Incompetent and not educated with what they are trying to help with untrained rude stuff
1 completely colourless like my doctors receptionist working on such a website and not knowing what typhus is is unacceptable and how rude speaking over me
Just made me feel worse what a pointless service
I dont think anyone for the NHS…
I dont think anyone for the NHS actually reads these reviews. The whole system is broken! This 111 or 999 service doesnt work in any of the departments in it.
Two months ago it failed me with excruciating abdominal pain and being left in A&E without being checked on, for over 3 hours, also being sick and in and out of sleep after having morphine to staggering out the hospital (due to the morphine) no closer to finding out what was wrong with me to two days later going to the doctors to find out i had a water infection (which at the doctors that was a joke too) my mental was effected massively and i rang 111 for the mental health bit for no one to answer the phone and to be keep being cut off.
I rang yesterday over my son. To have dan on the other end sounding contrasting and making out i was being a hyprocondract over my son with suspected hand foot and mouth, to then be on the phone to a nurse who claimed she couldnt hear me, but she clearly heard me saying no wounder the NHS is on its arse when people dont listen and is clearly broken and her response was the system is in place and it works. My response to that clearly your wrong! After putting the phone done one of the emergency doctors tried ringing me after 7.40 whilst im tring to manage my son pain these calls was through to half 5 this morning! 10 calls throughout the night! Bare in mind i rang 111 at 6.41pm.
Now i cant take my son in nursery til after i have taken him to the doctors at 20 past 10 and have lost a wage for today. Well done NHS and the health secretary your doing a brilliant job, NOT!
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. ALL surgeries in north essex are closed today so had to cal 111. Never got past that poxy computer. Didnt understand where i was even though they repeated it and even when i pressed 1 to confirm it still didnt get it. Gave up. What a shit service
A class action waiting to happen
A class action waiting to happen. No understanding of triage.
This service used to be functional. Helped me through some tough times with a very sick infant years ago. However in the last three years I’ve had to call twice, once for me, once for my eldest.
First, while bleeding and in excruciating pain the call handler refused to deal with the situation and instead made me wade through a checklist form. While blinded by pain she asked me “which is the bigger concern the bleeding or the pain?” As most of this was internal and I was blinded by pain the question was unanswerable. And still I was refused care.
The second time my eldest was holding a bleeding body part that needed immediate professional and in-person attention. The guy on the phone refused to give the information on where to take him until we’d answered another fifty non-relevant questions or so, even though promising he would after each next question.
Total joke. Whoever redesigned this system should be shot and then made to call 111 for help.
Criminals
Called them up on 06/0626 to ask what medication I'm because the hospital and doctors and police are lying about.y health and tampering with my medical records to make it look like I want on the Dunlop ward last year in February they said I my a clinician can do that and they will one to call me back however I received a call from someone claiming to be a nurse she got into my doctors records and said yes I was in hospital in February but I called 111 back and they told me that it wasn't there clinician who called me very odd trying to get my address in order to commit fraud by getting my address and details anyway whilst I was in the original call to 111 I told the handler I don't take my heart medication because they areyibg about my health and they I'm very poorly as a result I told her that I'm sick everyday with blood and that I can't breathe very good and I have crushing chest pain and abdominal pain and stomach and back pain she said are you bleeding lots from anywhere I I'm sticking up blood she said no are you bleeding from anywhere I said do you mean on the outside of my body she said yes I said no why would I be bleeding on the outside of my body anyway she put in a form to my GP and it said man has chest pains and back pains and is bleeding oh right really when I told you I wasn't bleeding only sicking up blood nothing about having a heart attack and I was also told she couldn't send ab ambulance because I wouldn't give her my address over a hacked that's why they got someone pretending to be a nurse in order to get my address it's ok it's all with the newss papers now along with my recordings
Called asking for medical advise but didnt get advise just attitude and a call back
Called asking for medical advise but instead was given a rude, condescending attitude, making me feel like im dumb, you have a duty of care as a 111 operator, people call with real life issues, speaking with some care goes a long way
Called because side effects of…
Called because side effects of medication causes my airways to close up and my throat to become restricted, was told to wait for a call back which came around midnight, the person on the phone just repeated what i had already told them and then asked me what i want them to do for me, absolutely ridiculous if i wouldnt be calling a so called medical professional if i knew the answers myself, when i explained this i was told she wasnt going to argue with me, just for pointing out the obvious so i ended the call. Id rather suffocate and die than have to deal with th8/ over and over again, sadly the entire nhs is the same.
I went away on holiday and forget one of my tabley
I went away on holiday and forget one of my tablets which if I did not take for over a week would not have helped my condition. I contacted 111 and spoke to Brogan who was very professional and efficient. Obviously there were the usual security question asked and she asked for the nature of my call. She promptly gave me two options one of which was to use a local pharmacy and she would contact them with regard to supplying me with sufficient tablets for my holiday. With 30 minutes the pharmacy contacted me and said my prescription would be ready within the next 30 minutes. When I got to the pharmacy the staff were very helpful and pleasant and provided me with my tablets. All of this only took just over an hour from original call to me collecting the tablets. Cannot fault the service I received.
