is the complete absence of accountability. Amazon accepted my order based on an advertised dispatch timeframe, failed to meet it, and now leaves me with an indefinite wait or the option of abandoning my purchase.

I have cancelled my Prime membership and other Amazon subscriptions as a result of this experience.

I do not know whether Amazon knowingly advertised stock it could not obtain. But the continued availability claims, lack of transparency, and repeated cancellation suggestions have completely destroyed my confidence in this retailer.

A company of Amazon’s size should be capable of telling customers whether it can actually supply what it advertises. Apparently, even its executive customer relations team cannot answer that question.

Utterly unacceptable.

Being generous with one star

Being generous with one star. Finally had enough of being lied to continually. Orders not been fulfilled timely despite paying for the privilege i.e. prime then fobbed off by associates sticking to their pre-written conversations. I’ve contacted trading standards with regards to this latest incident and if I was you, I think carefully about choosing Amazon they have shown total disregard to customers and customer service is non-existent. Item I still have no idea where it is only that it’s lost in transit. Time to up your game, Amazon, you do not have the scope you once had.

Amazon are crap and do not care about the customer

Ordered a Halloween outfit for my daughter eight days ago could not speak with the courier or company I bought it from because they was in China and was eventually cancelled. I then found the same outfit from a UK based company called Greatcraft UK or at least I thought it was a UK based company seen as though it had UK in their name, paid for same day delivery only to find out it’s another Chinese company so how the hell are they going to deliver it the same day seems to me that Amazon are absolutely crap and do not give a shit about the customer.

I am a disabled customer

I am a disabled customer. I have a spine injury and I cannot carry packages.
The past 4 weeks have been an absolute nightmare. I rely on deliveries.
My packages have been left in the communal areas and have been stolen. But the most outrageous thing was today when I asked the delivery driver kindly to please bring the 20L cat litter upstairs with the lift he told me through my intercom to shut up and walked away.
Then the customer service representatives kept passing me over and over to another colleague for almost ONE HOUR online!!!
I have spent over £60 on items. With my credit card for extra protection. I genuinely need the support from the company and most importantly the drivers.
Amazon did nothing but kept pushing me around, often saying my packages were received by a family member. I live alone. On top of that I am an orphan, so unless de driver dig up my dead mother of 30 years, there ain’t any other family members he could have handed my items.
Don’t they think if I had someone to help me with the packages or even taking me to buy these items I wouldn’t be relying on deliveries??? Absolutely disgusting.

Amazon not letting customers leave honest feedback to manipulate reviews.

I have been with Amazon prime for a few…

I have been with Amazon prime for a few months now and have been watching a series called Moving On, we was really enjoying it, but when we got to series 7 Amazon decided from this series we would have to pay for it, what a disgrace,I wouldn't mind but even series 7 is over ten years old, so they suck you in and then expect to cash in even more, well I'm afraid I will be cancelling my prime in the next couple of weeks.
What makes matters worst is we have spent over the last 18 months we have spent thousands, and I mean thousands, you would think they would reward there loyal customers, not trying to get more money from them.

Amazon delivery drivers cannot read

The Amazon delivery drivers cannot read.

For the forth time in a few months I have received items left on the doorstep. I have specific instructions to deliver to my parcel box - an item I bought from Amazon.

I'm disappointed ofcom does not regulate delivery companies except Royal Mail (the only company who have always used my parcel box)

Amazon used to be excellent

Amazon used to be excellent, most deliveries arrive no problem, it's when things go wrong, which has happened twice in the last two weeks, the service backup is appalling for such a large company, paid for prime membership for fast delivery, this order is now 5 days late, all i get is delivery delays updates, it's arrived at an Amazon depot only 40 miles from where we are and it's now stuck there
If I could leave a zero rating I would.

Wrong book sent 3 times!

I normally get good service from Amazon UK but lately they have let me down. Ordered a book for a present for a friend's party. The party was on Saturday so ordered the previous Wednesday to be delivered Friday. Actually turned up on Saturday night whilst at the party. Completely the wrong book.
Informed the AI system so they arranged return and replace. Three days later they sent the same wrong book. Actually talked to a rep who arranged a refund and told me I did not need to send the books back. He also told me the system would work this time if I ordered again. So I did. Yesterday the same wrong book arrived again. So who checked it? And why is it asking me now to return all previous books? Total failure. When they get it wrong, it is so automated they make the same mistake 3 times over. Ordered it from world of books instead.

