Total Disappointment — Parents Beware!

Paid for the 2024/25 Foundation Course, but my daughter only received 2 standalone sessions — not the program we were promised. Now they’re refusing a refund and sending a false "final statement" claiming full delivery. This feels like misrepresentation at best, unethical at worst.

Save your time, money, and trust. Avoid Sir Tailor unless you enjoy chasing refunds for services never delivered.

To me, this tutor is a lifesaver. Having realised my child's progress wasnt going well, I contacted Pravin in March 2025 and explained my child's current position. He took my child in under his wing. Being new to his methods, tactics, at first my child was overwhelmed. But over time, once we understood his system, my child got the hang of it. Why we find this tutor great? First the fee (every parent's worries). Whilst people may think its expensive, the value add is simply incomparable. 2hrs Lessons (F2F and online), materials, Sunday mock tests and marking, half term revision times which is at least 3-4 times a week and guidance through whatsapp. Every single penny is more than worth it. Then, the lessons. Its fun, he engages students, rewards them with chocolate when they get right answers and provides pages of worksheet/materials for students to go through. Finally its his portal - he runs it 2 ways, one for the F2F and the other through online mock exam which are on Saturdays or Sundays, results are published and wrong answers are shown. This is something as parent we can work with our children to go through the wrong answers. He understands each student's ability and can address with the parent if parent raises concern. When children had to sit for Stage 2 tests, he organised more rigorous yet comprehensive lessons and conducted more mock tests. The questions are not standard ones, they are what we call the curveball questions which helps students to apply knowledge rather than learning like a parrot. Overall I was pleased with his quality of teaching and his materials and only wished I knew him sooner to provide best exposure to my child. And thanks to him, my child got the preferred grammar school. Highly recommended.

I’m so glad I was recommended to use Mr Praveen Gupta’s mocks for my son’s 11+ mocks. He started mocks as early as Feb because we only decided to give Kent 11+ in Jan for the September exam.

His mocks were very good and were intentionally tough. It not only helps kids crack the 11+ but also teaches some advanced concepts which is good for secondary.

Praveen has been a mentor and guide as well in giving tips to students and kids. His revision classes in August helped my son understand tricky concepts and excel in them too.

As a result my son got 96% in Kent 11+ and stands a good chance to get school of his choice

I came in touch about Mr. Gupta for the mock tests for my daughter’s 11+ this year and it was quite a fruitful. During initial mocks, her score was average and that was an indication of harder work needed to put. Although we didn’t opt for tuition from him but after the exam, whenever we needed guidance, Mr Gupta was there to advise and guide.

My son had his journey with praveen since middle of year 4 and he totally loved it. Praveen is very responsive to any queries and has a good pattern for covering topics. His mock tests have been very helpful. Would highly recommend

The standards of mock exam questions were so good that the real exam looked a bit easier. So that is a plus point to mention. We only did online exams. One suggestion: if anyone giving an online exam can access the explanations to the answers, that would be great.

We did a number of Praveen's mock tests (both online and in-person) and we found them extremely helpful and well-planned. The mocks were great for practice as the questions were challenging.

The online portal is very user-friendly and convenient to see the marks, ranking and mistakes. The explanations are also provided for tougher problems.

Praveen is very approachable as well and responds to queries immediately. I would definitely recommend doing his mock tests.

We took Face to Face tests and later Online Mock test. Test were helpful for preparation. Communication was also very prompt.

We have taken the Mock tests for Kent, Bexley and St Olaves both in person and online from Focused Mentoring. It is well organised and complexity of the papers and the timing for the paper prepares well to handle all the scenarios mocking real exams. There is wealth of test papers with Praveen which is updated to suit the individual exam styles.

We utilized Praveen's mock exams, ranging from topic-specific tests to full-length mock exams, and found them extremely beneficial for my son. A key advantage is that the tests remain available on the platform until the actual exam, allowing unlimited practice. Additionally, Praveen provides prompt result feedback.

We got to know about focus mentoring towards the end of 11 plus journey but in last 3 months it made a huge difference and improved overall performance of my son. Kids get challenged to advanced level of questions in all subjects. Praveen has tremendous patience which is admirable. I will definitely recommend him if you would like your kid to aim high and achieve his/her dreams.

Best part is that children and parents are allowed to see errors in tests and focus on weak areas (unlike few teachers who DONT share even questions discussed in class with students)

Praveen has been excellent in what is required for 11+ exams. My son almost attended all his Mock exams. They are effective and value to money. The results are provided next day online where you can check and verify each question in detail. My son also enjoyed his crash course classes nearer to the exam which boosts the confidence.

I would strongly recommend Praveen for kids aspiring for 11+ exams to get admission into top grammar schools in London, Kent . My daughter loved his classes always. His exam portal gives precise feedback on the questions with right answer

The focused mentoring gave our daughter the access to a grammar school. Despite the fact that we were leaving far, we followed all the recommendations and the zoom meetings. It's a dedicated and passionate team and we felt like our daughter training was customised based on her weaknesses. We also really like the regular touch base with the parents to give feedback on how the child was doing at home and how we as parents were supporting her.
