3DShop Avoids Replacing or Refunding Faulty Goods

I ordered a new screen for my FlSun QQ-S Pro 3D printer because my current one got damage to the touch sensor and wasn't reliable anymore.

It cost £38 which was fairly reasonable.
It was delivered promptly, within a few days.

Unfortunately, it did not work properly. When first connected, it was all flickering and wouldn't display the user interface at all.
So I carefully checked it and found that a ribbon cable for the LCD wasn't fully inserted into its connector. I took it out, gave it a quick clean with isopropyl alcohol and seated it fully.

The display then worked. I got a full UI image displayed.
Unfortunately, the touch screen was rotated 180 degrees from the display, so nothing worked. It did sense touches, but in the wrong places. This made it unusable. I was really tired from all the work trying to install it and taking the printer apart several times, so I went to bed and decided I'd have to put the old screen back in the next day.

So, next evening I went to take the printer apart again and first powered it up to make sure everything was still ok.
The screen lit up pure white and stayed that way. No picture. It was as if the backlight was working but the LCD wasn't doing anything anymore.

I checked the ribbon cable to the motherboard and it looked fine. I removed and re-attached it anyway and powered the printer up again, but still no joy - just white.

So now, I definitely had to replace it with the old screen.
Not only was the new screen rotated, making it basically useless, it had stopped working altogether.

I should note that I was extremely careful installing this new screen. I'm a qualified electronics engineer and I know what I'm doing with this kind of thing.

I contacted 3DShop to ask if I could get a refund or a replacement screen. I told them about the 180 degree rotation problem on the touch sensor.

After 1 week, I had heard nothing, so I emailed them again asking for any update - should I send the screen back, what address should I send it to, etc.

No reply again.

I've tried several times since. They were happy to respond to my emails when I was enquiring about the screen, making sure it was the right one for my printer and such, but it seems as soon as they had my money, they didn't want to talk anymore.

I don't know if this is common behaviour for this company, but I must say I'm extremely disappointed and annoyed by their lack of professionalism and their silence on this.
They have a 30 day window for returns of faulty goods, so I've wasted almost £40 and ended up with nothing. It seems to me that they were deliberately ignoring me, running the clock down until their liability ended.

Update:

On 14th Nov 2025, I finally received my refund. Better late than never I suppose. I changed my rating from 1 to 2 stars. Didn’t get any email or explanation from them about the long wait. I suspect it was just to try to avoid bad reputation. Won’t be buying anything from them again anyway.