The agent was rude and condescending…
The agent was rude and condescending from the start of the call and throughout. I was in severe pain and tried my best to answer the long list of questions, however I had to listen to big sighs and ‘for heavens sake’ throughout. I will not use this service again.
Friendly, efficient service.
Great service, very efficient. Needed emergency dental treatment. The call handler was calm and friendly. Had to wait till next day but received a call from an emergency dentist the next day, sorted tooth out no problem.
What an utterly useless system
What an utterly useless system. All you get is someone with no medical training who follows a flow chart drawn by an algorithm with no understanding of people in pain.
Why ask what the problem is then ask what is the most pressing worry. If I am light headed and dizzy then my most pressing worry is obviously the inability to stand up, turn around or drive without feeling unwell. IF I told him I could not work and was on the way home early, then obviously it is affecting my ability to carry out normal routines.
What a waste of space..they read off a…
What a waste of space..they read off a script and if the question isnt on the script they blow a fuse. Best ask someone on the street .
Yasar was rude
Yasar was rude, condescending and patronising. I told him the issue is getting worse by the minute, he told me to call me if it gets worse. He ignored everything I said and just wanted to get off the phone, awful service
Will Call Within Two Hours
Used the NHS app and was advised I would get a call within two hours, nine hours later they rang at which point I was at A&E being admitted to hospital.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless!
Called up to ask for an out of hours appointment for my 15month old baby or even some advice as her eye had swelled up to the point she couldn’t see out of it (my usual doctors was closed). After spending 20 minutes on the phone I was told to take her to Specsavers! What a joke!!
I am now thoroughly glad.
There was a long delay before the call-back by a clinician. However, my patience was rewarded when the clinician asked me a lot of questions and then recommended the booking of an appointment with my GP. She also took action to expedite that appointment. I really am now thoroughly glad that I called 111.
I will never use the 111 service again
I will never use the 111 service again. I rang them 2 days after my bladder surgery over concern that my catheter bag was no longer filling and this worried me. A district nurse rang me back and rushed through a few suggestions that did not apply. She then I was dehydrated as I need to drink 2 litres a day and then finished the call. 10 minutes after I realised I had drank 3 litres that day so rang back to check if there was anything to worry about (I have autistic chronic anxiety). The same district nurse rang me back very angry. Said I was complaining about her (I wasn't) and in the same angry tone was rather abusive to me about wasting her time. I explained I only wanted advice but I would contact my GP the next day. In the same angry tone she told me not to bother my GP either making me feel humiliated so I told her it didn't matter. I later had to go to my GP with a urine infection. I have only used the service once before this experience but will never use them again.
Unless you’re dying, don’t bother.
So called last night … went through the symptoms then was told they were sending an ambulance as referred to 999. 999 called and said they were busy… make your own way to the hospital. Last UC flare I waited 12 hours, nothing was done and I was sent home. 3 days later, I was in hospital because my consultant said I should have been. Last life threatening sepsis at the same hospital, I was sent home without blood work and told it was food poisoning only to return 24 hours later with septic shock by ambulance. That was essential to just speaking to a doctor. Phoned 111 and said I only wanted an out of hours doctor to speak to and they said I had to speak to 999 because they referred it. I tried to explain again. Poor signal meant they hung up and I called again. Got the Yorkshire 111 people. Again, they wanted to send an ambulance and I said no… I just needed to speak to a dr about my symptoms. 4 hours later, a nurse from that area called and we finally hashed it out. Because of pre-existing conditions and symptoms, I should speak to a doctor. She, like me, realised that a&e was not right and speaking to a doctor or getting an out of hours appointment was best. But because I’m in Essex, she’d have to email them and I would hear within an hour. I actually said to hubby, the quack won’t phone. Now 7 hours later, still uncomfortable, I’m still waiting and will now have to try and get a GP appointment. I’m sleep deprived, still extremely uncomfortable and not guaranteed of seeing anyone. Thanks Essex 111 .
If I could give zero I would rang them…
If I could give zero I would rang them Saturday morning around 10am due to an abscess in my mouth, after a lot of questions got told the dental team would ring back within 12 hours to refer me to a dentist however the dental team didn’t ring back till 4am Sunday morning so 16 hours later for them to say ring back at 9am Monday morning rang back for them to say they couldn’t do anything due to being bank holiday and said to ring around dentists done that and couldn’t get an appointment without a referral so I have now taken matters in to my own hands and ruptured the suspected abscess myself now if I get infected It’s nhs fault pointless even trying to get help anymore
I am waiting AGAIN for 111 to ring me…
I am waiting AGAIN for 111 to ring me back! I phoned at 20.11 hours re my Son Dysphagia. They phoned back and call was finished after it rang out! I have just phoned back again and there is now a 36 minute wait for a call back.
I am scared for my Son, and need advice, this is a disgraceful, situation we find ourselves in. Shame on you 111 NHS. Sort yourselves out. We are trying to save the NHS a hospital visit and putting pressure on our hospital. Disgusting.
