DON'T

DON'T! Don't use 500 Move! We moved from Tucson, AZ to Leland, NC, and what a disaster! From the beginning, first with pricing, that went up $3,000, then when this guy shows up, the first thing he says, twice, was "this is going to cost you a lot more!". He went through the house, and came up with a price of ANOTHER $5,000 which included some stuff that was staying with the house in Tucson! Did he adjust the price after I pointing this out? Of course not! Total, $15,000! And your stuck, they won't give you your money back, and what are you going to do?

Then on arrival several items were broken. And they pay 0.60 cents a pound for the items! It's not worth your time to do all the paperwork necessary for 0.60 cents a pound.

Totally a very bad choice on my part, and as I said "DON'T! DON'T USE THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS!"

Hiring 500 Move will be the worst decision of your life

Bait and switch. Late and unprofessional. Rude liars. Uncommunicative and will yell at you or hang up on you. Extortionists. Keep your items in their storage for up to 45 days without telling you what's happening. Rifle through your stuff and steal. Lose things. Gaslighting and scammy. Careless and will break most of your items and damage property. Slow moving. Do not use legitimately employed help, instead grabbing gig workers and randos off the street to handle your property. Claims process is snail mail only and tedious. Pays weight, not value of loss and damage. Require you sign an NDA to keep settlement. Demoralizing life ruiners. Please see other reviews for more details and other similar customer experiences.
