IT-band syndrome
Alex is very passionate about his career. This is evident in his eagerness for his clients to benefit from his therapy and also by his expertise. It is clear from his level of knowledge he has worked hard at his profession and has a wealth of experience.
I'm 28 and having played competitive sports and run regularly my whole life, I went through a 6 month period where any prolonged running was causing me pain on the outside of my thigh and knee that prevented me doing any meaningful cardiovascular exercise. As a medical doctor, I self-diagnosed myself with an IT-band strain and tried some stretches, foam-rolling and pain-killers for quite a while but got no relief.
On just one video assessment with Alex he quickly identified the other areas in which my issues were originating - causing my posture to compensate putting strain on my right leg/knee resulting in the IT-band strain. Alex went through a stretching regimen with me on the video call for me to do at home myself (he also sent through emails with images explaining the stretches which was handy to reference).
After just 2 further video calls and some additional stretching exercises I am pain free. Within a couple of weeks I have been able to go for 10Km runs on hard ground without so much as a twinge of discomfort -- including hill sprints which would have previously immediately exacerbated my pain.
I highly recommend anyone with persisting MSK issues or other physiotherapy needs to get in touch with Alex. It is important to do the stretches as he advises - I got in to the routine of doing the stretches each day after coming home from work and saw daily progress in my range of motion and reduced discomfort with each stretch/exercise.
