I got to try out on a free account first - great. Got ssh swiftly enabled for my IP on request. Wanted rsync (since no Git on shared at the moment) and that got sorted. However, could not find the correct email settings for my apps and then when I upgraded to a paid account had to re-request ssh, so room for improvement.

Why 5 stars then? Because all issues resolved and I asked for extra tools you don't always get on a shared account and most of all, the support was super high quality and super fast - even over a weekend!

I have been a customer of 5quidhost for some time, several years in fact. I cannot think of anything to say that is not positive. Excellent reliable service, brilliant support and extremely competitive prices. Since signing up with 5quidhost I have never, at any time, felt the need to look elsewhere. Sppedy support and good value all round

Start on the free service, and when your traffic increases only then do you pay. Unique in that the free service is fully functional, database, shell, etc

5quidhost are fantastic web hosts, I have used them many times over the past 5+ years and always recommend them to people I am working with/for. Ordering your hosting package is quick and simple and their prices are extremely reasonable (especially if you buy multiple years worth in advance, huge savings to be had there!)

Whenever I have a query or a problem they are very quick to reply, usually within an hour - which is unheard of for most hosting companies, and their staff are knowledgeable and helpful - even more amazing for a low cost host! They're just a bresh of fresh air compared to other hosting companies I've used. 100% recommended.

I have one paid-for site and one free site. Both sites work really well, the CPanel management gives a lot of management capabilities and the up-time is perfect.

The support I've received has also been excellent. Fast and also knowledgeable.

5QuidHost is everything I want from a web host - cost effective, great quality and decent support.

I have tried lots of host companies and some are good and some are no good but none are as good for the money as 5quidhost.
As of yet i have not got lots of junk mail as i did with a few of the Big names out there.
So if you a good cheap reliable hosting company you will not go wrong with 5quidhost

As they promised on their website, they set up a free hosting for me in less than a couple hours. This is a great service and very handy for me to test my site before going for a full hosting package with them.

I haven't come across this kind of promptness.

I organised my hosting and set up a Wordbase site with no problems in very little time.

I submitted my order only to have it sit in the queue for what was nearly 24 hours before i sent an email to the support address to enquire as to what was taking so long! Once my order was processed and the hosting accessible I haven't had any problems what so ever 4/5.

Although the customer service from Tentahost is excellent and helpful the service they provide isn't up to the mark. Servers are slow and services offered, such as Softalicious, as standard are too much for the hardware provided. I've had to move hosts as my customers are complaining of slow and unresponsive web page delivery. I've had a reseller hosting account for two years and it's just getting slower and slower all the time. In the interests of my customers I've had to move. Great if you have a simple little website with low traffic but for anything serious find someone else.

I primarily wanted a free mailbox to go with my domain, and this seemed to offer the easiest way of getting that.. 5 Quid Host was very helpful upfront and signing up for the free account was a breeze.
I has not originally intended to use the website hosting facility but I must admit that I'm now very tempted. My only reservation is that the size of the free account is much less than some of the other providers. but it was much easier to see what you get with this account and the instructions were very clear.

Great set-up and can't believe it's free