If I could leave zero I would

If I could leave zero I would, they used to be good but now service is so poor, charging for prime next day and same day delivery, refusing refunds due to courier not delivering parcel and shows parcel with courier on hold, fake tracking number so you can’t speak to human because of this so can’t retrieve your product that’s paid for, on record calls due to lies told by customer service and managers, return broken items and having to fight for refund for broken product that’s paid they state they are repairing, cancelled subscription as they not delivering service they charge for, having to use credit card charge back as no protection through Amazon

Damaged product, frustrating customer experience

I ordered a Monopoly Harry Potter board game from Amazon.co.uk for €37.36. It arrived with damaged corners and a torn front on the actual game box. A huge label had been partially torn off, leaving extensive, extremely stubborn adhesive directly on the printed surface.

I spent hours trying to remove the residue and salvage the box. This is not simply damage to an outer shipping carton. The game box is part of the product.

When I tried to leave a product review, Amazon rejected it because it mentioned packaging. I understand that Amazon separates product reviews from seller and delivery feedback, but this is damage to the game box itself.

You are no longer able to contact costumer service. The only option is to arrange an international return by yourself.

I am disappointed that a product costing €37.36 arrived in this condition. I would like Amazon to acknowledge the damage and offer reasonable compensation without requiring an international return.
I hope Amazon improves how it handles damaged products and makes it easier for customers to report these problems.

Would give zero stars if it was available. Delivery not delivered yet again photo of another house and driver says left behind bin Conflicting or what. Customer service agree and say would be delivered by 9pm last night yep no delivery again. When are Amazon going to get grips of their delivery drivers. Reviews show it’s poor extremely poor yet you do nothing. I was a prime member but no longer now and had already reduced my ordering from you so will now stop permanently.

STOP USING AMAZON

I treated myself to some Beats Over ear headphones price at £160.55 on Amazon.
They were delivered on time. I tried them out. Really didappointing for how much money they cost. They are not as good now as when they first came out.
So I wanted to return them.
My only option was to send them back via a post office.
The reason I buy alot from amazon is that you can do alot of returns by home collection. Being disable and unable to walk this is a great advantage for me.
I spoke on the amazon chat to an associate.
No care, got to go to a post office for a return and then refund in 14 days.
I asked put this down as a complaint and to speak to a manager.
She ended the chat.
She should be sacked. Its 2026 and customer service is so poor.
I dont know what I'm going to fo.
For sure, cancel prime and buy items from other sellers!!!!!

Account was cancelled by amazon for no reason and then refused 5x to help me after ringing and going through the same process of giving my personal details and then promising to email me with ways to reopen my account. Average phone time wait is 40+ minutes with no help, no apology and no explanation.

Further Addendum to the ongoing Amazon coffee - part 1

Further Addendum to the ongoing Amazon coffee saga - part 1

The story so far:

I placed an order with Amazon for some jars of coffee, two multipacks of six jars each.

However, when they were delivered on 18 September 2026, they weren't!

What I actually received was only two jars of coffee - instead of two multipacks with six jars in each.

Clearly the weight of the two multipacks is significantly more than two jars, yet the order passed final warehouse weight and size checks and was still delivered.

This has now happened FIVE times, yes, the same order, plus buying an additional something to make the total up to the minimum order, placed FIVE times and FIVE times they have only delivered TWO jars.

The final of these orders was not correctly delivered on 30 September 2026.

Some of the orders were refunded (although one only to a gift card), but on the third one (not properly delivered on 23 Sept) they said they would not give me a refund until I had sent them a copy of a Government issued identity.

To complicate things further, one of these refunds was mostly paid for by the Amazon Gift Card, i.e. the one they sent the credit for the previous order to claiming "so I could immediately use it to place another order".

Amazon quite obviously must suspect me of committing a fraud, otherwise why ask for my Govt. issued id?

Now I can see why companies might want, maybe even be legally obliged, to insist on seeing some id, but my account with Amazon has been active since 27 August 2009 - 17+ years ago, and I have placed 13 orders in the past three months alone.
Furthermore, these purchases were hardly over the £35 minimum order. PLUS, it was Amazon short changing ME!

These orders should have been stopped by the despatch system at the Amazon warehouse - they knew the order being sent was wrong because it was very obviously the wrong weight and size.
Maybe that is where I have gone wrong. I dared to point out that someone at their warehouse must have manually overridden the final weight check.
They know the weight and size of the packages they sent be as well as the weight and size of the items I had ordered – they must have known they were wrong.
I have even sent them photos of the packages which are clearly only large enough for two jars – most certainly not 12!

Each time this happens I spent ages trying to get past their pathetic circular chat facility to speak to a human.
Each time I spoke to a human it took forever to explain what had happened due to them not listening properly, their poor English, they spoke far too quickly (yes, I’m old - bite me!) and their very obvious preconceptions.
Each time I was put on hold for long periods while they claimed to take what must have been copious amounts of notes.
Although, on more than one occasion, those notes from the previous sales would seem to have "disappeared".
Each time I had to buy something extra to get the total over the minimum purchase threshold.
