I’m a reasonable standard self-taught triathlete (raced Kona), but thought having a coach and adding some accountability and structure might take me to a higher level. From the outset, I was surprised at the complicated set-up this form of coaching has. Runna, for instance, is a piece of cake in comparison. I must admit, I hadn’t used TrainingPeaks before, so the layers of complexity seemed unnecessary. I did receive a few emails from a female coach, but found them low energy and lacking true engagement. Obviously, I realised this form of coaching was not for me. It clearly works wonders for some, but I found it a complete waste of time and money. Lesson learned.

I didn't want to pay a subscription just to work on my swimming. Tri swim coach sells just a breathing course, which was perfect for me and got me to finish my swim in my triathlon.
