Paid $8 for the sub, but couldn't use it after a couple of hours. Can't reach the support team. I'm very disappointed. I needed to use this platform, but now I've paid money and can't get anything out... See more

Google translate is a poor substitute for research in setting up a language-learning tool. The Latvian “dictionary” is atrocious. I pity the person who decides to trust your suggestions.

Excellent!

Excellent. I am learning Turkish. The lessons are well structured. The language is clearly spoken and the exercises are also very good. Young people (6-35) can memorize the sentences. But older people like me (53) need to know some basic grammar of the foreign language before starting the course. The course is for beginners. Nice course to get interested in a foreign language.

I am an ESL teacher and language freak!

I am an ESL teacher and I learn languages for fun. I am trying to teach myself Bosnian and I use the app and the book isn’t exactly needed but it is nice to have something to hold and read physically in print. The pronunciation is very good! I was just using google translator independently. And I found the pronunciation on the app was much easier to follow and duplicate. I also like the sentence scrambles. And the memory games and vocabulary games and there is so much that I can dig around to find. Now I have a few complaints the tests for each activity don’t just cover the activity they go over content you haven’t learned yet. I just rolled with it but I can see how it would frustrate people. I also notice the vocabulary reading comprehension has mistakes like they call an undershirt a vest. And they have two words for curtains but they don’t specify that it is just the bunting across the top or drapes. And they use a word for windbreaker that is andorak? Not a word I have heard before! So they need to fix some of the translations do it is more clear. But I am learning about a hundred words a week! It is so fun!!! But I am a language freak!!! It has as the sickly pleasing photos for the matching and vocabulary it doesn’t look out dated and corny.

I would say I expected more from the book that it would have more activities but I really enjoy seeing in print all the lessons I have completed and reading it because reading the print is part of literacy. This program helps with spelling it is great and I mark words in the book I need to still review. So my son can ask me the word in English and give me a spelling test.

I recommend they say a word in the target language and you say what it means without multiple choice.

I like the radio stations I fully use all components of the app I listen to the audio files in my car going to work.

In love with these files since Book2.de

I enjoyed these series from 2013-4 on, I learned two new languages and improved another one. Thank you all in 50languages, Book2 and Goethe Instituted for all of your efforts in this project.

This is a wonderful aid to learning a…

This is a wonderful aid to learning a new language. I am currently learning my seventh langugage. I now feel that more focus on phrases without the traditional grammar rules is the quickest way forward with a new language. Its also more fun. 50 Languages uses this approach and is the most enjoyable way to learn as well as being of very high quality.

I have one complaint, hence only four stars. I am learning Slovak from a base of english. I listen first to the english and then to the Slovak version. I notice with all recordings that the english speaker is very clear and loudly spoken. This is wonderful for students. However, the Slovak is spoken somewhat lower and weaker. You would wish to turn the volume up a bit and then down again for the english. Sometimes the Slovak phrase trails off towards the end so that I am not clear what the ending is (often crucial in understanding). Its like the base language teacher is making a great effort with clarity and the native speaker is not too bothered. Now, in case you think that I understand english first and so will find it clearer, I asked my colleague who is Slovak to listen and she confirmed what I say. This is disappointing in an otherwise perfect tool.

Best methodology of teaching languages

The website and the app are really amazing, they followed the best methodology and they offered it for free, some other companies make paid learning materials that is not helpful at all. We can see that they invested a real huge efforts here; and I think this is serving the whole humanity.
I draw their attention to one pair of languages that didn't contain the French part and they fixed it for the 100 files in less than 24 hours!
Thank you 50languages.com!!
